"How long will it take for Casian to wake?" Aldric asked, his voice low but heavy with restrained urgency.
Darius straightened, his hands clasped behind his back as he stood before the king in the study. The weight of the question wasn't lost on him and truthfully, he had no definitive answer.
"Selene has assured us that the Alpha only needs time to recover," Darius said carefully, choosing his words with precision. "The magic has been purged. His body is healing, but… it must happen on its own terms."
Aldric's brow furrowed, clearly unsatisfied. He turned away, his gaze drifting to the rain-laced windows of the estate. "Time," he repeated bitterly. "The same excuse everyone gives when they don't know what comes next."
Darius hesitated, then added, "The Luna has been with him since the night of the attack. She's remained by his side without rest. If sheer will could wake him, Your Highness, I believe he would've opened his eyes the moment she called his name."
