Chapter 20 - Kingpin

Carl was an ordinary gangster who was both lucky and unlucky enough to become a member of the Kingpin's crew.

One of the Emperor of the Underworld's underlings was, as usual, playing cards and bragging… until Daredevil attacked.

He attacked Kingpin's tower.

Carl, along with his gangster brothers, wanted to show this arrogant Daredevil that the Kingpin Empire's thugs were on a completely different level than the trash outside.

So they armed themselves to teach him a hard lesson.

But today, Carl's worldview shattered.

He received a shock that might be unforgettable for the rest of his life.

What was the shock?

Someone who had been blown up by an RPG… came back to life.

Yes. Daredevil had been blown to pieces—reduced to shredded meat—but then, the pieces came back together.

Strands of flesh reconnected like tendrils, and in less than a few seconds, the body reformed.

Carl's eyes widened in horror.

His cigarette fell from his mouth. His mind went blank. Only one thought spun in his head:

"Damn… what the hell was that?!"

Sure, in this strange world, there are mutants… but even they are carbon-based beings.

After being torn apart, no matter how powerful their regeneration is, they should die.

This was an RPG—a weapon designed to pierce tank armor. Even a glancing hit would be enough to tear a human body apart.

But Daredevil not only survived… even his clothes regenerated!

The scene was so eerie that Carl began to doubt his eyes.

"The devil…" a whisper escaped his lips.

He no longer even saw Daredevil as human. Fear gripped his entire being. His will and courage to fight were extinguished in a single moment.

But before he could think any further, a shadow appeared in front of him—

And knocked him out.

All the gangsters in the hall were taken down within seconds by Daredevil's fists.

Matt's Perspective

After receiving the blessing of the goddess, Matt had gained inhuman power. So powerful that he had almost lost the feeling of danger.

That's why the RPG managed to hit him.

With physical abilities dozens of times stronger than a normal human, his reaction speed surpassed any living creature on Earth.

His senses, enhanced by the goddess, had reached a supernatural level—he could monitor an area as large as a kilometer like a radar.

His sixth sense was hundreds of times sharper than a normal human's.

So why didn't he dodge?

Because he had lost his fear of death.

Immortality had subconsciously turned him into a reckless being.

Matt was a little surprised. He hadn't faced Kingpin's elites—just low-level gangsters.

"Why did Kingpin only send weak underlings?"

But he didn't care. With his new power, he was sure he could defeat Kingpin and put him behind bars.

With his extraordinary senses, he knew a group was waiting for him on the top floor… but he didn't care. He calmly reached the final floor and entered.

A group of heavily armed individuals—like a small army—stood in formation against him.

But Matt's eyes were locked on Kingpin, who stood by the window, looking out.

And that's when Matt froze.

His body trembled with hatred. A deadly wave of disgust and fury flooded his entire being.

"Kill him… kill him… kill him…"

Thousands of voices screamed in his mind to tear Kingpin apart. It was as if every cell in his body hated him.

Even Daredevil—who always clung to his no-kill rule like a saint—allowed the thought of slaughter into his mind for a moment.

It was like he had seen his mortal enemy.

His iron will was on the verge of collapse. But Matt, with immense effort, suppressed those thoughts and stared at Kingpin—a creature radiating a sickening aura of hatred.

"To you, I'm despicable… right? You must kill me."

Wilson whispered. But Matt, with his extraordinary hearing, caught it.

"How do you know?!"

His eyes widened in shock.

Kingpin turned around and calmly replied:

"It's simple… because I feel the same way."

But his muscles were like steel. He was a volcano ready to erupt.

"This holy aura I feel from you… disgusts me. 'Daredevil'… or better yet, 'Messenger of the Goddess.'"

Matt was stunned. Wait… what are you talking about?

His curiosity flared. He had always wanted to know why God had chosen him. Why he was given power. Now that he had found a clue, he was thrilled.

Kingpin mocked:

"Pathetic… you don't even know anything about the one who gave you power."

Then he continued:

"You were chosen by a 'benevolent god'… and I was chosen by the 'Devil.' And these two are enemies. That's all I know. But there is one thing I understand very well…"

"What is it?" Matt asked cautiously.

Kingpin said with cold eyes:

"Tonight… is the night you die. I will sacrifice your corpse for my master."

The Transformation

Before anyone could react, a crimson aura engulfed Kingpin.

And in the blink of an eye, the two-meter giant turned into a terrifying monster.

Red skin, like charred meat.

Twisted horns, like a demonic crown.

Razor-sharp claws, seemingly made for tearing anything apart.

Yellow eyes with vertical pupils, like a snake.

Kingpin was now a monstrous demon.

His hateful aura had grown stronger. Now Matt wanted to kill him even more.

Kingpin said proudly:

"This form is a bit overwhelming… I'll make it quick. Be honored to see me like this, human."

He loved this limitless power. He felt like he could do anything. And now he had only one desire:

To kill this little human.

This disgusting messenger of the goddess had to be destroyed.

The Battle Begins

In an instant, Kingpin appeared before Matt and threw a punch.

Boom!

A sound like a sonic explosion rang out.

Matt, with his extraordinary senses, reacted and blocked the punch with his hand.

But then—

His hand began to itch.

His skin began to rot.

His flesh decayed, as if it had been decomposing for centuries.

Without hesitation, Matt cut off his hand and threw it away.

As he stared at the rotten piece of flesh, a new hand regenerated.

Kingpin laughed:

"What's wrong, Daredevil? Are you so arrogant you think you're the only one who's been 'blessed'?"

Now Matt understood…

This battle was far more dangerous than he had imagined.
