Chapter 52 - Entering a harem?

Chapter 52: Entering a harem?

"Mother" Stella walked into the king's chamber to find her mother. Aliza would usually be busy because of ancestral ceremony preparations, but still would take out time to take short nap in the afternoon.

"Stella" Aliza smiled seeing her daughter. The queen made place beside on the bed and kissed Stella's cheeks as soon as she sat down beside her.

"I was about to call you. I chose some dresses for you. See if you like them or not." Aliza said and pointed at the beautiful display of dresses and jewellery in the corner of the room.

Stella smiled but another set of simple clothing didn't escape her eyes.

"Are they for sister?"

Aliza nodded. "Yes. I noticed she keeps everything very simple. So I made appropriate changes to her designs."

Stella nodded in understanding. "Will she be with us by the time ceremony starts?" the princess asked eagerly. She needed to know the progress. Every year, it was Isabella's crown that would sit on her throne.

"I don't know. But I can feel that she will be here with us soon." Aliza said softly. She was glowing now a days after knowing Isabella was safe. A huge guilt and burden was lifted off her shoulders.

"Will her husband come here too?" Stella asked. Actually she hoped Dylan to come here. Atleast Isabella won't be able to get any extra support from marriage alliances if her is present here.

"Most probably. I don't think Isabella will stay here even for a minute if Dylan is not here." Aliza replied. She was sad to say that, but that was the truth. And after knowing that Isabella and Dylan had found each other after a long separation, she didn't want to break them apart.

"So you have no problem with sister choosing him as her husband?" Stella asked again. She wanted to test the waters and see if her parents would support her if she wants to marry Calhoun.

"We don't have any problem. We never had any. We were just not ready to see her get married so soon. She is just 18, and we don't even know the character of the man she is marrying. So we were a bit reluctant."

Aliza explained and smiled. She had many conversations with Dylan, and he was a very down to earth and humble person. He patiently explained how things work in the human realm without getting irritated.

"But now we have seen that he loves Isabella a lot. Even though she grew up in an orphanage, Dylan loved and pampered her like a princess. I doubt we can find her a man like that anywhere"

Stella listened carefully. Seems like the only quality their parents focused was 'love'. As long as the love is genuine, they will accept.

The princess bit her lower lips as she thought about Calhoun. She should make sure Calhoun falls in love with her before talking to her parents about this.

"Someone seems to be thinking about the runaway prince" Dexter commented as he munched on his apples while leaning against his griffin, Leon.

The elf-prince who was always meticulous and strict with protocols was grateful to the king for leaving him here. He was enjoying a very carefree life here. Just like his companion, Calhoun.

Calhoun, who was hiccuping for a while now, rubbed his chest and gave a side eyes to the elf-prince. He still didn't like this guy who behaves as if he knows everything in the world.

Dexter chuckled looking at his reaction. The sun above them was bright, the breeze was cool and gentle, the scent of the flowers was soothing, and his mood was good.So he decided to tease the prince.

"So prince Calhoun. Have you ever slept with anyone?" Dexter asked. He started to understand this prince after staying here for a while.

He also saw that huge dragon tattoo on his back. It was easy to connect the dots. Draphior and Amantha were once here. And there must be that 'black lizard' too. Seeing how Calhoun was the only one who easily crossed the barrier, he guessed who Calhoun was.

"I don't think that is any of your business prince Dexter." Calhoun replied and closed his eyes. Everything was so peaceful, but then this sophisticated elf had to settle here. Tch..

"Ofcourse it is not. Just treat it as men talks. Do you have any experience?"

Calhoun opened his eyes and glared at Dexter. But that didn't intimidate the elf prince at all.

"Fine. Since you are shy, don't answer that. Tell me about your marriage plans, or your mate might be?" Dexter asked again. He was curious to know how things worked with a black dragon. And mainly because Calhoun's dragon seemed to be still locked inside him.

Calhoun clenched his fists. Mate? He didn't even have a beast. Is this elf taunting him?

"I am still young prince Dexter. Lets talk about you. You are almost 200 years old now. Why didn't you find yourself a wife yet?"

Dexter's smirk wiped off as soon as he heard Calhoun. He didn't like people reminding of his age. It wasn't a big deal in the elf kingdom, since people were much older than him there. But he had lived in Mythiopia for a long time now, and people here had a life span a little more than normal humans.

"Cat got your tongue? Let me ask you a question now. Did princess Isabella really got married so early in the human realm?" Calhoun asked curiously.

"Yes. She and her husband grew up together and fell in love. They trust each other, so didn't hesitate to tie the knot." Dexter explained, but then frowned and continued. "Just because you helped a little in searching our princess, don't start dreaming about entering her harem." He warned.

Calhoun's upper lips twitched in irritation. Entering a harem? This elf was crossing his limit.

"I don't have any interest in joining another royal family. I was just curious about her human husband." Calhoun defensed himself.

None of them realized, but staying alone in this isolated place has made them quite good at gossiping. Though they taunt and argue all the time, they also gossip about lot of people. But both of them were very much aware of what information they were trading.
