Chapter 117: The Three Fools

They had almost forgotten he was even there until James spoke just now.

Lord Lestrange looked at the back wall where the impact had occurred. Something had passed by them and pierced the wall, leaving a large hole in it, but he was sure it wasn't a spell… but a physical object projected at great speed, akin to a projectile.

However, piercing that wall should not have been possible. This was an ancient magical house, and its walls were all heavily reinforced by magic. Even more so for the main hall, as it was one of the most important places in the entire manor.

James pulled another grape from the bunch and held it between his fingers.

"Did you not hear me? Put the wands down."

Lord Rosier became enraged.

"Boy! Who do you think you are?! You will talk to us with the proper res—"

Another projectile passed by them… this time, it hit the double wooden gates and sent one of them tumbling to the ground.

Now they had all been paying attention to James, so they saw exactly what he had done.

Everyone saw him flick his fingers and make that grape shoot out with the force of a medieval cannon.

"And that was the last warning I will give you." James placed another grape between his fingers as before.

The trick with the grapes was a simple 'Protego' charm formed around the grape and then launched with a wandless banishing charm. With this, you can use any object as ammunition, and no matter what you use, they would be akin to steel bullets thanks to the shield around the object.

He glanced at Lord Rosier, Lestrange, and Malfoy.

"Does any of you want to be remembered as the fool who was killed by a grape?"

Malfoy looked at his two companions. They were as hesitant as he was, but now was not the moment to back down. He instead addressed the host.

"Lord Black, what is the meaning of this? You invited us to your home just to destroy our alliance and spit in our faces, and now this boy sitting at your right is threatening to kill us… are you going to sit there and do nothing?!"

Lord Pollux's dark eyes could barely hide his contempt at this moment.

"Should you really be the one to be offended right now, Lord Malfoy? The three of you are still holding your wands while in my presence. And yes, that cane is not fooling anyone."

"F-Father, maybe we shoul—"

"You shut your damn mouth!" Pollux snapped at his son.

"I will deal with you later, you useless brat!." His eyes never left the three Lords. There was no telling what was going through their heads, but it didn't seem like they were willing to back down.

While they were arguing, James moved his other hand under the table, removed a black ring from his finger, and sent it rolling to the other side of the room.

"Mm?" Malfoy heard a strange noise beneath the table. His right hand was still clutching firmly onto his cane, ready to pull his wand in a second.

"Abraxas…" Edwin Lestrange called for his attention.

Malfoy made eye contact with his companion and knew exactly what he wanted to know. He nodded in response.

If they turned around and left now with their tails between their legs, without having accomplished anything… the Dark Lord was not going to be happy. They had already seen what happens to those who displease him.

Compared to that, fighting a boy with grapes in his hand and an old man who was at death's door not long ago… it didn't look too bad.

James kept close attention on the three men, and thanks to his magic, he was capable of enhancing his senses and perceiving every single one of their moves as if they made them in slow motion.

Lord Rosier may have looked decrepit, but his wand skills had not decreased over the years. He was lightning fast with his moves and the first threat James had to assess.

"Avada Kedav—"

James flicked his fingers, and the grape in his hand shot out faster than a normal bullet, piercing Lord Rosier's head from front to back.

Lord Lestrange was standing up from his chair while pointing his wand at James. His mouth opened and he muttered something. The tip of his wand began to emit an eerie light.

James's right hand was touching the wooden table and could easily transmute its surface.

Before Edwin Lestrange could release his spell, he felt something hit his belly with tremendous force before he was sent back until he hit the wall.

"Ahhh!" He felt a stinging pain in his chest and abdomen, and when he looked down, he realized he had been stabbed.

From the table, a massively long wooden spike had formed and pierced Lord Lestrange's body, leaving him stuck against the wall.

Malfoy removed his wand.

"Nyxaris," James muttered.

The black ring was now behind Malfoy. The moment James made the call, it transformed into a tiny girl with wings.

James did not need to give her any vocal commands. He and Nyxaris shared a mental connection, and she knew exactly what she was supposed to do.

Lord Malfoy only got as far as extending his wand arm toward James. But before he could even open his mouth, he saw a flash of light pass in front of him.

The next thing he saw was his arm falling onto the ground while blood burst from the stump.

"What?…" Malfoy was in shock. He didn't even feel any pain yet. His eyes moved down and he looked at his severed arm. It had been cut at the height of his elbow and was still grasping his wand.

A little fairy flew quickly in front of him, grabbed his arm, and moved away.

"W-Wait! That's mine!" Abraxas Malfoy shouted at her.

"Master." The fairy descended in front of James and deposited the arm in front of him, as she was tasked to do.

"Ahhhh!" Malfoy let out a bloodcurdling scream. His brain had finally processed what was happening, and the pain caught up to him.

James glared at the three Lords with cold eyes. He felt no pity for any of them. Their poor decisions had led them to this moment.

"You should have listened to my warnings… instead, you made the worst possible decision."
