Chapter 166 - Source Origin(16)

It was scary, not because of the beings surrounding him right now, that was more of a feeling of pure indifference, he was certain they could kill him if they wished to do so, and they certainly wouldn't have to do it physically, he could feel his very soul screaming that very fact at him quite loudly, so loud in fact that his inner ears, or at least that which was inside of his soul and listening, was beginning to bleed, for lack of a better term, rather, it just began to burn inside of him, and not in any kind of way he had ever felt before.

No, what was truly scaring Cades right now was the fact that he hadn't decided to turn his body around, he hadn't commanded his flesh to move, if this false illusion of a body even had something akin to flesh, which it probably didn't.

His very body was feeling pure dread, it was trying to escape from both realizing what it was standing on, from understanding even a fracture of the significance of what was surrounding him on all sides, of realizing what those arched mountains covering the entirety of the sky, five all together, truly were, that being fingers, and after it had failed when it looked at the eerie giraffe with the silver eye, it began to look for something else to stop itself from realizing and completely breaking down, or perhaps it was just trying to prolong the time it's subconscious had to compute the sheer everything, the sheer... this.. place, perhaps it was even computing right now while Cades was looking at another one of the beings surrounding him, already feeling that he would next look at the one right in front of him, something he didn't even really understand as to why he hadn't looked at whatever that thing was supposed to be first and only really having tickled it with his look while gazing aside it when his head rushed towards the right to see the morbid being he was now looking at.

It was quite different from the one he had been looking at until now, and his heart began to race in terror as he looked at the endlessly big silver pupil staring at him from thousands of feet up, so high that he couldn't even conceive the entire length of this creature, he was certain of one thing, this was the hair-like being he had seen from far, far above, this being was a kind of worm, the eye encased within it's maw, like a grim reminder.

As Cades looked at the maw, his flesh contracting as if it was expecting to be swallowed as soon as ift moved in the slightest, he was certain that it was till able to eat despite that eye, but there was one thing he was happy about, it was the fact that he didn't have to watch an endless maw, a tunnel of flesh leading to what could perhaps even turn out to be his very own, fresh, demise, instead he looked at the eye that was most likely even bigger than the one that had been held by the morbid giraffe-spider, though he would've also found the anatomy of the creature funny had this been a normal situation, and had the gold-rimmed silver pupils of that eye surrounded by countless small, incredulously, sharp teeth not been holding that eye back, had those teeth not been vibrating wit pure force, had the endless, dark brown body of the worm, covered in what seemed to be endlessly squirming, tiny, hair not been there, then he might've truly found this anatomy funny, but in the end, he could not deny that this being must've sprung out from the deepest nightmares of a traumatised child, perhaps even the child that had conveyed the news that Cades had supposedly eaten a holy mother's baby with a grin on his face..

More than that, as if the being simply couldn't stay still, even a singular moment of it's most likely eternal life, the endlessly long, circular and sleek body, aside from the vibrating, squirming, fuzzy, hair covering the entirety of it, was parted into countless parts making it up, just like with a normal worm one might see after it had been raining for quite some time, like a worm used for fishing, like the worms spread all across the worlds, spread into almost every single planet, every single dimension, even on that place where he had thought the Eximimus Queen, even back then had he seen some of them near the river.

They were turning around their very own axis, as if they were just added atop the throw of any weapon that was both big enough and dared to approach this endless monster whose end he couldn't even see, and yet, despite this, it had lifted itself high up into the sky, it's endless body arching over, further showing just how big it was, and emphasizing just how great the difference between it and the arching mountains that Cades had now begun to accept as fingers was, that being an incomparable difference, just like with an ant and a elephant, no, perhaps even much, much, greater of a difference, like a flea eating the blood of an ant, unnoticed and tinier than even it, compared to the greatest elephant out of a herd consisting of thousands of them.

Just as he began to realize that difference, his very head began to hurt, not mentally, but physically, as if the very presence of that hand was far too much to even understand, to even feel, to even see, to even be near, but he did feel that it had lessened from the beginning by a fair amount, an amount he was fairly certain to not be because of his own tries to get used to seeing them, however small they maybe were, but more so because there was something in his mind, something trying to help him not get crushed by the mere sight of the fingers, something that helped him for a long time, something that had perhaps even once lived deep within the engravings inside of his body, the engravings he had no idea of how he even created them.

And with that, with that feeling, with the old fear he already knew, his head rushed, straightening itself out and looking straight ahead, soon realizing just why he had been so reluctant, just why his psyche had avoided looking at this... thing...
