Chapter 80 - Chapter 80: Roland

A noisy commotion sounded outside—it seemed to be the residents of the Twilight Forest.

When Lin Fan returned home, Heloi was no longer there, so the only one by his side now was Lordson.

Lordson gripped the iron sword in his hand, ready to help Lin Fan deal with the trouble.

But Lin Fan stopped him.

"Wait."

"I'll handle this myself."

After saying that, he opened the wooden door and stepped outside.

As soon as he stepped out, he saw a group of Twilight Forest residents standing outside the door, holding either iron swords or diamond swords.

In their hands, they held leashes—leashes that were tied to several Blue Star residents.

Lin Fan could tell they were Blue Star residents because their equipment was far too simple. They had no armor at all, and the only weapon in their hands was a stone sword.

When the crowd saw Lin Fan come out, the Twilight Forest residents froze for a moment.

"Is that... a Fiery Armor you're wearing?" They exchanged glances.

For a moment, they were unsure of Lin Fan's identity.

Everyone knew that elemental ores did not spawn on Continent One. These kinds of ores only appeared in Twilight Forest.

Originally, they had assumed Lin Fan was an outsider, but now, seeing him wearing a full Fiery Armor, they were uncertain.

One of the Twilight Forest residents frowned and then kicked one of the Blue Star residents beside him.

"What kind of directions did you give us? This is Lin Fan? He's obviously one of us from Twilight Forest!" he bellowed angrily.

Hearing this, the Blue Star residents immediately became distressed.

"What do you mean 'one of you from Twilight Forest'? He is from Blue Star! This is definitely Lin Fan!"

They might not recognize others, but there was no way they wouldn't recognize Lin Fan. After all, he had caused such a stir in the main world.

"Who are you trying to fool? Do you even know what he's wearing?!" The Twilight Forest resident was furious.

"What?"

"He's wearing the rare Fiery Armor! Anyone who can wear elemental gear is a dominant figure in Twilight Forest! You think you can trick me? Do you Blue Star weaklings even deserve elemental gear?!"

As he spoke, the Twilight Forest resident started beating the Blue Star resident with his fists and feet.

"I bet you're just trying to make me offend this esteemed lord! Let's see if I beat you to death!"

"I'm not lying! He really is Lin Fan!" The person on the ground cried out in agony.

Watching this ridiculous scene unfold before him, Lin Fan felt a headache coming on.

He had intended to use this group for practice, but he hadn't expected them to mistake him for a Twilight Forest resident.

It seemed his guess was right—elemental ores were indeed not found in the main world; they only spawned in Twilight Forest.

And judging by what these people were saying, elemental ores were incredibly rare, even more so than diamond ores.

Several people in the group were carrying diamond swords, but not a single one had an elemental sword.

It seemed this was another way this world differed from the Minecraft he had played in his past life.

In the game, elemental ore had a drop rate similar to iron, but in this world, it was rarer than diamonds.

It turned out that his Fiery Armor was something truly remarkable.

As the argument continued, Lin Fan suddenly sensed a powerful aura surging toward him.

This immense pressure sent a wave of alarm through his heart.

Before he could even see who it was, a strong green light shot down toward him from above!

However, Lin Fan's reaction speed was incredibly fast.

Even without seeing the attacker clearly, he managed to dodge the green light in an instant.

'That was close.'

Lin Fan's eyes darkened. He reached into his inventory and pulled out Anonymity - Wood -, which he strapped to his waist.

"Lin Fan! Behind you!"

A familiar voice suddenly shouted from behind him.

Lin Fan swiftly turned to look behind him. Curtis's claw was already inches away from his heart, but he managed to draw his Anonymity - Wood - in time to block the devastating strike.

There was… no aura at all.

Lin Fan frowned. With the enhancement of the Nine Nether buff, he should have been able to sense Curtis's presence.

If it hadn't been for someone warning him just now, he might have already fallen to Curtis's attack.

It seemed the creatures in this world were different from those in the main world—he couldn't afford to rely too much on the Nine Nether buff.

But thinking about it, it made sense. The Nine-Serpent King was also a creature of Twilight Forest. As a being of the same origin, just how much could the Serpent King truly suppress the Nagas?

This world was not the same as the game he had played in his past life.

Nagakind was no longer the weakest monster of Twilight Forest like in the game.

Now, as long as they were powerful enough, Nagas could crush even creatures like the Snow Queen or the Hydra.

With this realization, Lin Fan grew even more vigilant.

Even though Curtis was young, he was still the clan leader of the Nagas—his strength couldn't be underestimated.

Lin Fan watched Curtis carefully, gripping Anonymity - Wood - tightly in his hand, ready to strike at any moment.

Curtis glanced at the wooden blade in Lin Fan's hand and raised an eyebrow.

"A katana?" He chuckled. "That maid must have taught you how to craft that, right?"

Lin Fan remained silent.

Curtis scoffed in disdain.

"I admit your reaction speed is impressive, but you're just a mere human from Continent One. Without the maid and the Saintess, what do you have to fight me with?"

He snorted coldly and cast a glance at Lordson.

"Are you relying on this brawny-looking man?"

His expression was full of contempt.

For him, the task given to him by the Black Maid was as easy as drinking water.

In a flash, his figure blurred—he instantly appeared right in front of Lin Fan!

Lin Fan's eyes widened, barely having time to register Curtis's speed before the Naga clan leader's head transformed into that of a serpent, lunging at him with bared fangs.

Lin Fan swiftly raised Anonymity - Wood - to block the strike, its wooden edge clashing against the deadly fangs. Adjusting his stance, he prepared to launch a counterattack, but in the next second, Curtis vanished.

"Without the maid and your contract beast, you're nothing!" Curtis roared as he struck again.

After several exchanges, Lin Fan could clearly feel that Curtis's speed surpassed his own.

His strength was at least a hundred times greater than Heloi's current level.

Originally, Lin Fan had thought he could slice through Nagas in a single strike. Now, that seemed nothing more than a fantasy.

He continuously swung Anonymity - Wood -, every attack a basic strike. He still hadn't adapted to channeling the Nine Nether buff into his technique.

Each time he tried to infuse the power of Nine Nether into his blade, Curtis would launch a relentless assault, preventing him from fully unleashing his strength.

"Your strength is slightly higher than I expected," Curtis sneered, "but you're still too inexperienced to fight me!"

With those words, he fully transformed into his serpent form, grabbed his tail, and lashed it toward Lin Fan with tremendous force.

"You truly are a pathetic coward!"

"Do you even know where the maid and the Saintess went while you're hiding here?"

His words made Lin Fan's heart jolt.

His gaze grew icy as he looked at Curtis.

"Where are they?"

"Of course, they went to the Naga Temple!" Curtis burst into laughter. "Because they both know that the Black Maid wants you dead—so they went to trade their lives for yours!"

"But they're too naïve. Naïve enough to think that sacrificing themselves would make Lady Roland spare you!"
