"To be frank..I am not interested in your tech." - Bakzeu whispered as he raised his index finger before an array of red-coloured circular apparitions emanated from it that cloaked the unconscious young man before quickly vanishing.
"I just..—"
- He stepped outside of the doorway, face filled with solemnity as his eyes were glazed as if remembering a bygone memory;
Which consisted of the same, faceless young boy running happily in the meadows.
"to..fulfill my promise."
-
"—..Want Azulunu to be Saved."
————
The air hangs heavily as Foryan utters out her declaration; her half-opened eyes and half-completed smile sending a slight discomfort down on Yenna's spine like a sudden molest.
As a sweat drips down from Yenna's porcelain-like skin and falls unto the floor, her mouth twitched before it slightly went agape; as if trying to say something but just couldn't find her voice.
"..U-um.." - As her intonation finally made its way back to her mouth; the entrance of the spotlessly, white tent—
"Sis. Foryan!"
"Ye-yen-yenna..!"
"Wha-what happened..!?"
—Bursted open before three, familiar lasses sprinted inside in a hurry; so much so that they nearly tripped over while trying to reach the curious commander and the pale Yenna.
"..Cha..cha..charlotte..!?" - Yenna exclaims, sweat proliferating on her countenance as she saw the three panting heavily; with the colour on Mila's face even subsiding a little.
"Oh..there you three are." - Foryan sighs; catching Charlotte's attention.
"Si..Sis Foryan!" - The crisp, blonde-haired maiden turned her head towards the casual commander; - "Whe-whe..where's.." - She stammered, causing Foryan to lift her hand upwards before pointing her index finger towards what she wanted to see.
"Kyaaa...!!!" - Mila yelped out, as Layla stares in horror; her irises minimizing while Charlotte silently covered her mouth with a hand, as if very appalled.
"..No..no way..!"
Foryan sighs again, exasperation leaving her chest. - "Easy there you three.. He's still alive." - She dismissed;
"That..that's..true.." - Charlotte glances back at Foryan and then she muttered in an hesitant tone.
"Bu..but Sis.. isn't this.." — Before looking back at the sorry state of Hamilvan.
"A..bit brutal..?" - Charlotte nasally commented, her tone hitched at the back of her throat.
Foryan shrugged her shoulders and scoffed, a slight smile etching itself on her face.
"..I needed to make it look brutal.." - She quietly whispered; causing the blonde-haired lass to lift an eyebrow.
"..did..did you say..something? Si-Sis.. Foryan..?"
"This ough'ta be a good time for these kids.."
—which resulted on the commander rising from her lean on a sturdy table and then straightening her posture with a puffed out chest and a face filled with solemnity as if there existed no smile proliferating there in the first place.
"I commend your timely arrival,
Lieutenant Charlotte,
Private Mila,
and Private Layla;
The First Division Commander lies before you unconscious, battered beyond recognition. I ask you; what should a medical officer do in this situation?
Do they just stand idle? Defeated by their fears?
Or rush in, in an attempt to offer relief to the otherwise pained individual?
What is more important to a medical officer?
Her garments? Her presentableness?
Or the life of a human?
You three, answer the question!
And do so without opening your mouths!"
...
A long, iuninterrupted silence befell on the five aftewards.
...
Yenna, with chest proliferating with an emotion that soared out in the idea of assisting people; found herself moving her feet forward first before she could even think.
*step..—*
*Fwip!*
Until a forearm was raised in front of her general direction, effectively catching her attention with a widened-eye expression, abruptly halting her on her steps.
"..No.. Sis. Yenna.." - Though her back turned, Charlotte's resolute tone told the surprised Yenna everything she needed to know;
"..You've done enough for today."
- Then, Charlotte glanced back at Yenna; though her face was colourated with a warm smile, the slightly teary-eyelids of hers told a different story.
"Hm?"
Hearing Charlotte's remark; Foryan couldn't help but release a soft scoff while a singular eyebrow slightly ascended upwards, her tone laced with amusement.
With that, Charlotte turned back from Yenna and downcasted her front-facing gaze; mind echoing with numerous unsaid, yet defeaning thoughts.
"..i did say that.."
"But..even I am.."
Charlotte's eyes ascended from the floor and towards the battered body of the First Division Commander; the sheer colour of the blood and the opened portions of Hamilvan's skin drying up revealing bits and bits of the flesh underneath; slightly made her determination falter before she flinched and looked away; the sight enough to make her skin crawl.
"..ugh.."
"I..i don't like gore.."
"..I can handle..big wounds.."
"but..never at this scale.."
"Can..I really..do it..?"
"but..I'm..I'm..revolted..!"
"what..what if I mess up..!?"
"..what..would happen to Sir Hamilvan..then..?"
"I'm..I'm scared.."
"plea..please help me..!"
"Oca..oka-okamina..?"
...
- Charlotte subtly winces, before the resonating thoughts inside of her head that spun like a tornado of needles came to an abrupt halt as a distant memory flashed inside of it.
"..!"
Though the silhouettes which was colourated in black remained barely-distinguishable from the darkened surroundings and messy scenery; as if the memory was repeatedly subjected to being forgetting or even.. suppressed.
The memory stopped, and so did the repeated panting on Charlotte's mouth.
"No..no..don't..heh.."
"I'm.."
"..I'm running..away again.."
She internally whispered, though just a singular realization; it echoed with so much intensity inside of her brain that it—
Cracked the numerous unnamable notions that raced inside of it.
As the fragments of those notions fell like glass, she felt her fists clenching while her chest tightened; a type of emotion that held enough vigour to push her to climb mountains and traverse endless oceans, swirling inside of it.
She then straightened her posture, before pausing and then heaving a deep sigh, seeing this; Foryan held a soft, amusement-etched smirk as she watched the Blonde-haired lieutenant rise up from her slouch.
Then she faced Foryan with eyes that held so much resolution—
"Hooh..?"
— that it even made Foryan flinch a little, before she; despite the her foot weighing several hundred pounds lifted it up and took the first step forward, catching the attention of the still hesitant Mila and Layla as well as the focus of the silent, widened-eye Yenna.
Charlotte then towered beside the bed where the unconscious Hamilvan laid on—
before she looked away, fear once again proliferating inside of her head.
"..Not anymore...!"
Until it was silenced by a quick shake of head and a resolute internal declaration.
She then hovered her hands over Hamilvan before it was coated in a yellowish-flame like apparition that began to gradually close Hamilvan's opened wounds.
"Hm." - Foryan smiled.
"Not Bad."
