Chapter 526 - Chapter 1075: "Deicide"

Chapter 1075: Deity-Slaying

The Heretic (Evil) Deity is Awakening?!

Staring into those innocent yet aberrant eyes, an overwhelming shock struck Grandmaster Situ's heart, almost causing his mental defenses to collapse.

A deep and visceral fear surged within him, sending chills throughout his entire body.

Yet as the Grand Elder of the Mysterious Secrets Valley, Situ had weathered countless storms in his life. Despite the terror gripping him, he forced himself to stay calm. Drawing upon the last sliver of clarity in his divine sense, he fought to think.

After a few breaths, a revelation struck him:

"No—It hasn't awakened yet!"

"If the Heretic Deity had truly awakened, the disturbance wouldn't stop here. All of us would already be facing an unimaginable slaughter."

"It's not awake... yet!"

Situ turned his gaze again toward Yu'er's eyes.

Those childlike eyes carried a trace of corruption, but clearly still held confusion and innocence—one could even glimpse a sliver of goodness within them.

These weren't the eyes of a deity of corruption.

But... they were getting close.

Situ could feel it clearly—the goodness in Yu'er's eyes was fading, little by little.

Humanity was dissolving. Aberrance was growing.

That childish innocence was transforming into coldness and cruelty.

As if all life in the world was mere grass and dust—offerings, sacrificial straw dogs to be consumed by "It."

And within Yu'er's divine body, something was trembling faintly, as if something was slowly hatching... awakening...

"Kill it—now!"

At that moment, only one thought echoed in Situ's mind.

If they didn't kill it now, everything would be lost.

He raised the Seven-Star Sword high, intending to drive it straight into Yu'er's chest.

But in the next moment—BOOM—an invisible force engulfed him from all directions, as if he were drowning in the deep sea. He lifted his head and saw, on Yu'er's childlike face, a terrifying aura of majesty had quietly emerged.

Situ's heart quivered with fear, panic, and the urge to submit.

As though he were nothing but an ant... a lowly servant, unworthy of defying the divine.

He even felt the instinct to kneel before Yu'er.

His knees bent slightly. His back began to hunch.

But then, the light from the Six-Sun Crimson-Gold Lamp flickered—

And Situ suddenly came back to himself, realizing what he was doing. A chill surged through his heart.

Divine Authority!

Mortal flesh must submit to divine might!

This was the law of divine power.

A great horror welled up in Situ's chest.

Unborn, and yet this terrifying aura already radiated from it—just a single look had nearly forced him to bow.

Once it fully descended and released its complete divine power, he might not even be able to think of resisting.

"It must die!"

"All beings are straw dogs. All life is an offering." —That was no exaggeration.

Situ pressed his finger to his forehead, connecting with the North Star Seven Constellation Array, borrowing the power of the stars to resist the deity's oppressive aura.

At the same time, he strove to eliminate all personal emotion—fear, anxiety, dread—erasing everything, and instilled in himself only one belief:

Kill the Heretic Deity, no matter the cost.

As divine pressure waned and the suffocating force receded, Situ forced down the urge to submit and the fear of defiance. With trembling hands and clenched teeth, he thrust the Seven-Star Sword toward Yu'er.

The blade's star-forged light came within three inches of Yu'er's chest.

The sharp blue glow began to threaten the corrupted will within.

Yu'er's expression twisted with horror, and she let out a piercing shriek.

That scream was filled with fury at all mortals—an overwhelming sound that churned Situ's blood, pierced his mind, and threatened to tear his very soul apart.

Still, he endured it all, struggling to drive the sword forward.

Yu'er shrieked again, this time even more piercing and violent.

It wasn't just a scream—it carried blade-like mental energy, like a howling storm, slashing Situ all over.

He felt himself trapped in a tempest of divine force, each step like moving through a hurricane of razors.

Still, he clenched his teeth. If he could just drive the blade an inch deeper—it might pierce the "Heretic Embryo's" chest.

The light of the Seven Stars would cleanse all sin and dissolve the looming disaster.

But then—he heard a crack.

Then another. And another. A chorus of cracks filled the air.

Situ immediately realized what was happening—

Demonic Eggs.

All around, the eggs of demonspawn were hatching.

Sensing danger, the unborn deity had screamed—forcing its demonspawn to break free early and defend their divine master.

One after another, the black eggs shattered. Dark blood spilled. Monstrous beings, cloaked in filth and corruption, began to emerge from their rotting shells and slowly stand.

Even the three colossal fetal demon eggs beside the Heretic Deity began to shake. Their surfaces cracked.

Like the earlier pink-fleshed womb demon, these were divine-blooded fetal demons—each containing a fragment of divine law—and were about to hatch.

They were meant to descend with the deity, as its personal guard.

But now, sensing the Seven-Star Array's threat, the deity had no choice but to summon them early.

As egg after egg split open, waves of foul energy billowed forth. Countless demons began to appear...

Situ's heart trembled. He shouted to the others:

"Spare nothing—help me slay the Heretic Deity!"

The Ancestor of the Spirit Talisman Sect abandoned his battle with the Xiao Family Patriarch and began using talismans of suppression to hold down Yu'er—the Heretic Embryo—and ease Situ's burden.

The Ancestor of the Lesser Spirit Sect unleashed a flurry of spells, clearing out the hatching demons nearby.

The Grand Elders of the Grand Luo Sect and Kunjou Prefecture continued to restrain the corrupted Xiao Family Patriarch.

Other Ascended Realms also joined in, cutting down more and more demonspawn.

But none of them dared to strike at Yu'er herself.

Situ had warned them before they arrived—

Only the Seven-Star Sword could be used to slay the Heretic Embryo.

No other divine technique, no artifact of will or soul, must come into contact with the Heretic Embryo's body—or else, consequences beyond imagination would follow.

The Heretic Embryo was the fetus of divine descent—an embodiment of corrupt law—not something that could be killed by mere divine arts.

Killing "It" the wrong way might result in something even more horrifying.

It might even entangle the killer in unfathomable karmic doom.

And this karma—this consequence—could only be borne by Situ himself, who had chosen to face his destined death tribulation.

This was his fate.

It was also the greatest obstacle in slaying a deity.

Thus, everyone else could only attack the surrounding demons, fetal demons, and the Xiao Family Patriarch—to buy time and space for Situ.

Even the Spirit Talisman Sect's ancestor dared only to suppress the Heretic Embryo, not destroy it.

Countless accompanying demons hatched, dripping black blood as they charged toward the cultivators.

An old crone summoned the Six Ding and Six Jia spirits; a Daoist raised his peachwood sword; three brothers activated the Eight Trigrams Escape Formation; a woman in white rang her Tranquility Bell—each performing divine arts to slay demons and shield Grandmaster Situ.

Situ himself cast aside all distractions—his life, his death, his fear.

All of it.

Daoist Master Situ disregarded everything around him—his own life and death, his fear—he cast it all aside.

His gaze was cold, focused solely on slaying the evil god.

The overwhelming divine pressure in the surroundings caused fractures to appear in his soul.

The all-pervasive coercion nearly suffocated him.

Yet, Daoist Master Situ still recited incantations, using the Seven-Star Formation and the Six-Yang Red-Gold Chalice for protection. Bearing the immense pressure, he pushed the Seven-Star Sword in his hand, inch by inch, toward Yu'er's chest.

A look of panic appeared on "Yu'er's" face.

A piercing, wretched screech exploded from her mouth.

The screech instantly shattered the massive embryonic demon egg around them.

The egg cracked rapidly, blood splattering the ground. As the foul aura surged, two even more powerful embryonic demons hatched from within.

One was a Human-Faced Spider Demon.

Its face was a patchwork of human features, crimson eyes, a pale white body, limbs exposing bone, and even its belly was stitched with contorted, grotesque human faces.

These faces struggled and screamed, so disturbing that even a glance weakened the soul and birthed terror.

The other was a Rotting Embryonic Demon.

With a bloated head and large ears, its entire body was decaying flesh, oozing pus.

That pus carried the power of corruption. Just a touch would corrode a person's soul with its filth.

These two embryonic demons, though of peak third-grade level, embodied vile, corrupt laws.

Daoist Master Situ sensed the immense threat and his expression changed slightly.

The other divine sense cultivators dared not slacken in the slightest.

One Daoist immediately wiped his peachwood sword with blood drawn from his soul, then raised it, transforming it into a streak of sword light that slashed toward the rotting demon.

The sword was immensely powerful and severed the demon's right arm in a single stroke.

But the next moment, the demon's pus flowed upward, and its flesh began to regenerate.

When the Daoist retrieved his peachwood sword, he found it tainted with filthy blood and rotting flesh—its spiritual power already corroded. He was heartbroken.

At that moment, the Human-Faced Spider Demon let out a terrifying roar.

The Daoist's mental defenses momentarily collapsed. It felt as if he had been cast into endless darkness. The many horrifying moments from his hundreds of years of cultivation resurfaced in his mind. Fear seeped from the depths of his soul.

"Not good…"

The Daoist realized the danger and tried to regain composure, but it was already too late. The Human-Faced Spider Demon had drawn close. Its horrifying human face opened wide into a pitch-black maw and lunged at the Daoist's head.

Fortunately, at that critical moment, the old crone summoned the Six Ding and Six Jia Spirits, who shielded the Daoist and forcibly clutched the spider demon's head.

The Human-Faced Spider Demon began to roar again in terror.

The white-robed Daoist woman immediately activated the Three Pure Bells, breaking the demon's sonic attack.

The Daoist regained some clarity of mind.

But before anyone could catch their breath, the eldest of the three brothers—who had been using Qimen Dunjia to ward off the demons around Daoist Master Situ—suddenly cried out:

"Zhao Zhenren, what are you doing?!"

The one called Zhao Zhenren was the burly man covered in talismans.

Though gravely wounded and in recovery, he was now walking step by step toward the Pink Embryonic Demon, which the Talisman Sect Patriarch had sealed. Like one possessed, he reached out and began to remove the sealing talismans.

The talismans burned his arm down to the bone.

But on his face was an expression of intoxicated obsession, as if for the sake of the one he "loved," for that soul-devouring desire—any sacrifice was worth it.

The battle with the companion demons and embryonic demons was fierce and perilous.

No one noticed the man's abnormal behavior.

By the time they did, it was already too late.

Having sacrificed one of his arms, the man broke the talisman seal. The Pink Embryonic Demon broke free and immediately kissed him on the lips.

His face showed infatuation, but the flesh on his face began to rot and distort.

Everyone was horrified.

Before they could react, the Human-Faced Spider Demon screamed again.

This terrifying shriek, combined with the gruesome image of the rotting man, deeply shook everyone's hearts, seeding fear.

Fortunately, the white-robed Daoist woman summoned her remaining divine sense and activated the Three Pure Bells once more.

The bells were a supreme treasure, infinitely powerful, but consumed divine sense rapidly.

Thus far, she had used the bell multiple times to resolve crises. Her divine sense was already depleted, and her soul was fraying.

Even so, she gritted her teeth and triggered the "Evil-Cleansing" chime one more time in the nick of time.

The clear, piercing bell sound dispersed fear and blocked out the Spider Demon's roar.

The Daoist immediately drove his peachwood sword forward, piercing one of the demon's faces with a radiant golden light.

But the pierced face contorted viciously and clamped down tightly on the peachwood sword. Even as the sword's aura shredded it, it refused to let go.

The blade, already tainted with rot, was now further corroded by the Spider Demon's saliva, slowly turning into decayed wood.

The Daoist's expression changed dramatically.

Just then, a sudden roar rang out:

"Second Brother!"

Looking toward the sound, they saw that the second of the Qimen Dunjia brothers had somehow gained a red lip mark on his neck. It was rapidly spreading.

He now turned against his own brothers, viciously attacking them while muttering madly:

"She is mine. She loves me. You can't have her. You must die!"

The Qimen Dunjia technique relied on the unity of the three brothers.

Now that one was afflicted by demonic charm, the formation collapsed on its own.

Their formation had been the most solid "shield" in this expedition. Now that it had broken, the cultivators' defensive line against the demons completely fell apart.

Demons hatched from the egg surged forth like a tidal wave…

With the emergence of the three embryonic demons, despair slowly engulfed everyone's hearts.

Elsewhere, the Patriarch of the Da Luo Sect was locked in deadly battle with the corrupted Patriarch of the Xiao Family. But as they fought, the former realized a deep blackness had begun to taint his own body. The evil thoughts in his heart were growing.

Meanwhile, the fallen Xiao Patriarch looked increasingly sinister and cruel, as though he had foreseen all of this.

"Am I... being assimilated..."

The Patriarch of the Da Luo Sect looked ashen and defeated.

Seeing everything around him, Master Situ felt his heart turn completely cold.

He knew—it was all over.

Everyone here... was truly going to die.

"So be it..." Master Situ's gaze suddenly turned resolute, and a calm acceptance settled in his heart.

He had come on this journey with the resolve to die. Death wasn't what he feared. What terrified him was that they would die, but the Evil Fetus would live.

If that happened, then the deaths of ten Ascendants and four Voidbreak cultivators would be utterly meaningless.

Master Situ turned to Yu'er, his expression suddenly becoming incomparably severe.

"Evil spawn, die with me!"

In that instant, Master Situ erupted with a powerful conviction. Fueled by fury and unshakable resolve, he summoned nearly all of his divine soul's strength and plunged the Seven-Star Sword downward with all his might.

This strike truly disregarded life and death, carrying an extraordinary power of will.

Even the divine might of the Evil Fetus could not withstand it.

The Evil Fetus screamed in agony but could not stop Master Situ's unrelenting determination.

The tip of the Seven-Star Sword pushed forward, inch by inch.

Its starlight finally pierced Yu'er—wounding the true form of the Evil God within.

Yu'er's chest reddened from the burning brilliance of the stars.

Cracks also began to appear on his abdomen.

A sharper, more piercing scream erupted from Yu'er's mouth, rousing the Old Ancestor of the Xiao Clan, the three fetal demons, and countless accompanying fiendish beings. With terror and fury, they charged toward Master Situ.

The Voidbreak cultivators of the Da Luo Sect and the remaining Ascendant masters had already glimpsed their fates. Now, they threw everything they had into one final effort, unleashing their divine consciousness techniques to block the Evil God's minions and buy Master Situ a final sliver of time.

Master Situ clenched his teeth until his gums bled, enduring the soul-wrenching pain as his divine soul twisted under the Evil God's pressure, and drove the Seven-Star Sword even deeper.

Wherever the sword's light reached, Yu'er screamed ceaselessly. His abdomen finally split open, revealing a gaping wound that continued to tear wider and wider.

Wenren Wan felt as if her heart were being ripped apart, yet she could do nothing. All she could do was watch in anguish.

Tears surged from her eyes, blurring her vision—as if the heavens themselves did not wish for her to see the cruel scene that was about to unfold.

A flicker of guilt, and then a final resolve, appeared in Master Situ's eyes.

"I'm sorry..."

With the last of his divine soul, he thrust the Seven-Star Sword downward, aiming to pierce Yu'er's chest and end it all.

But at that exact moment, a pitch-black little hand suddenly reached out from Yu'er's abdomen and grabbed the tip of the sword.

Master Situ's pupils shrank.

The power of the Big Dipper stars surged, slicing at the black hand— But that hand was as hard as stone.

Its divine force was terrifying.

"A divine body?!"

Master Situ's breath caught. His heart skipped a beat.

An overwhelming terror engulfed him.

Yet, before falling into utter despair, Master Situ summoned his final shred of courage. He tried one last time to fight the Evil God—hoping to kill It with the Seven-Star Sword.

But no matter how much strength he exerted, the blade didn't budge, as if embedded in solid rock.

That pitch-black evil power even began to seep into the Seven-Star Sword.

Then—crack—right before his eyes, the black little hand crushed the sword into pieces.

The Seven-Star Sword... shattered...

Master Situ's face turned ghostly pale.

He knew—it was truly over.

After crushing the sword, the black hand slowly emerged from Yu'er's abdomen.

Then came an arm, a leg, a body wrapped in sinful membranes, soaked in black fetal fluid. And then, a head—

A child's head, with a face resembling Yu'er, but crowned with twisted ram horns.

Time seemed to freeze.

Accompanied by a suffocating, dreadful heartbeat, the true form of the Evil God of the Great Wilderness was finally... born.

It slowly opened its eyes—and let out its first cry.

The cry was not piercing, but it contained an unimaginable terror that made heaven and earth change color. It spread outward along the threads of fate and the Dao—reaching across the entire world in an instant.

...

Qianxue Continent, atop the Sword Observation Pavilion

All Voidbreak Patriarchs simultaneously felt a wave of unbearable dread.

Every cultivator below Voidbreak trembled with fear.

Around the Heaven-Slaughter Blood Sacrifice Array, where righteous and demonic cultivators were locked in battle, all suddenly froze, overwhelmed by a dreadful, unknown presence. Fear and confusion clouded their faces.

Righteous cultivators felt as though something unimaginable had awakened. Their chests tightened, nearly suffocating them.

Demonic cultivators, though equally terrified, grew increasingly fanatical in their expressions.

They knew—the Divine Lord had awakened.

This world would now enter an era of true bloodshed.

A true feast of slaughter was upon them.

Within the Blood Sacrifice Array, in the grand hall of the Flesh Maze— Sensing the dreadful birth of the Evil God, all the demons within fell into a crazed frenzy.

At the edge of the Flesh Maze, above the blood pool— Sensing the overwhelming aura of the Evil God, Mo Hua slowly opened his eyes.

The Evil God had awakened— And he... had been awakened by the Evil God.
