Chapter 107 - Chapter 106: Xiao Wu vs. Oslo (Part 2)

Fortunately, with Yufeng's warning, Oslo reacted just in time and dodged Xiao Wu's sudden aerial kick.

"Interesting."

Xiao Wu had originally thought Oslo would be defeated instantly due to carelessness, and that he would lose his will to fight.

She hadn't expected that Oslo could actually dodge in such a short moment.

Right now, Oslo was staring at Xiao Wu—who had completed her spirit possession and had grown a pair of rabbit ears—with cold sweat pouring down his back, soaking it completely.

He couldn't believe that Xiao Wu's speed surpassed his.

"Is it a thousand-year third soul skill?"

Oslo's mind raced, and after combing through the scenes he'd seen, he came to this conclusion.

A purple soul ring—it had to be that.

Feeling a bit more at ease, Oslo showed a confident smile.

Oslo's appearance was rather average, even plain, and perhaps because of this, he didn't choose to wear anything flashy.

If not for the school uniform being so yellow and eye-catching, his Ghost Leopard spirit would have granted him better stealth abilities, making it easier for him to launch surprise attacks.

But since this was a one-on-one, there was nothing to complain about.

The next second, Oslo activated his third soul ring.

As the mysterious and eerie third soul ring shone, Oslo made a move—and suddenly, there were two of him.

"Third Soul Skill: Leopard Shadow Clone!"

Oslo crouched slightly, exhaled deeply, and in the next moment, created another clone.

Now, three Oslos charged at Xiao Wu from different angles all at once—

Catching her off guard.

"It's over!"

Yu Tianheng shook his head slightly and said calmly.

With Oslo's speed, even if a typical agility-type soul master could deal with one or two Oslos, they absolutely couldn't defend against the third.

Oslo plus two clones—this was far above the standard level.

But Tang San, surprised by Oslo's soul skill, said nothing. Instead, he smiled slightly, clearly not agreeing with Yu Tianheng's conclusion.

At this moment, facing Oslo's assault, Xiao Wu didn't dodge or retreat. She simply locked eyes on one of the Oslos and smiled.

"Way too easy to see through."

Xiao Wu smirked.

Then, just as Oslo was about to reach her, Xiao Wu suddenly began spinning at high speed on the spot.

As she spun, arcs of lightning crackled around her body, flickering in yellow flashes, following the scorpion-tail braid on her head and releasing a terrifying aura.

In the next second, that electrified braid smashed two of Oslo's clones into pieces.

The real Oslo was then caught by Xiao Wu's high kick to the chin. His eyes rolled back, everything went black, and he collapsed stiffly onto the battle platform.

Oslo lost!

The pace of the match was so fast that most of the audience couldn't react. No one could've expected that Xiao Wu would only use one soul skill to defeat Oslo.

And even more unexpectedly, it was just a normal kick that knocked him unconscious.

Not until the spectators gasped and began expressing their awe at Xiao Wu did she proudly lower her long, fair leg.

"Hey, Yufeng, you fight me next!"

Xiao Wu swung her scorpion-tail braid and looked at Yufeng with excitement in her eyes.

Oslo was far too fragile—she needed another fight.

What Xiao Wu didn't know was that her attack, which was ineffective against Xiao Lin, was more than enough to kill ordinary soul masters.

A kick to a vital spot like the chin, with enough force, could easily knock someone out—or even kill them. That area connects too many important nerves, and a direct heavy blow could be fatal.

"Alright. Since you won, Xiao Wu, you are now officially a team member."

Qin Ming, being a Soul Emperor, had clearly seen that Xiao Wu completely overpowered Oslo in terms of strength, hence her easy victory.

"Yufeng, carry Oslo away. Ye Lingling, heal him."

Qin Ming quickly issued instructions regarding Oslo, then turned to the other members of the Emperor Battle Team.

"You all, analyze Xiao Wu's third soul skill for me—now!"

He gave the order sternly.

This was a habit he developed after reading numerous academic papers written by Xiao Yan (which he recognized were all written by the same person).

These insightful papers not only inspired Qin Ming but also became required reading for the Emperor Battle Team members.

He even made them do comprehension exercises.

The practice of analyzing unknown soul skills based on observations helped them prepare for real battles against unfamiliar opponents.

The only regret Qin Ming had was that Xiao Yan had stopped writing a long time ago.

It had been nearly five years since a new paper was published.

Not that Xiao Lin (Xiao Yan) lacked ideas—he just didn't bother collecting manuscript fees. So why bother publishing?

Most of the foundational concepts had already been published. New ones weren't that impactful. And besides, soul tools and self-condensing soul rings were far more important now.

At this moment, Xiao Lin, standing nearby and listening to the Emperor Battle Team members discussing Xiao Wu's soul skill, found it amusing.

They actually sounded half-convincing.

"There's definitely a speed boost, and it's above 50%."

That was Ning Rongrong's analysis.

Everyone nodded in agreement, knowing how Ning Rongrong's amplification abilities worked.

"There's also lightning damage."

Yu Tianheng added: "Xiao Wu's hair alone destroyed two of Oslo's clones. There's no way that happened without lightning. Even if her braid has some kind of weapon."

Being a soul master who also specialized in lightning, Yu Tianheng's view wasn't questioned.

The only uncertainty was how much of an attack boost the lightning added.

About half a minute passed with no conclusive answer, making Qin Ming frown in dissatisfaction.

In his eyes, Xiao Wu's reaction speed had also clearly improved.

One soul skill with so many effects surprised even him.

"Xiao Wu, why don't you just tell them what your third soul skill does?"

"Huh? I didn't use my third soul skill?"

Xiao Wu was stunned. What was this teacher saying? Is he even reliable?

Hard to imagine anyone would question Qin Ming, the second youngest person ever to become a Soul Emperor.

But Xiao Wu didn't care about the shock on the faces of the Emperor Battle Team or the three instructors. She casually said:

"My second soul skill is Lightning Charge. Right now, it gives a 48% boost to speed and attack. The lightning's damage boost is low—it's mainly used to paralyze enemies."

"Oh, right. The speed enhancement boosts every aspect of the body—reaction time, attack speed, soul power usage speed, thinking speed…"

Xiao Wu shrugged helplessly, not noticing the astonishment on every face except for Xiao Lin and Tang San.

"What!?"

"How is that possible?"

"How can a single skill enhance so many things?"

For a moment, Qin Ming and the others felt like their understanding of the soul master world was falling apart.

"Isn't this totally normal?" Xiao Wu said matter-of-factly. "When you absorb a soul ring, like Oslo, he doesn't just get a speed boost—his physical strength is enhanced too, right? The speed is just the most obvious one."

She looked shocked again.

No way—do even the teachers at Heaven Dou Imperial Academy not understand this stuff?

Of course, Qin Ming and the others knew a soul ring offers more than just soul skills. But those effects are passive.

Xiao Wu's soul skill, however, had multiple active abilities.

Even if those weren't officially separate "soul skills," they functioned like ones.

For instance, the paralyzing lightning effect—Yu Tianheng didn't have a specific soul skill for that, but he could still achieve a similar result with lightning.

Normally though, he used lightning for destruction, not control.

But Xiao Wu's speed enhancement was just too absurd—and it was only her second soul skill!

Could it really be as simple as Xiao Wu claimed?
