Lacie struggled with her crutches until she entered her own room, then slumped on the ground. Her seething anger showed more in the tremor of her fingers she couldn't control.
"That b—" Lacie sucked her teeth, swallowing the rest of the curse words. She felt so enraged that she hadn't dragged Stephanie's hair earlier, also the look of pity on Roman's face when Stephanie brought up her children.
"As if having children is now a curse," Lacie scowled, pulling up her upper lip in annoyance. When she heard a soft shuffle from the window, Lacie turned.
"What are you doing there?" Lacie asked, sniffling back her tears.
Mila stepped out from the shadow, also wiping her tears with the back of her hand. "That girl Stephanie, she's like a bug, and I really want to stab her so badly that it makes me scared of myself."
"That makes two of us," Lacie remarked absentmindedly, staring into space. "Everyone is gathered downstairs; two sisters can't be missing from there."
