Chapter 2 - The Mysterious Yan Ruo

Chapter 2: The Mysterious Yan Ruo

Bo Dong sat upright as Yan Ruo stepped into the room. The morning light filtering through the wooden windows illuminated her delicate features—long, flowing black hair cascading over her shoulders, deep brown eyes filled with warmth, and a serene yet unreadable expression.

She was dressed in a simple yet elegant robe, her posture graceful as she carried a wooden tray with a bowl of medicinal soup.

"You've been unconscious for two days, Young Master," she said softly, placing the tray on the small table beside his bed. "I was beginning to worry."

Bo Dong felt a rush of unfamiliar emotions as he looked at her. His new memories told him that Yan Ruo had been by his side since childhood. She had been assigned to care for him after his parents' deaths, yet despite her role as his caretaker, she was no mere servant.

She was a woman of mystery.

Unlike the other maids in the household, she was highly educated and skilled in cultivation, though she had never revealed her true strength. She remained distant from the inner conflicts of the clan, quietly watching over him without seeking power or favor.

Bo Dong had never questioned it before. But now, with his new awareness and the **Multi-Child Blessing System** burning in his mind, he saw her in a new light.

She was beautiful.

She was strong.

And she had been by his side for years.

A soft chime rang in his mind.

**[Ding! System Notification: Potential Partner Detected—Yan Ruo!]**

**[Calculating compatibility… 85% match!]**

**[Potential Blessing: Unknown. More interaction needed.]**

Bo Dong's breath hitched. The system had already begun its work.

He needed to understand more.

"Yan Ruo," he said, his voice steady yet probing. "Why have you always stayed with me?"

She hesitated, her fingers lightly brushing the edge of the tray. "Because it was my duty, Young Master. Your parents entrusted me with your care before they… before they passed."

Her voice wavered for a split second, but she quickly composed herself.

Bo Dong narrowed his eyes. That wasn't the full truth. There was something deeper.

"Only duty?" he asked, watching her reaction.

Yan Ruo looked at him, surprised. He had never questioned her like this before.

"…And because I care for you," she admitted finally. "You are the last hope of the Bo Clan, Young Master. If you fall, there will be no one left to carry on your family's legacy."

A sharp pain struck Bo Dong's heart.

The Bo Clan… his family… had once been a formidable force in the cultivation world. But after his parents' deaths, their influence had crumbled. Now, they were barely surviving, overshadowed by rival clans eager to erase their name completely.

He clenched his fists.

No. He wouldn't let that happen.

And he had the **Multi-Child Blessing System** to ensure it didn't.

Bo Dong exhaled slowly and took the bowl of soup from the tray. He sipped it carefully, feeling its warmth spread through his body. It was rich with spiritual herbs—Yan Ruo must have prepared it herself.

As he placed the bowl down, he made a decision.

He would start here. With her.

"Yan Ruo," he said, meeting her gaze. "I promise you… I will not let the Bo Clan fall. No matter what it takes, I will rise."

A flicker of emotion passed through her eyes—something unreadable, but not unwelcome.

Bo Dong didn't need to use the system to know that a seed had been planted.

His journey had just begun.
