During the meeting with the counselors, my mind just wouldn't stay put. It kept drifting back to Katrina. I couldn't forget last night—how everything started rocky but ended in a way I never expected. She stirred something deep in me. She's like the moon I've been searching for all my life, the one that never shows up when you need it most. And the sun—warm, bright, but missing for years. That's what she feels like to me. She doesn't have to try hard, she just is, and I was already gone the moment I saw her. I didn't even stop to think. I fell for her, completely, hopelessly.
"Your Highness," Rowland's voice pulled me back to the room. I turned to him, a little startled, and that's when I saw every eye in the chamber fixed on me. One of the counselors was already standing in front of me, holding out some documents.
I blinked. I had no idea why he was there.
