Chapter 129 - CHAPTER 129 - Battle of Gods and Demons

Boom!

The shockwave from the misty electric cannon collided with the golden sand copper fist, causing the sky to seem like it had collapsed in an instant. The deafening sound alone echoed throughout the entire space. The area where the two were located was immediately enveloped by the shockwaves, with chunks of the ground being flipped and sent flying in all directions.

The center of the clash resembled the aftermath of a nuclear bomb explosion, sending forth a shockwave mixed with layers of earth and stone that spread out, destroying everything in its path...

"What kind of battle is this?!" Hodeman and Lisa, along with all the masters in the city, gathered beneath this section of the city wall, their faces filled with horror. They had sensed something was wrong when Rosen fought this monster, but they never imagined it would be the lord of the Great Rift, Charles, this demon.

On the entire Landis Island, who could stop this monster besides the queen? Alice couldn't, even if she wasn't ambushed; facing the strongest monster on the island, she wouldn't last long and would soon be killed.

However, they never expected that the outsider brought back by Lisa would exhibit such terrifying power at this moment. Although he was at a disadvantage, he was indeed withstanding Charles' attacks! This completely overturned their understanding of foreign powers.

The brief skirmish that followed left them no chance to assist. Even for Lisa, once she entered the combat zone, she would likely be killed by the aftermath of the battle without Charles needing to intervene. Hodeman, though stronger than Lisa, was still weaker than Alice and couldn't insert himself into such a high-level fight.

"Clear out the remaining zombies as soon as possible, hold the city wall, and organize another team to prepare to assist the outsider," Hodeman commanded after some thought. Even if it meant sending them to their deaths, it was something that had to be done. This was their city, and thanks to the city moat built by Rosen, they had not been completely breached, stabilizing the situation for the time being. However, they couldn't let their guard down. Although many horned demons had died, a few still appeared occasionally, making things quite tricky for everyone.

"I'll lead the team. Those willing to fight with me, gather here," Lisa said without hesitation. Even if she could only create a few opportunities for Rosen, it was enough.

"I want to go," Natalie said, standing beside Lisa, her gaze resolute. Lisa opened her mouth to speak, but in this situation, she had no right to refuse; otherwise, it might shake her clan's confidence.

In the countless survival wars, no one had privileges; as long as you were a warrior, even a child had to rush to the battlefield, without exception.

"Don't cause trouble; protect your city well." However, Rosen heard the voices from the city wall as he was blown a short distance away by the explosion's shockwave. Blood trickled from his mouth, but his fighting spirit soared: "It's definitely way beyond 400 million, 800 million monsters. Even if it's not an admiral level, it won't be far off!"

He had long desired an opponent above 400 million, but he never expected such a powerful one to appear all at once. This was Rosen's preliminary judgment after his initial clash with this demon from the phantom beast species and the strongest enemy he had ever encountered.

Hearing Rosen's reprimand, Lisa hesitated. What Rosen said might not be mere pleasantries; rather, it was a warning about their strength entering the battlefield recklessly. A part of them might be able to help Rosen, but they could also bring him unnecessary trouble.

"First, clear the monsters entering the city. If he is defeated, tonight will be the end of our Ming City," Hodeman decided to follow Rosen's advice, as Rosen was currently the strongest on the human side and might have some plan.

"Understood."

"Cough, damn it... how did that monster Charles suddenly appear in Ming City? Isn't he usually lurking in the Abyss Rift? Damn..." Alice roared angrily, protected by several warriors. Struggling to stand up, she was lucky that Charles's ambush punch hadn't killed her outright. If it weren't for her being a genetically enhanced individual with superior physical abilities, she would have died from that strike. But now, she was devoid of any fighting power.

Now, to put the fate of the entire city in the hands of an outsider? How could Alice feel at ease with that? How could she accept it? But was Charles really something he could handle? Even the queen had fought Charles multiple times and had never managed to defeat him, sometimes even suffering losses. She acknowledged that Rosen was strong, but against Charles, he could easily die.

At this moment, she didn't want him to die, even if she didn't particularly like him. If he died, Ming City would face slaughter, and he had saved her life; she hadn't even had the chance to thank him...

"It's time to risk it all." Rosen tore off his coat; it would only be a burden in the upcoming battle.

Thud, thud, thud!

Charles marched towards Rosen with powerful steps, leaving clear, collapsed footprints in the ground with each step. It was evident how high his body density was and how terrifying his weight could be.

"Desert Kingdom!" Sand erupted violently around Rosen, shaking the ground for miles around. Countless grains of sand flew up, forming a massive sandstorm like a flood behind Rosen.

Just this ordinary sandstorm wouldn't harm Charles; his defenses and the properties of the phantom beast species made him immune to physical damage.

Rosen's initial probing strikes passed right through his body, as if his form was merely an illusion.

"Sword!" Rosen grasped at the air, gathering all the sand in his hands to form a sword that executed the Sandstorm Slash, but he still felt it wasn't enough. The surface of the sand sword was entirely covered by golden sand copper, making it even sturdier and sharper, with greater armor-piercing power.

"Armament!" Rosen infused the sword with his aura. Although it was just a hint of aura at the tip of the blade, it was enough; as long as it could touch Charles's solid form, it would do.

However, maintaining the sword was extremely difficult for Rosen; he only understood some basic sword techniques, but with the support of overwhelming power, the strength he exhibited was not to be underestimated.

"Sand Curtain Slash!" Rosen slashed vertically at Charles, and a highly compressed wave of sand transformed into a curtain of swords that plowed through the earth, heading straight for Charles.

Charles's demonic hand suddenly expanded a bit, and with a single motion, he smashed the sand curtain to pieces. As the sand shattered, Rosen lunged forward for a thrust, aiming directly at Charles's chest.

But it couldn't penetrate.

"Break for me." Rosen continued to apply force, but just as he was about to break through, Charles's attack had already arrived, a shockwave laced with black mist crashing towards Rosen's head.

"Damn it." Rosen had no choice but to dodge, but the tremendous force from the yellow sand sword also sent Charles flying, though he sustained no injuries.

Soon, both sides were locked in fierce combat, each move brimming with world-destroying energy, but anyone could see that Rosen was slightly at a disadvantage. Nevertheless, this left Lisa and the others in awe.

"So strong!" If their fights were those of mortals, then the battle between Rosen and Charles was one of gods and demons, with destructive energy pouring out with every gesture.
