To improve my dungeon, especially the second floor, I decided to add a unique monster—one that really has nothing to do with a traditional labyrinth dungeon, just to surprise the explorers!
I searched through the [Dungeon Points Shop] for standout monsters.
And after several minutes of careful research, reading all the monster stats and powers, I finally chose: Inverse-Shadow (3,500 Points)!
Sounds vague, right? These monsters are actually beetle-like insects! Yes, beetle insects that sneak into shadows and parasite them!
Which gives you living shadows. And beyond that, they can group up inside the shadows, creating monsters of various shapes... but that's just the normal ones!
For the Inverse-Shadow Guards, which are bigger and stronger, they can control multiple shadows—one large one and several smaller ones. And if they group up, whether with other guards or normal ones, they turn into kinds of massive, powerful shadow golems!
Just imagine a giant shadow monster with shadowy tentacles sprouting everywhere from it!
Three words for that: Terrifying and effective!
I placed the Queen far into the dungeon, on the opposite side of the room with the Multivariant Spider Queen, so their offspring wouldn't meet right away.
They can move throughout half the second floor, focusing mostly on the center with the spiders, and a few small parasitic groups can move into the first floor—but only groups with a single beetle!
Alright, the monsters are set. Now, onto traps and treasure chests!
I continued browsing the [Dungeon Points Shop], in the chest and trap chest section.
Mmmh...
Mmh...
Mh?
I found it!
Besides the normal treasure chests with gems, weapons, and low-tier armor for the second floor—which cost me 1,400 dungeon points—I chose to add:
A low-intermediate weapon chest (1,000 Points)
A low-intermediate armor chest (1,000 Points)
A low-intermediate accessory chest (900 Points)
I placed several of these chests throughout the floor.
But! I also added trap chests, which have a 3-in-4 chance of appearing instead of a treasure chest:
Mimic Chest (600 Points)
Spiked trap chest (300 Points)
Massive explosion trap chest (450 Points)
Adding multiple chests on the second floor cost more, but I don't care—my dungeon is finally starting to defend itself properly against Alicia's party... or even the Adventurer's Guild!
But I wasn't done—next up, traps!
I looked through the trap section in the [Dungeon Points Shop].
I frowned while reading—I didn't want the same traps as on the first floor.
Then I found them. My eyes lit up with joy, my lips curling into a mischievous smile.
First, there are musical tiles. These tiles play notes, and if you don't step on them in the correct sequence, a deadly soundwave plays, killing the whole party. And every time you pass through, the sequence changes! (1,500 Points for several sections)
Then some classic lance traps, with spears shooting out from all four wall sides in several sections (1,200 Points).
And finally… carnivorous plants sprouting from the natural vines and brambles of the second floor at various points! (350 Points)
Yes… I'm very satisfied with the second floor!
Satisfied, time passed a bit, and I saw something that shocked me!
Not only was Alicia's party moving into the second floor, but they were also starting to write down information about the monsters, traps, and even chests!
Those… those bitches are writing guides on my dungeon to make it easier for other explorers!
Alright! If that's how you want to play, then let's play!
"System, purchase effect: Monster Reproduction X3!"
[This will cost 15,000 Dungeon Points.]
"I accept!"
Luckily, with the remaining points plus the ones I earned recently, I had enough!
Throughout the entire dungeon, the monster spawners began reproducing or laying eggs faster, flooding the dungeon with more monsters!
There you go, bitches! Even if you write up everything about my monsters and every part of the dungeon, let's see how much that helps now!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
…Okay, but now I have zero points left…
I may have been a bit impulsive… But at least the effect is great—it's made my dungeon stronger for what's coming next.
But it really pisses me off when that happens! Why write down everything about my dungeon?
If you do that, I'll just keep upgrading it more and more!
It just makes things even more dangerous for the explorers!
Still, I get why they're doing it—to reduce the deaths of their own explorers. I get it. But it doesn't really work, since I just upgrade the dungeon even more to compensate for the info leaks.
I also get that they're doing it as part of the plan the Adventurer's Guild is preparing. To uncover that, I followed Alicia's party by transforming into monsters or using Puddle to turn into pools of water, blood, or even acid.
But I found nothing. It seems the party knows I'm watching—they don't talk about anything important to their plan.
Other than bandits, no one else enters anymore—except for Alicia's group... Well, that was true before, but now, thanks to the monster reproduction effect, more groups have entered—though only C and D ranks.
That makes the first floor easier for them—except that there are more monsters, so they're more cautious.
Luckily, the labyrinth changes every night at midnight, which drags out their exploration if they stay in the dungeon too long.
As for the second floor... the Inverse-Shadow are F-rank when it's just one beetle in a shadow, but once there are 25 in one, they go up to E-rank!
Solo guards are E-rank too, but in groups... Hehehe. As for the queen, she's D-rank on her own, just like the Spider Queen.
Add the traps, the effects, and everything else... The second floor is brutally difficult!
Good luck! And please die—I need more dungeon points!
