Chapter 111: Unexpected Martial Soul Outburst A Sudden Turn of Events

Leaving aside the reaction of the Spirit Hall's enforcement officers, Guang Ling had already taken control of the situation. He strode into the estate's castle and sat directly in the main seat of the hall, casually inviting the original owners to sit down and "relax."

Han Li stood silently behind him, doing his best to minimize his presence.

Once everyone was seated, Guang Ling finally noticed how well his dear disciple had played the role of a proper bodyguard. He originally wanted to invite Han Li to sit, but upon seeing his outright refusal, he decided against it. Fine, let him be.

The atmosphere in the hall was suffocating, with the four members of the host family barely daring to lift their heads.

"Alright, relax. I'm not a bad guy. I already told you, I'm here to take in a disciple on my brother's behalf."

Guang Ling's words only made him seem more menacing. Shui Bing'er even trembled involuntarily.

"Your Eminence, it is truly an honor for Bing'er to be chosen by your brother. But… she is my only daughter, and she is still young. I really can't bear to part with her. Could you perhaps reconsider?"

Su Rou, forcing a smile despite her fear, finally gathered the courage to speak.

"Can't bear to? That's fine, you can come along too. Our Spirit Hall would welcome a Contra level soul master like yourself."

Guang Ling didn't even bother addressing her concerns he simply ran with her excuse.

"Your Eminence must be joking." Su Rou's face darkened even further.

"We're all smart people here. You know very well whether I'm joking or not."

Guang Ling's smile vanished as he swept his cold gaze over them.

"Enough nonsense. I'm here to take her. Don't try to play games with me."

"The Five Elemental Academies, huh? Such a grand title. And you all think you can play both sides between the Spirit Hall and the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan? I don't care what your plans are whether you want independence or to keep benefiting from both factions. I'll ask you one thing: Can I take her or not?"

Guang Ling's sharp words made the oppressive atmosphere even heavier.

Seeing that his master had played the villain's role perfectly, Han Li finally stepped forward to ease the tension. The moment he moved, all eyes turned to him.

"Headmistress Su, my master has quite the temper. I ask for your understanding. Allow me to apologize on his behalf."

After positioning himself as the mediator, Han Li continued, "This was actually my oversight. I forgot to explain things properly. Let me clarify."

"The situation is like this my uncle recently heard about Miss Shui Bing'er's unique martial soul. He took a great interest in it and also has the ability to help her. So, he wanted to take her as his disciple. Initially, he planned to come personally and formally accept her as his successor. However, just before departure, he sensed an opportunity to break through to Rank 97 and entered seclusion."

"My master, being as close as a brother to my uncle, wanted to give him a surprise. That's why we came unannounced."

"You can rest assured our visit has nothing to do with the Thunderclap Academy or the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. My master was just speaking offhandedly, so you don't have to take it seriously. Accepting a disciple is always a mutual agreement, after all. It's not something we can force, wouldn't you agree?"

After finishing, Han Li gave Guang Ling a respectful nod before stepping back into his previous silent stance.

"(╭╯^╰)╮ Hmph."

Guang Ling let out an annoyed snort but didn't contradict Han Li's words. Instead, he closed his eyes.

Seeing Han Li offer them a way out, the four women finally breathed a sigh of relief.

At the very least, they now had a clearer understanding of the situation instead of being forced into a blind decision.

As for Han Li saying that Guang Ling's words were not to be taken seriously… Su Rou didn't believe that for a second. She wasn't as naive as Shui Yue'er, who might trust people just because they looked good.

After a long moment of hesitation, Su Rou finally asked, "Your Eminence, can your brother truly stabilize Bing'er's martial soul?"

"Is that even difficult?"

Guang Ling opened his eyes and responded casually. As he spoke, a wave of extreme cold burst from his body, instantly filling the hall before vanishing just as quickly.

However, the sudden fluctuation triggered an involuntary reaction from Shui Bing'er's martial soul, causing it to manifest above her head, sending waves of freezing energy rippling outward.

A martial soul outburst?

Both Guang Ling and Han Li had the same thought.

Seeing the host family's panicked reactions, Guang Ling turned to Han Li, as if asking whether he could handle it. Han Li nodded.

"Step aside."

The moment Han Li spoke, he was already beside Shui Bing'er, reaching out to grab the ice phoenix above her head.

"Wait, that's dangerous!"

Before the alarmed voices of the others could fully sound, Han Li's hand had already made contact with the translucent phoenix.

In the next second, the fluctuations in Shui Bing'er's soul power calmed instantly, and her martial soul stabilized.

Han Li turned to look at the shocked onlookers. "What was that? Dangerous, you said?"

"Go back."

Han Li gave the ice phoenix a light tap on the head, and the abnormality in Shui Bing'er's body disappeared completely.

Absolute control over ice elements today, it had proven its worth.

After handling this little incident, Han Li nodded toward the others, then casually returned to his position behind Guang Ling, ignoring their stunned expressions.

"Still need proof?"

Guang Ling's voice snapped them out of their daze.

"N No, that won't be necessary."

Su Rou, however, was now focused on Han Li. The other three women were no different, especially Shui Bing'er, whose cheeks were flushed red after all, Han Li had directly interacted with her martial soul.

"I thought stabilizing the martial soul's form would be enough. I didn't expect it to actually lose control. Tch, this is quite a hassle."

Guang Ling's tone shifted slightly.

Now, it was Su Rou who was anxious.

"Your Eminence, do you have a way to resolve her martial soul outbursts?"

She asked cautiously.

"There is a way, but now we have to consider whether it's worth it."

Guang Ling lazily examined his nails, speaking with complete indifference.

"Judging by her situation, this isn't the first time her martial soul has gone out of control, is it? You've done a good job hiding it, but weren't you worried she'd one day lose control completely and boom send the entire Tianshui Academy flying?"

Guang Ling's mocking tone echoed throughout the hall.

At this moment, he truly wasn't in a hurry at all.
