Chapter 23 - Chapter Twenty-Three: Post-fall meeting

The clouds were thickening over the island, and the wind was blowing hard, as if nature itself sensed that something unnatural had happened.

In the conference room, everyone sat around a huge wooden table, the sounds of machinery filling the background, anxiety written all over their faces.

Celestia, who was looking at the medical reports in front of her, raised her head and said in a steady but cautious voice:

"He has lost everything... his memories, his strength, even his body is no longer the same. He is now just an empty person, with no past, no identity."

Yumi froze, her body trembling, her eyes filled with tears but they didn't fall. She tried to speak, but couldn't find the right words. "How, how, how did it happen?" and the tears began to fall, "Lin... doesn't know me?"

Her voice was barely audible, so faint that it might as well have disappeared.

Maru spoke after a few moments of silence, avoiding looking directly at her, "This isn't just ordinary amnesia... this is... something deeper, as if his very being has been torn apart."

Rin pressed the screen in front of him, showing the results of the medical examination:

- Memory is completely lost

- His energy is completely gone, as if it was forcibly withdrawn

- His body is abnormally weak, even his pulse is irregular

Yumi silently pondered this information, then faintly whispered: "Can he be restored? Can he... come back to the Lin we know?"

Celestia slowly shook her head "I don't know... what happened to him isn't just a physical or neurological issue... something bigger is controlling this."

Maru played a recording of what happened at the time as the Unknown appeared on the screen, his body covered by the mask, his words echoing in the room, like the words of a dark prophecy:

"Energy? What does great energy mean? ... Body? What does a strong body mean? ... Power? What does world-shattering power mean? ... What does it mean to be the best? Smart, strong ... Nothing will help you if you are forgotten ... Nothing will save you if you disappear."

Maru looked at the picture thoughtfully, then said, "Surely these are not idle words... He knew exactly what he was doing and what he was saying... This is not just an attack, but a message with something behind it."

Before anyone could comment, the door suddenly opened, and Yumi's older brother, Sesshoumaru, walked in, black-blue hair, sharp eyes, a straight body, and features that held no hesitation.

He paused for a moment, scanned the room, and then said in a firm tone that did not recognize weakness, "Tell me everything, I don't want any missing details."

Yume turned to him, tears still gathering in her eyes, "Lin... was attacked... by an unknown person... and now he doesn't remember us."

Sesshoumaru moved closer to the screen, his eyes scanning the information carefully, then said with deadly seriousness, "If this is true, we are up against an enemy we do not yet understand. We must begin the search immediately."

Sichu: "Yumi, go check on Lin, and I'll ask all teams within the Royal Guard to go in search of the unknown."

Celestia: "The Royal Guard? What is this organization?"

Ren: "It is the supreme organization that gives orders to the Guardians and the Second Legion, and the three organizations are humanity's primary lines of defense against monsters."

In a private medical room, Lin lay motionless, his eyes staring into space, as if searching for something he couldn't see

He slowly raised his hand, looking at his wrist where the mysterious bracelet shone with a faint golden glow

Yumi arrived in the room and saw him contemplating the bracelet, and a picture appeared in front of him, a map of the world, many cities, but some of them have strange dots.

Yumi was shocked by what she saw, and remembered the unknown person's words

"Feed him well... Here is this bracelet, give it to him after he regains some of his health."

"Could these dots be the key to Lin's recovery?" she whispered, moved and on the verge of tears.

She moved closer to him, then said in an urgent tone, "Lin, let's quickly go to the conference room."

She helped him sit in the wheelchair, then took him to the conference room. When she entered, Sichu angrily exclaimed, "Why did you bring him here? He still hasn't recovered!"

Yumi looked at him steadily, then replied, "I brought him to show you this."

She showed the image from the bracelet, then continued, "I think these dots are the way to restore his health."

Sesshoumaru looked at the screen thoughtfully, then said firmly, "Maru, find the locations of each point, we'll hold on to that hope."

The screen showed the following results

- A red dot in the center of the old capital, the "City of Beginning"

- A blue dot in the beach town of Azurain

- A sky blue dot glowing over the high mountains, "Caldoran"

- A gray dot above the rocky city, Dragmar

- A brown dot in the middle of a desert, Ramalith

- A black dot in the City of Injustice, Umbrax

"I'll bring two of the Royal Guard's best fighters, then we'll deploy to each point individually," Sichu said in a steady tone as he pressed the communicator.

A few minutes later, the door opened and two girls appeared, one with red hair and eyes, one gray and one red, and the other with black hair and golden eyes, similar to those of a tiger.

"This is the red-haired one, Yin Hua, just call her Hua, and the black-haired one, Mei Lan, just call her Lan Lan Lan."

"We will divide into groups of two.

- Maru and Lan Lan will go to Ramalith.

- Rin and Hua will go to Azurain.

- Yumi will go to Mount Caldoran with Lan Lan, because it's easy to cross and there are no monsters.

- Celestia and I will go to Dragmar and the Old Capital, because they are close to each other

- After that, we will meet here, and then set off for Umbrax."

There was silence after these words, and everyone began to prepare for their journey towards the mysterious points
