Ethan spent quite some time inspecting the VR capsule. His original plan was to clean it thoroughly, but the soft padding inside turned out to be inseparable from the wiring. There was no easy way to remove or wash it without risking damage. In the end, he gave up.
He'd either have to head down the mountain tomorrow to buy a new one or take this unit to a professional cleaner in the city.
With a sigh, he closed the capsule hatch and retrieved the familiar Model XVI-701 VR headset. He hadn't used it in a while, and re-entering Ethereal this way felt… clunky. The sensation lacked the depth and fidelity he'd grown used to.
