Chapter 1079: Here to Claim You
Having lost the Heavenly (Qiankun) Pure Light Lamp, the Six Yang Red Gold Lamp was also shattered; the power of his divine consciousness was all but gone, and it was further suppressed by the "Divine Authority" law. Master Situ's face wore desolation—he could only await death.
His fate was already sealed.
The Evil God's true embryo was about to spray a mouthful of black mist to kill Master Situ, when suddenly it recalled something. It split its lips into a grin, flashed in front of Master Situ, opened its huge mouth to reveal its fangs, and bit into his body—snapping off his left arm at the shoulder. It mauled the arm a few times and then swallowed it whole.
The primordial spirit is also one of a cultivator's essential sources.
With his primordial spirit's arm severed, Master Situ immediately felt excruciating pain, and cold sweat poured down his face.
But what terrified him even more was that after the Evil God consumed his left arm, it was nourished by his divine soul. Its wrinkled skin gradually smoothed and filled out; its divine body grew taller and larger; and its aura strengthened noticeably.
In that instant, Master Situ realized why all the divine-consciousness cultivators on this journey had only been "corrupted" rather than utterly slain.
It wasn't merely because their realms were high and their divine consciousness strong—so the demons could only corrupt them with the law of malevolent spirits, unable to kill them outright.
The main reason was that these demons were preparing "food" for their Divine Lord.
The Evil God needed to feed.
It planned to use them as "bait"—to replenish and strengthen itself, making up for its weakness at birth and the deficiency of its innate origin.
The four Dongxu Primordial Spirits and the ten Ascended Primordial Spirits comprised an immensely powerful fighting force—and at the same time were extraordinarily plentiful "sacrifices."
That would be enough for this newly born Evil God to feed on for a long time—and would allow it to mature rapidly, awaken its divine abilities, and restore its original true-god strength.
Once the Great Wilderness Evil God matured, became a true god, and descended into the world, the Qianxue Zhou realm would truly perish…
Bitter pain and regret filled Master Situ's heart.
"We failed to slay the Evil God—yet have instead become the bait feeding it, becoming the sinners responsible for its world-destruction?"
The Evil God's face looked innocent yet eerie. It stretched its huge mouth wide, revealing bone-white fangs, ready to bite off Master Situ's head directly.
At this point, the situation was fatal. No one could save him. Master Situ's face turned pale and despondent.
The Evil God's pitch-black maw drew ever closer.
Suddenly, Wenren Wan subconsciously shouted urgently, "Stop!"
Master Situ was stunned, then his expression turned to shock.
What astonished him was that upon hearing Wenren Wan's words, the huge mouth before him truly halted.
The Evil God did not continue to bite down, did not swallow his head.
By instinct, it dared not disobey its mother's command and refrained from killing him.
Master Situ froze for a moment, then his heart suddenly trembled as he understood:
Mother and child share one heart!
The Evil God's true embryo had been hatched using Yuer as its divine embryo—they shared one origin and coexisted.
And Wenren Wan was Yuer's mother.
In other words, in a sense, Wenren Wan was also the "mother" of this Evil God.
The mother–child law of Heaven and Earth naturally applied to this Evil God as well.
Therefore, it did not dare defy the command of its birth mother.
At that realization, Master Situ's heart filled with shock.
He had completely misjudged the situation!
From the very beginning, the myriad malevolent spirits in this nightmare had not dared harm Wenren Wan, because she was their Divine Lord's "birth mother."
At the same time, deep remorse welled up in Master Situ's heart.
Cultivators knew very little about the matters of Evil Gods.
This lack of knowledge about divine principles had never led him to suspect that such a mother–child law governed this Evil God.
Otherwise, Wenren Wan would have been their greatest asset on this journey!
They could have exploited this Evil God law—using Wenren Wan as the core—to devise a plan to slay the god, leveraging the mother–child bond to counterbalance the Evil God.
By utilizing the innate "mother–child" law of all things to oppose the "Divine Authority" law that gods possess.
In that way, their chances of victory would have been far greater…
Regret filled Master Situ's heart.
But the Evil God's true embryo was even angrier.
It did not consider Wenren Wan its mother.
A mere mortal body—how could it befit the mother of a deity? Yet the mother–child law indeed constrained this Evil God.
It roared in fury, emitting a piercing scream, then intended to resume devouring Master Situ.
But Wenren Wan's command had already been spoken. No matter that it was an Evil God, it simply could not disobey, could not strike Master Situ down.
Its fury only intensified. After a moment, its gaze flickered; an eerie light gleamed, as though recalling something from its innate memory. Then it turned its head and walked toward Yuer.
Seeing the Evil God no longer eating him, Master Situ's terror eased for an instant.
But in the blink of an eye, seeing it walk toward Yuer, his heart leaped up again.
In that lightning-fast moment, Master Situ understood what the Evil God intended:
It would devour the child and consume the mother!
Wenren Wan had given birth to Yuer.
The Evil God was incubated alongside Yuer as its embryo.
Thus the Evil God was bound by the mother–child law born of Heaven and Earth, and the causal bond of that law was Yuer.
As long as it ate Yuer, it would sever the causal bond, and the Evil God would no longer be constrained by the mother–child law.
Then it would consume Wenren Wan as well, completely resolving that causality.
By devouring the child and consuming the mother, ending their mortal bonds, the Evil God would establish its own causal cycle, no longer bound by Heaven and Earth's mother–child law.
It would truly become lawless and thus become the real Great Wilderness Evil God.
Master Situ was inexplicably terrified: "I can't let Him eat!"
Wenren Wan also reacted, her heart stabbing like a knife. She just wanted to speak, to make the evil god stop, but at that moment, the Human-Faced Spider Demon let out a piercing shriek.
Seven or eight human faces screamed together, their hateful, anguished cries condensing all around, blocking Wenren Wan's voice.
That sound came from Wenren Wan's mouth, but it did not reach the evil god—its law could not take effect.
Wenren Wan could only watch in horror as the evil god's embryonic form took step after step toward Yu'er.
As if sensing imminent danger and the end of his life, Yu'er finally slowly opened his eyes.
He looked at Wenren Wan with clinging affection and timidly said, "Mother…"
Yu'er looked utterly miserable at this moment.
His abdomen had been slit open, his organs gone, his gaze empty, flesh and blood about to perish… just as Wenren Wan had seen in her nightmare.
Wenren Wan's heart was wrung like a blade, her liver and gallbladder felt shattered, and in tears of blood she looked at her child in despair, trying to shout with all her might—but not a single sound escaped.
Master Situ also wanted to stop it, but his divine consciousness was dried up, his skills already exhausted. Powerless, he could only watch this unfold with a face of utter sorrow.
The evil god's embryonic form sneered; its mouth suddenly split open into a blood-pit maw, ready to swallow Yu'er.
Yu'er looked at the grotesque evil god, at its row of jagged fangs and terrible maw, realizing he was about to be eaten, about to die. His expression was full of fear.
At the moment before death, he felt some fear, but even more, deep regret:
He had already seen his mother and fulfilled part of his wish, but…
"It seems… I'll never see… my Brother Mo again…"
This thought escaped his lips.
Suddenly, there was a rumbling, and the entire altar trembled violently.
Everyone was taken aback.
Even the evil god looked stunned for a moment.
It was enraged, but regardless, tried to continue devouring Yu'er. At that moment, an even greater tremor followed.
It was as if some powerful presence, summoned, was forcibly breaking through the nightmare ritual's barrier.
Even the evil god felt a trace of panic in its heart, as though its natural enemy was arriving.
The evil god wasted no time. Its maw snapped down fiercely.
Almost at the same time, the area around the altar suddenly split open. A crack tore through the evil god's nightmare, and a small golden hand shot out from the rift, pressing down on the evil god's skull with overwhelming divine-consciousness power.
A mighty divine-consciousness pressure was imposed upon the evil god.
A voice, clear and innocent but imbued with authority, spoke slowly: "Found you… you little beast!"
"I, Young Lord, have come to claim you!" { claim / end }
In the dazzling golden light, a pure-gold Daoic Body descended.
The entire evil-god nightmare stilled. Then came the thunderous roars of demons enraged.
How dare he press down on the head of the divine lord?
How dare he call the divine lord "little beast"!
This was blasphemy against the divine lord—a sin condemning him to unfathomable punishment!
Not only did the evil god erupt in fury, its divine-pressure like an abyss, but every demon present also felt deeply insulted, issuing earth-shaking, furious roars.
Countless enraged evil-minded howls converged into a violent storm of wickedness, surging outward and causing the entire evil-god nightmare to tremble.
Yet wherever that resplendent golden figure appeared, that fierce divine-pressure and surging demon fury instantly disintegrated, dissipating like wind, unable to so much as tremble its form.
Master Situ's face turned pale as he looked up at that golden figure atop the altar, filled with inexplicable terror:
"There truly exists… something in this world that can suppress an evil god?"
"Who on earth is this… divine being?"
Master Situ fixed his gaze. Under the golden light, he couldn't see clearly, only perceiving a figure about ten years old, extraordinarily handsome, skin like white jade, gender indistinguishable, as though a being from the heavens. All around him, golden light like a robe, divine consciousness as pure as crystal—bright, dazzling like a godly person, radiating such imposing presence that it was hard to look at directly.
Master Situ, seeing this, felt as if he beheld a deity, ashamed of his own insignificance. Yet after a moment's examination, he froze.
Why did this figure… seem somewhat familiar?
How could it be familiar?
How could he recognize a being so close to a "god"?
Master Situ furrowed his brow, utterly perplexed.
At that moment, Yu'er, seeing this golden figure, sensed a familiar aura beneath the radiant light. His once-dim gaze brightened slightly:
"Brother Mo…"
From a distance, Wenren Wan, seeing that unfamiliar yet somehow recognizable golden figure, was astonished, tears welling in her eyes as she murmured:
"Mo Hua…"
Those two words reached Master Situ's ears. At first, they felt vaguely familiar; then, in an instant, his body trembled.
Mo Hua?!
It was… Mo Hua!
"This is… Mo Hua?!"
Distant memories surged through his mind in an instant.
Scenes he had once tried to forget, out beyond Lizhou City, flooded back into his consciousness.
The little junior-nephew of Bai Zhenren of the Bai family.
The younger junior-disciple of that pair of Heaven-Spirit-Root siblings from the Bai clan.
That person was their youngest, final personal disciple.
The child who had somehow survived after having the Heart-Seed Demon of the most vicious, corrupt Daoist planted within him…
The little fellow who had even once asked him how to establish a Foundation (jiàn jī)…
Master Situ inhaled sharply, disbelief choking his voice as if he'd heard a ghost story:
"The being before me, as godlike as a deity… is Mo Hua?"
"He… is a 'man'?"
Meanwhile, on the other side, demon-qi roiled skyward, and evil thoughts surged like a tsunami—yet by Mo Hua's lone presence, he oppressed thousands of fiends, even standing toe-to-toe with the evil god.
The evil god's embryonic form, its skull pressed down beneath Mo Hua's golden hand, roared in fury. But Mo Hua's palm, like a mountain of pure gold, held firm. The evil god, newly born and not yet fully restored in strength, could not possibly break free.
The evil god grew more enraged. Suddenly its pupils darkened as if awakening a new divine power: between the horns atop its head, a potent swirl of malevolent intent coalesced into a pitch-black beam, which it hurled at Mo Hua.
Mo Hua swung his arm, intercepting the killing blow.
Evil intent and golden radiance collided in a fierce explosion. Mo Hua was knocked back a step, and the evil god's embryonic form used that moment to wrench itself free from his grasp.
At the same time, other demons howled and screeched as they charged Mo Hua.
Their powerful demonic energy almost instantly swept in his direction.
Master Situ, instinctively about to warn "Be careful," instead saw Mo Hua's gaze grow cold. With a single lift of his palm, gold-red radiance spread out: the Golden Mountain Cremation Array unfolded. In that moment, metal and stone turned into a cage, and roaring flames rose into a sea of fire, incinerating vast swathes of companion demons.
When those demons died, they released large quantities of filthy evil qi—enough to pollute a cultivator's primordial spirit—but not a shred could touch Mo Hua.
Then, a hidden fragrance rose, and a lovely silhouette appeared.
A supremely beautiful woman, ethereal and white-skinned, had already approached Mo Hua. Her luscious red lips pressed a kiss against his cheek.
Mo Hua turned his head, golden light glimmering in his eyes as he regarded her.
At once, a shriek pierced the air: the Rosy Embryonic Demon screeched, revealing its true form. Its flesh withered and rotted, collapsing into a mound of white bones.
In the next instant, the decayed demon's tentacles lashed out and wrapped around Mo Hua. But in the span of a breath, golden light split in four directions; the entire decayed body of the Embryonic Demon was cut to pieces. Then, with a gesture of Mo Hua's two fingers, a fireball formed and immolated the fragments.
The Human-Faced Spider Demon's features contorted; it emitted a shriek aimed at Mo Hua, its scream full of terrifying resentment, piercing his eardrums.
Mo Hua remained unmoved, turning calmly toward the Spider Demon and bellowing himself.
That roar was like a dragon's cry from the Nine Heavens—divine might unleashed—shattering all seven or eight faces of the Spider Demon into fragments.
Thousands of companion demons were, in a blink, casually slaughtered by Mo Hua.
Even three powerful fetal-born demonic creatures could not withstand a single clash with him.
Before Master Situ, a scene of utter, one-sided, crushing divine-consciousness massacre played out mercilessly.
Master Situ was utterly stunned, repeatedly asking himself:
"Is this even a 'man'?"
"Can a human truly do such things?"
"Is all that I'm seeing actually happening? Or is it some final hallucination before death?"
