When Kira and Orson arrived at the courthouse, Mallory and the maids under her were already there. It seemed they had hurried over without causing any delay.
Mallory was on crutches and a veil covered her face to prevent anyone from seeing her scars.
But she seemed to make a slight gasp at the sight of Kira in the courtroom.
Luther was yet on his throne. He glanced at Kira and Orson as soon as they came in but was a little surprised to see Kira all dirty, with a scratch on her face.
"Your highness." Kira bowed.
Luther was a bit confused so stared at Orson to be cleared. Orson understanding the look immediately spoke.
"Your majesty, I found the lady Almira's personal maid in the dungeon. Apparently, Lady Mallory had ordered some guards to get her punished there."
Mallory felt herself quiver. Why was her own actions backfiring? How come Kira still yet her tongue and fingers intact, did those wretch guards dare disobey her orders?
