The hour was nearing dusk, and the inner hall was completely sealed.
In the center of the hall sat a round table surrounded by five men:
the King,
Alpha,
the Right Advisor,
the Left Advisor,
and the Captain of the Royal Guard.
Their faces were grim, each bearing more questions in their eyes than answers.
The Captain began speaking, placing a simple sheet of paper before him:
"I've gathered all the statements I could from the guards and servants near the prison."
He looked up at the King and continued:
"The last person to enter the Queen's chambers before the body was discovered was the servant responsible for her food. We searched her thoroughly and found nothing suspicious."
He added,
"All week long, no one visited the Queen… except one person."
He paused for a moment, then said clearly:
"He visited her only yesterday… the First Prince."
Silence fell for several seconds.
The King looked down at the table while the two advisors exchanged a brief glance.
