Jin stood frozen, his hand still outstretched, eyes wild with desperation. But Hana… Hana had already stepped back. The pain in her chest was still there, heavy like a stone—but it wasn't because she loved him. Not anymore.
It was because she once did.
"I know I was wrong," Jin whispered, his voice cracking. "I know I let you go when I shouldn't have. I was a coward. I thought I needed to be with her—for my family, for the business, for everything that wasn't you. But it was always you, Hana. Always."
Her arms wrapped around herself. She wasn't trembling. She wasn't crying. She just stood there, hollowed out.
"You say that now," she replied, "when everything else has fallen apart. You say that because you think I'll still be here, waiting. But I'm not, Jin. I'm not that girl anymore."
