Rowland had taken his bath not too long ago. By now, he should have been at the sporting complex, waiting for the king like always. But instead, he stood in front of his wardrobe, still trying to get dressed.
He was never the type to be late. He hated procrastination. But this morning was different. Everything felt off. His routine had been messed up the moment the king sent him a message last night. After their meeting, the king had ordered him to interrogate the men who had harassed Queen Fortuna.
They confessed, yes, but something in their story didn't sit right with him. It didn't match what the queen told everyone.
Fortuna claimed she went to check the complex and was attacked on her way back. But according to the men, they didn't follow her from anywhere. They saw her coming out of a certain building—the black market.
