Chapter 5 - A New Titan

"Vic, did you run the full analysis on the Arctic Sentinel data"

Cyborg gave a nod to Nightwing as he continued to run diagnostics on the Zeta-Tube terminals.

"The Arctic Sentinel was transporting a Father Box and the ship was ordered to move under the orders of Lex"

The Father Box is not only from the fourth world but since it is from Apokolips, not New Genesis, Dick knew it either meant Darkseid was preparing for war or Lex was playing god again

*Ping Ping Ping*

Both Dick and Vic turned their heads as they noticed a flash of light from the Zeta-Tube.

[ ZETA-BEAM D-07 Recognized: D-12 PRIME]

The flash of light disappeared and the duo noticed a figure approaching them slowly.

'Part man, part machine...I wonder he looks like on the inside'

Jayden appeared and began to use his x-ray vision as he began to analyse Victor however Victor's right arm immediately changed into a Cannon and began to shoot Jayden.

"What's the problem Vic" questioned Dick as he took a battle stance.

The blast released from the Cannon tore through the air with a shriek of energy, erupting in a brief but violent explosion that scorched the metal floor and flooded the chamber with smoke and heat.

Cyborg left arm turned into a shield and the right into a plasma cannon, the dust around Jayden began to disappear and they saw him standing right there... unscathed.

"My bad, I was just curious but I guess the Mother box doesn't like prying eyes"

Within an instant Jayden appeared infront of Victor, apologized and he began to introduce himself.

"Welcome to the Titan tower, you must Clark and Lois's son...I am Nightwing and this is Cyborg"

"Clark...AS IN SUPERMAN!!!" Victor screamed as he heard Dick.

Victor quickly cleared his throat as he noticed the alarmed gazes of Jayden and Dick, despite Victor's surprising outburst Jayden understood why.

Superman represents what Cyborg struggles with... maintaining humanity while carrying massive power and responsibility.

Cyborg often feels conflicted about his machine side, so seeing someone like Superman

A being with near-godlike powers who stays compassionate gives him hope.

Nightwing looked at Jayden and said:

"Victor sees Superman as a symbol of hope and strength"

Jayden began to nod because he too admired Superman before his awakening.

"Umm... can I ask, Aside from you guys who are the other Titans...I am a JL and the Outsiders fan no offence"

Seeing that Jayden was clueless, Dick decided to fill him in.

"Conner had only one Job and failed, why am I not surprised

Our primary members are Beast Boy, Raven, Starfire, Wonder girl(Donna Troy), Impulse and Prime...well you"

The numbers were less than he expected because his expectations were very high.

'This feels like a team of babysitter's... Why do I feel like Bruce suggested this line up'

"Is this all your luggage"

Jayden noticed that Nightwing was pointing at the single travel bag he was carrying, he simply gave him a nod without further explanation.

' Well, I need a single bag because I've got to replace everything anyway.

Every time I move too fast, my clothes rip apart, tried texting and I poked clean through the screen.

And the moment I get aroused? my pants don't stand a chance, I'm broke and tired... but I can't exactly tell him all that now, can I?'

" While Cyborg runs diagnostics on the Zeta-Tube terminals...let me give you a tour"

....

Nightwing gave Jayden a quick tour of the essentials starting with the main hall where team meetings were held, then the command center, the medbay, and the garage housing the T-Jet and several modified cycles.

They passed the tech labs, the gym, and the living quarters, but skipped most of the personal spaces.

Jayden didn't ask many questions, just took mental notes.

The lab and the library caught his interest the most, but he kept that to himself until Nightwing asked.

"How do you like the tour so far?"

""Library and lab, those stood out"

Nightwing nodded. "Figures."

"We are here"

The duo soon arrived at the male dormitory wing, a separate floor from the female quarters.

The split was standard protocol in Titans Tower meant to promote privacy, a healthy environment, and team harmony.

Everyone had their own space.

Jayden's room was between Impulse's and Beast Boy's, though it didn't seem like either of them were in.

"This wing's just for the guys," Nightwing said casually. "Keeps things balanced. Fewer awkward situations, you know?"

Jayden gave a small nod, taking mental note of the layout without saying much.

They soon arrived at the door to Jayden's room.

It looked like the others along the hall

reinforced steel with a matte black finish, sleek and minimal, but with subtle tech embedded into the surface.

A small panel near the handle pulsed faintly, clearly designed for identi-card swipes and biometric scans.

Nightwing stepped forward, pulled a thin black card from his belt, and swiped it across the panel.

The scanner beeped once, then flashed green as the door unlocked with a soft click.

He turned to Jayden and held out the card.

"This one's yours now.

It's synced to your biometrics fingerprint, retina, the whole deal.

You'll need it for your room, labs, transport systems, and mission access."

Jayden took the card without a word, briefly weighing it in his hand.

"Remember Team meetings are mandatory and we respect the rules of the tower"

Jayden entered the room as soon as Dick left, the interior room fascinated him to a great degree.

The bed sat near the wall, low and wide, reinforced with Promethium.

Strong enough to survive if he dropped into it too hard or tossed around in his sleep.

A solar lamp hummed softly from above, its warm yellow glow mimicking sunlight nothing too strong, but enough to keep his body comfortable while he rested.

The storage unit was there, mostly empty.

A few shelves, untouched and the drawers had space but held nothing however It was just... space not much else.

In the corner, a study table waited, clean and simple.

No chair yet, just the built-in holographic interface rising softly from the surface.

Tabs hovered, waiting to be used news feeds, mission logs, comms.

' What if, Batman is watching me...let me check just in case '

Jayden narrowed his eyes and began scanning the room.

He used x-ray vision first, sweeping slowly from wall to wall.

Then microscopic vision, checking the corners, the seams, the vents.

After that, telescopic vision, focusing on distant layers, angles, even the outer panels.

And finally, a light burst of infrared vision, just enough to test for hidden sensors or cloaked devices.

Nothing.

He found no trackers, no bugs, no cameras. No signs of surveillance.

But he did notice something else.

The walls had a very thin layer of lead coating not enough to be alarming, but just thick enough to block his vision from seeing into the neighboring rooms.

'Well they don't know my character very well so these are just precautions but no surveillance indicates that they trust me to a certain degree'

Jayden let go of his travel bag and threw himself on the bed as he began to relax, he couldn't help but look forward to tomorrow.
