Using his summoning toad, Jiraiya was able to contact Minato and confirm that the genin and the injured were safe. The three didn't hesitate and headed toward the battlefield.
"Which side should he head first?" Jiraiya asks, running alongside his teammate.
"From my snake, Kadoya, is still alive. And there is no sight of Iwagakure, so let's head over to the Suna battlefield first." Orochimaru said, which caused Tsunade to frown.
"I know you're worried about our student, but heading toward the Iwagakure battlefield will take more time, time that we don't have. So it's better to support the Suna's battlefield first. Then he can head toward Iwa's battlefield."
He continued, although he himself also felt worried for his student, but currently, there is nothing he can do. Plus, Kadoya has a group of Jonin following behind; they should at least return to tell them the situation if anything bad happens.
The fact that they didn't return means everything was going well on his side. Or probably really bad, they could only hope for now.
Meanwhile, after Hanzo retreated to his base in Amegakure, walking inside his office, his tense body eased up a bit. Now he has to plan what to do if the Third Hokage decides to retaliate.
Crack!
The sound caused Hanzo's body to tense up as he quickly turned to see a boy with golden blonde hair sitting on his chair, his leg on the table.
Kadoya leaned back on Hanzo's seat, biting into the rice cracker with a bored look.
"What took you so long?" Kadoya asks, continuing to eat his rice cracker without a care in the world.
Hanzo glared at the golden-haired body, and his hand quickly formed hand seals.
"Water Style: Water Severing Wave!"
The water wave crashed into him, but the moment the water began to drain, Hanzo widened his eyes, seeing Kadoya still sitting calmly and eating rice crackers. An invisible glass wall separated him from the water ninjutsu.
Hanzo: "!!?"
"Is this how you greet your guest?" He asks, looking at Hanzo with a bored expression. "No wonder why Amegakure is so poor, their leader doesn't even know how to welcome their guest."
"Who the hell are you!?" Hanzo roared, his body still tense upon seeing this unknown figure that suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
Kadoya just smirked before standing up, and Hanzo noticed that he looked kinda short. By height doesn't matter at the moment. Not when that person could kill you without you even noticing it.
"Just a passing-through Ninja." Kadoya said confidently. "Remember that!"
He then kicked the table, sending it flying toward the glass wall, crashing and shattering it, sending the large glass shards flying toward Hanzo.
Reacting quickly, Hanzo used his Body Flicker, reappearing behind Kadoya with his sickle in hand.
Kadoya just smirked. The moment Hanzo swung his sickle down, Kadoya disappeared.
Then the next moment, his body went flying, crashing through the wall of his office and falling onto the other side. Pushing himself up, Hanzo tried to form hands, only to notice something was wrong. Looking down, he saw that both his hands were missing four fingers, leaving only his thumbs.
He has been on high alert, after almost getting killed, fueled by his adrenaline, he didn't notice that his fingers were cut.
Only now did the pain from his fingers being cut off finally set in. With the loss of his fingers, he couldn't perform ninjutsu or even hold his weapon anymore; his only option left was to run.
But... could he even outrun him?
"Relax... brat."
Kadoya said, smirking. Which caused Hanzo's eyelid to twitch in annoyance, but he didn't dare to say anything.
"You survived against me. That is no small feat. You should feel honored."
Hanzo clenched his teeth so hard that they nearly cracked.
Kadoya then tapped a finger against his chin, mimicking Hanzo's movement when he gifted the title of Sannin.
"... Let me think. From now on, I shall call you Hanzo of the Two Thumbs!" Kadoya said in a mocking voice.
Teachers, I have avenged you!
Orochimaru, Tsunade & Jiraiya: "!!? But I'm not dead."
The vein on Hanzo's forehead almost popped from anger, and he nearly died because of a heart attack.
This humiliation... it was simply too much.
At least when giving those three the title of Sannin, it at least sounded respectful. Like a title worth carrying.
But Hanzo of the Two Thumbs!?
That's straight-up mockery.
"What? Not happy? How about I give you Hanzo of the No Legs?" Kadoya suddenly asks, which causes Hanzo to freeze up before a forced smile appeared on his lips, despite his metal mask covering almost all of his face.
"No, not at all, Hanzo of the Two Thumbs is already quite generous." He said in a somewhat respectful tone, then quickly backed off a few steps.
"Oh? You really think so? How about you go out there and announce your new title? I'll wait." Kadoya said with a playful smile.
Hanzo: "!!!"
Bastard! Just how cruel can you be!? You aren't human!!
Hanzo nearly collapsed from a heart attack, but after he thought about it. If he collapsed now, he might wake up with the title Hanzo of the No Limbs.
So, out of forced reluctance, Hanzo declares himself to the rest of Amegakure as Hanzo of the Two Thumbs.
Seeing this, Kadoya just smiled, patted Hanzo on the shoulder, and disappeared like nothing ever happened.
In this, just how this shinobi world where strength is supreme, what a ninja who held power for a long time fears isn't death, but losing all of their power and becoming a useless waste.
...
A few moments back, on the battlefield, with the departure of the Tailed Beasts, Chiyo directed the Suna ninjas to slowly retreat towards the edge, seeking an opportunity to escape the war.
A black eagle circled in the sky, emitting piercing screeches. The high-pitched sound reached nearly every ninja on the battlefield.
"This is?!"
A ninja clad in black looked up in shock. He was the second-in-command of the Amegakure and the temporary battlefield commander in Hanzo's absence. Instantly, he recognized the ninja beast Hanzo used for transmitting information.
"Ame ninjas... retreat!" He hesitated for a moment, but ultimately issued the order, despite his unwillingness. As Hanzo's second-in-command, he feared his leader's wrath.
Upon hearing this command, the Ame ninjas did not hesitate. They had long wished to leave this damned battlefield. The difference in strength between them and Konoha ninjas was too vast. It felt like a ragtag militia standing against an elite force.
Though Konoha ninjas did not understand the signal's meaning, they saw Ame ninjas beginning to retreat.
At this moment, there were only two possible explanations for the sudden withdrawal.
The first, and most likely, was that Orochimaru, Tsunade, and Jiraiya had lost or even perished at the hands of the demigod. Hanzo could have issued the signal to allow the Rain ninjas to gradually withdraw, ensuring his reinforcements arrived swiftly.
The second, far less probable, possibility was that Orochimaru and the others had emerged victorious. Hanzo, having been defeated, could have ordered a retreat to preserve what forces he had left.
However, rational thinking made the latter option seem impossible. After all, Hanzo was the demigod. Rumors suggested that even the Third Hokage himself was no match for him. Jiraiya and the others, merely the Hokage's disciples, could not possibly reach such a level.
To avoid casualties, they have been sent to the battlefield while those three stay back and hold off Hanzo despite the difference in strength.
Even so, deep in their hearts, Konoha ninjas clung to a sliver of hope. After all, after two years of fighting in the Rain Country, who among them did not yearn to return home?
Chiyo, however, did not share their optimism. If anything, she relished the thought of Tsunade's demise.
Just as a smug smile began to creep across her lips, it froze in place.
Because at that moment, three familiar voices echoed across the battlefield.
"Summoning Technique!"
With a burst of smoke, three colossal summoning beasts materialized. Perched atop them, three battered but resolute figures gazed down upon the battlefield.
Orochimaru's cold voice, laced with chakra, spread across the entire battlefield.
"Konoha ninjas, we have won this war!"
A stunned silence filled the air before a thunderous roar erupted. Cheers and exclamations pierced the sky as the Konoha forces erupted with joy.
Chiyo's eyes widened in disbelief. Her gaze locked onto the three figures, slightly disheveled yet standing strong. Hanzo had let them live. He had spared them.
"Hanzo, you bastard!"
The three leaped down from their summoning beasts, weaving through the ranks of their comrades to reach the battlefield's center.
"Where is the One-Tail!?" Chiyo shouted, seeing the Suna shinobi being cut down like flies right before her.
"The One-Tail-" The Suna shinobi tried to say only for the cut off by a loud roar that rang throughout the battlefield.
Turning toward the sound, they see The One-Tail being chained up by golden chains, wrapping it up tight like a ball of golden chains, sitting on top of it was a figure dressed in a red robe with long black hair.
"That is..." One of the panicking Suna ninja mutters.
"The Blade." Another one finished.
After all, they heard a report about the Four-Tails being subdued by the Blade using the Uzumaki Adamantine Sealing Chains.
"Damn it!" Chiyo cursed. "An Uzumaki survivor."
Although Kadoya doesn't have his Uzumaki red hair on, many still found it more fitting to call him an Uzumaki instead of an Uchiha due to the golden chains that look and act identical to the Uzumaki Adamantine Sealing Chains.
Plus, they don't see him use his Sharingan.
Only Iwagakure has the luxury to see those eyes and come out alive, which was traumatized more than helped. This also led to an immediate ban on the name Kadoya in Iwagakure.
Which is similar to how Madara's name struck terror into the heart of many, even almost 100 years later, no one dares to name their child Madara.
Later, if you walk into Iwagakure and say your name is Kadoya, they might treat you like another village's Jinchuriki entering their village.
Tsunade smiles, seeing her student has returned alive, meaning his battle with the Iwa shinobi must have gone well. She then narrowed her gaze at the Suna shinobi at the battlefield's edge, finally settling on one particular figure.
She said nothing. But her eyes locked onto Chiyo's, a silent battle of wills unfolding between them.
Meanwhile, under the black-clothed ninja's command, the Ame troops assembled for their retreat.
"Let them leave," Orochimaru commanded. The Amegakure had few shinobi to begin with, and killing them served no purpose. Moreover, Hanzo had spared them. Konoha would reciprocate the gesture.
As the Ame shinobi withdrew, Chiyo's face contorted with barely contained fury.
Yet, she steeled herself and gave the command.
"Suna troops, retreat!"
Tsunade smirked, casting a final glance at Chiyo. "Chiyo, you old hag, we're not done! I will get my revenge!"
Chiyo shot her a scornful glance before swiftly retreating with her troops.
As the Suna shinobi disappeared over the horizon, the Konoha forces exhaled in relief. Had the battle continued, even in victory, the losses would have been immense.
Kadoya smirked before looking down, sensing that the One-Tail Shukaku is retreating, creating a massive sand body as a shell while the main body reverses back into a human to try and escape.
Drawing out his water blade, Kadoya leaps down, directly toward the running Jinchuriki. His water blade stabbed onto the man's shoulder, holding him in place while he placed his foot on the man's head.
"Not so fast, Shukaku."
He said with a playful smirk, causing the One-Tail Jinchuriki to scream, feeling blood pouring out from his shoulder while the Shukaku froze, wondering how this human knew its name.
"I think we're gonna have a nice long chat with each other." He said, before twisting the blade, causing the man to scream, only for his mouth to be shoved into the dirt as he pressed his foot down on his head.
