Kaiju rose from the ruins of the facility, roaring with fury as smoke and magma flooded the area.
"This is bad—more monsters are rising?!" said Sabine.
Two mechs descended from the sky with roaring engines—Skyrender Avantgarda and Req Gewehnr—landing with explosive impact.
"Sabine!" shouted Sora.
"Sora! Hanada!" Sabine called back.
The battlefield rumbled beneath the weight of the beasts closing in.
"What the hell happened?!" asked Hanada.
"That bitch unleashed these creatures!" Sabine snapped.
A Kaiju roared violently.
[RAWRRRRRRRR!!]
The force of the scream echoed across the landscape. All the pilots winced, clutching their heads as a sharp wave of sound blasted their cockpits.
"Damn it. We need to make sure these creatures don't reach the mainland. We'll kill all of them now!" yelled Hanada.
Req Gewehnr raised its machine gun and opened fire.
[BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!]
One Kaiju flinched from the bullets, annoyed rather than injured. Molten lava leaked from its eyes, nostrils, and the holes in its hands.
The Kaiju reared back and fired a massive blast of magma from its arms toward Hanada's unit.
"Oh shit!" shouted Hanada.
Req Gewehnr dodged the blast just in time, the magma scorching the ground where it had just stood.
Both Avantgarda and Stelvane moved into battle positions.
Sora charged at two Kaiju with glowing swords, striking both with swift, brutal slashes. The monsters screamed in pain as crimson blood sprayed into the air.
Sabine fired at another Kaiju, her shots hammering its armored hide.
The Kaiju retaliated with a blast of blue plasma from its mouth.
"Shit!" cursed Sabine.
Stelvane blocked with its shield, but sparks erupted across its surface as the plasma cracked through the energy field.
Hanada locked onto the lava Kaiju and opened fire again, then charged with a furious yell.
"Ha! Not on my watch!" he shouted.
Req Gewehnr delivered a powerful punch to the Kaiju's face mid-charge.
The monster released another magma blast—but the punch redirected it, accidentally striking one of the other Kaiju and melting it alive.
Elsewhere, Rondo's mech struggled against a red-crackling Kaiju that loomed above him.
The Kaiju began charging a beam of electricity.
Suddenly, a flash of blue light streaked across the field.
Sora sliced the Kaiju's head off in a single blow.
"Thank you, Sora!" cried Rondo.
The battlefield was pure chaos—five Kaiju versus four mechs.
[BANG! BANG! BANG!]
[ROOOOAAAARRRR!]
[SLASH! SLASH!]
Sora cleaved another Kaiju straight through the chest, slicing it in half.
Hanada fired straight into a monster's mouth, killing it from the inside.
Sabine shot another through the head, dropping it instantly.
"One left," said Sora.
All eyes turned to the final Kaiju—the magma-spewing one.
Hanada prepared to charge.
But then he saw something on the ground.
"What the...? A knight?" he muttered.
Standing alone beneath the Kaiju's shadow was a man clad in black armor—Obscudeid.
"One last thing before I go," said Obscudeid.
His sword lit up with light-blue energy.
He slashed.
[STRIKE!]
A wave of energy tore across the battlefield. It sliced off Req Gewehnr's arm—and ripped clean through Rondo's mech.
Rondo and Baynard were killed instantly.
"RONDO!! BAYNARD!!" screamed Sabine.
"What the hell...?" muttered Sora.
"LOOK OUT!" shouted Hanada.
The Kaiju fired a final magma blast—straight toward the three mechs.
[BOOOOOOM!!]
