Chantelle let out a sigh, and she felt annoyed at the thought of the tests.
"Why do you sound so excited?" she asked. "Are you using me as some kind of lab rat?"
"Daniel insisted we run a full body checkup on you. It's also a good chance for us to gather fresh data," Philip said as he helped Chantelle onto the machine.
She had been taking the new medicine they developed, and Philip was eager to see how well it was working.
About thirty minutes later, Chantelle noticed Philip, Alexander, and Russell standing closer together. They were silent as their eyes fixed on the stack of reports, and they wore the same serious expression.
She suddenly felt worried.
"What's wrong? Is it really that bad?" she asked.
Philip quickly pulled the report to his chest and gave her a smile.
"It's nothing. You're getting better."
"Don't lie to me. Is my time running out?" Chantelle asked, reaching to grab the report from Philip's hands.
