"Wouldn't it be better if you returned to the palace?" Etien hoped the emperor would finally leave his mansion.
"No need to worry. I've already told Henri I'd be away. He knows and will stay here for a while. So I might just crash here tonight."
"Crash—what?!"
"Why so shocked? I said I might stay the night. Why are you reacting like that? Am I not allowed to sleep over for one night?"
"No! That's not what I meant, it's just, I don't want you spending too much time in Winterbraun when there's still a ton waiting for you back at the palace, Your Majesty."
"My duties aren't going to kill me. Just let me stay the night." Glen was stubborn. "I'll head back to the palace first thing in the morning. Sounds fair, doesn't it?"
Fair, huh? Glen made it sound like Winterbraun was his personal playground. The man waltzed in and acted like the butler here was his butler too.
"You can stay. But don't expect any grand hospitality, Your Majesty."
