Chapter 21 - Revelations (Part 1)

While Guty is dealing with the last students in the brawl, I'll take the opportunity to check the reports of the previous agents. Maybe there's something in there that can help us... at this moment, any lead would be useful...

-Chess: Let's see...

There are undoubtedly a large number of reports... it will take me longer than expected to go through them one by one... I'll use my search engine "Billy" maybe he can find something... while my search engine works, I'll start with the latest reports since they are the last agents who went to the school... maybe there's a clue that creates an irrefutable link to the killer...

-Chess: Hmm? Did you find something, Billy...?

It seems he found a pattern that repeats consistently in each of the reports. I'll separate and summarize them to check quickly...

-Chess: This is...

The pattern shows that each of the agents was involved with a woman during their time at the university until the day they died under strange circumstances...

-Chess: That means...

Digging deeper into the reports, I find the names of the women they were involved with during their time at school. However, there is very little information about them... it seems they were not given much importance, and those who did gradually came to trust them until they eliminated any suspicion...

-Chess: Poor manipulated men...

I continue to search and find that the four women were connected to the 61 agents who died during the past 5 years...

-Chess: There must be something that connects them...

At that moment, I access the lists of previous year's students and finally find a link that unites them...

-Chess: Ami, Emiko, Gina, and Haru...

Each of them has something in common that binds them together, their last name… Uria - Ami, Uria - Emiko, Uria - Gina, and Uria - Haru...

-Chess: It's a family of assassins!

I must inform Guty as soon as possible...

Meanwhile, in the office of old James, Agent Guty has just emptied the magazine of his pistol onto the psychologist, who lies motionless on the floor, while a pool of blood slowly spreads...

-Akasha: What did you do, Guty?! Why did you shoot him?!

-Guty: I had to...

I contemplate the lifeless body of the school psychologist when suddenly my phone starts ringing...

-Guty: Hmm?

-Chess: Come on... answer... answer...

At that moment, a strong sense of intrigue fills me...

-Chess: What if...?

I check the list of students once again and find something shocking...

-Chess: It can't be! Answer quickly, Guty!

-Guty: Is it Night Bird?

Seeing her name on my phone makes me realize that I wouldn't have succeeded without her help. I must admit she's quite good at what she does.

-Chess: What are you waiting for?! Let's go! Answer!

Once the job is finished, it's best to contact my superior immediately so that the cleanup team can be sent, and we can make the necessary statements to close the case...

-Uria Akasha...

-Guty: We better get out of h…

A strong blow to the back of my head momentarily dims my subconscious, leaving me lost for a moment... What just happened? When I finally come to, I feel my body restrained, so I attempt to move, but there's something preventing me...

-Guty: What the heck...?

When I eventually open my eyes, I find myself seated in James' desk chair, completely tied to it...

-Akasha: Well... I didn't think you'd come this far, Guty...

-Guty: Akasha? What are you doing?

-Akasha: Surprised?

She walks slowly and sits in one of the office chairs...

-Guty: I didn't think you were part of this...

-Akasha: I know, they never realize... for an intelligence agency, the agents are quite naive... it's amazing the power of a pretty face...

A sinister smile forms on her face...

-Guty: ...

-Akasha: Are you upset? Don't worry, it will pass... you'll soon be reunited with the Principal... that useless good-for-nothing...

At that moment, a series of events linked together in my mind, and I began to understand what had happened...

-Guty: So, you were the one who poisoned him?

-Akasha: Actually, that was my cousin Haru, she had to come exclusively that day to deal with that little problem... the director was attracting too much attention, and we didn't want to risk him talking too much, so we had to silence him.

-Guty: ...

It would have been a perfect closure if not for the dose mistake... it was quite strange that you survived and the Principal died so quickly...

She slowly approaches me and then sits on my lap, bringing her face close to mine...

-Akasha: How did you survive…?

-Guty: Maybe luck...

-Akasha: Oh, really?

-Guty: So the day you dressed up as the head chef was the day the brawl happened. You said you'd be late and took the opportunity to tamper with the food being served that day...

-Akasha: I really appreciate that you delivered my assignment...

The sweet smile I used to know was nothing but a facade of a deranged and twisted woman. I didn't realize it at that moment, but now I see that the day I met her, I made a terrible mistake... she always boards after me. On that day, when I got off the truck, she was still there, which confirmed my place of residence for her to pass on the information to Kintaro and plan my poisoning...

Guty: If what you say is true, why involve the nurse?

-Akasha: That day, by chance, a supplier asked me to deliver medication to the infirmary, which gave me a fantastic idea... to swap the medication for the Wrath drug... I just wanted to create an event that you couldn't predict to throw you off a bit. It's worth mentioning that I didn't think it would work so well...

-Guty: You just wanted to create senseless chaos...?

-Akasha: Basically...

-Guty: You're sick...

She gets up from the chair and starts to walk around me...

-Akasha: You're very clever, Guty... the best so far... however, in the end, we outsmarted you.

-Guty: Not exactly...

Akasha: How can you deny it? Look at how you are completely at our mercy...

Guty: Do you think so...?

Akasha: Don't you?

Guty: From my perspective, there was just a small inconvenience in my plan... however, at no point have I questioned my outcome.

Akasha: Guty, please, stop boasting. What can you do in these conditions?

Guty: You would be surprised... as I see it, whether you go to jail or get picked up in pieces depends on you.

At the speed of lightning, she pulls out a gun and puts it to my head...

- Akasha: I'm getting tired of your games and riddles... I'll end this quickly, and we'll patiently wait for the next agent.

- Guty: There won't be another agent Akasha, I am the last... and after me, there is nothing…

- Akasha: Even better...

Her face reflects the eagerness to pull the trigger, but uncertainty eats away at her from within, and doubt traverses her mind...

- Guty: So... What's your decision?

- Akasha: Shut up! Stop talking.

She manages to turn my face with a strong punch...

- Guty: Gck!

- Akasha: I wanted to have a little more fun with you, but you've managed to irritate me...

- Guty: Ah... ah... So... Was everything we lived together a lie?

A bit of blood comes out of my nose for a moment...

- Akasha: Did you get attached to me?

My comment seemed to amuse her as she starts laughing hysterically like a maniac...

- Akasha: Oh, Guty... I've heard this question several times, and it always amuses me. Do you really think you mattered to me? I just wanted to take the best advantage of you and discover your movements.

- Guty: ...

- Akasha: Remember the day I cut myself with the knife? Do you remember? After Kintaro left, I used it to open my wound further and get enough blood to mark the chalkboard. As you know, I don't have anemia, so I couldn't bleed enough with that wound, so I had to improvise... and when I finished, I just had to bandage my finger completely.

- Guty: You were with them from the beginning...

- Akasha: <> Remember? Hahaha

The image of that sweet girl who accompanied me every day on the bus falls apart...

- Guty: It was all a lie...

- Akasha: I have to confess it was quite amusing to see your idiotic face every time I had the chance.

- Guty: ...

- Akasha: When I got home, I would tell my cousins, and we would laugh for hours. There's no doubt that men are the stupidest creatures on earth.

- Guty: It's a shame you think that way...

- Akasha: Don't get depressed, Guty. You've been the best toy I've had, and I don't plan on sharing you with anyone... not even with that girl Reika.

- Guty: Reika? Was it your fault her stove exploded!?

- Akasha: That bitch tried to steal my toy... so I had to get rid of her... we have hundreds of traps all over the school, I just had to figure out the right place, and poof, she's gone...

- Guty: How dare you play with people's lives like this!

I try to free myself, but the ropes are too strong...

- Akasha: Relax... soon you'll be able to reunite with her, my little and cute toy...

She points the gun directly at my head...

- Akasha: Goodbye!

Her face fills with determination; she is determined to pull the trigger and end this... which is a shame... I would have liked things to end differently, but it happened this way...

- Wait!
