Destroying Konoha offers few benefits but many disadvantages.
First, the benefits: what good would destroying Konoha actually do for Uchiha Madara?
Enhance Uchiha Madara's prestige? Make the entire ninja world fear Uchiha Madara even more? What else?
Besides, are these really benefits? Seeing Konoha, the strongest of the Five Great Shinobi Villages, destroyed, the other four villages would certainly fear Uchiha Madara.
