Chapter 73 - Chapter 73: Kaitō Kid’s Diehard Fan!

Only after giving the dummy direction and speed would it look like a real glider in motion—otherwise it would just float like a helium balloon, and wouldn't have the dramatic effect Zhang Yang was aiming for.

Once the dummy rose into the sky, the drone beneath it kicked in, quickly flying toward Carlos's private estate.

"Go. The show's about to start."

The dummy soared through the night sky in a classic gliding pose, arms spread under its cape.

Zhang Yang was more than satisfied with the visual effect.

Sure enough, it wasn't long before the FBI spotted the flying figure in the sky.

"Oh shit! That looks like Kaitō Kid! Quick, notify Captain Frank!"

"Kaitō Kid is here! Kaitō Kid is here!"

"Everyone alert—fuck! He actually flew in?"

Inside the estate, the elite security team and FBI agents reacted like a triggered air-raid siren, all of them shouting in alarm.

Zhang Yang, dressed in a full FBI uniform, easily blended into the patrol team outside the estate. No one noticed a thing.

As the large iron gates opened, Zhang Yang got swept in with the crowd.

It felt just like squeezing onto the subway during rush hour—everyone pushing, afraid to be a step behind.

Their morale was sky-high, and it all came down to Kaitō Kid's reputation.

If any one of them managed to catch him, it meant promotions, raises, and even national commendations.

That kind of reward was irresistible to your average FBI field agent.

"Oh shit! Director Harrison, it really is Kaitō Kid!"

Frank looked up at the figure flashing across the sky and was stunned. He grabbed his radio and issued an urgent order.

"Hold your fire. Try to capture him alive if possible!"

The dummy followed its pre-set flight path, circling more than halfway around the estate before crashing into the villa's rooftop.

Right behind it, a recon drone arrived and began infrared scanning, quickly picking up a critical anomaly.

"Director Harrison, infrared analysis suggests it's likely just a dummy..."

Even if it was only a dummy, they still had to check. They couldn't afford the slightest oversight.

Just then, Carlos and his daughter Marina emerged, visibly excited.

"Captain Frank, can you confirm Kaitō Kid's really here?"

Frank was just about to nod when Zhang Yang, standing at the back of the crowd, flicked a red playing card.

The card spun rapidly like a buzzsaw, slicing through the night. No one could even tell where it came from.

All they saw was the recon drone take a direct hit—cut halfway through by the card—and crash to the ground.

It landed right in front of Harrison, who immediately shoved people back.

"Shit!"

"Kaitō Kid is confirmed—everyone stay sharp!"

Harrison couldn't be 100% sure about anything else, but the red card that downed the drone? That he recognized instantly.

No one else in the world could turn a playing card into a precision weapon like that.

Soon after, a voice reported from the rooftop.

"Captain Frank, we've confirmed—it's a dummy..."

Everyone had been on edge, mobilized in full force... only to be baited by a decoy.

Harrison, however, wasn't surprised. He was long used to Kaitō Kid's tricks and kept his cool.

Meanwhile, Marina had started livestreaming, even narrating like a pro commentator.

The internet was packed with viewers just waiting for her stream—because hers was the only feed broadcasting directly from the scene.

"Hello, everyone! Kaitō Kid has already made his move—Director Harrison and Captain Frank are currently searching the premises!"

"Can't wait to see how Kaitō Kid shows up next!"

Marina was one of Kaitō Kid's fans—and this time, it just so happened that he was stealing from her own home.

[What the hell? Marina really is a Kaitō Kid fan?]

[Oh shit! It kinda looks like she's totally okay with Kaitō Kid coming to her house!]

[Come on, she's filthy rich—she's not worried about anything getting stolen. Chill out, people!]

[That's what a real heiress looks like. To her, money's just numbers. You think she cares if something gets taken?]

In a way, even if Kaitō Kid made off with some ridiculously expensive artifact from the estate, neither Carlos nor Marina would be heartbroken.

They might even enjoy the excitement. Kaitō Kid's arrival was probably the most interesting thing to happen in a long time.

That's exactly why Marina had rushed back—just to witness this in person.

"Director Harrison, we've found nothing unusual with the dummy so far!"

"No sign of Kaitō Kid inside the estate either!"

Frank froze on the spot when he heard the report.

A flying dummy, a playing card that took down a surveillance drone—and still no trace of Kaitō Kid?

"Director Harrison, could it have all just been a decoy?"

Harrison was uneasy. His instincts were screaming.

Kaitō Kid never acted without purpose. If he'd done this, it meant something bigger was in motion.

They just hadn't seen it yet.

"Impossible."

Harrison said with absolute certainty.

"Kaitō Kid is here. We just haven't found him."

"Every move he makes is calculated for the next one. There's no such thing as a pointless distraction with him."

That take sparked a wave of agreement in the livestream chat.

[Looks like Captain Frank still doesn't get Kaitō Kid. They really should just let Director Harrison run the show.]

[Kaitō Kid wouldn't bother with a fake-out. I'd bet anything—he's already inside the estate.]

[Hilarious. He's already here, and they still can't find him!]

[Oh my god! Are they seriously just going to sit and wait?]

[What else do you expect, genius? Got a better idea?]

The chat was blowing up.

For Zhang Yang, sneaking into the estate was just step one.

The real task was finding the location of the Sheep Head. In such a massive villa, trying to locate a single treasure wasn't going to be easy.

His next move was to get inside the building and start searching.

At the moment, all of Frank and Harrison's men were patrolling the grounds. The only time anyone had entered the villa was when they'd gone up to the rooftop to check the dummy.

"Looks like I'll need a solid excuse to get inside the house."

That was easy enough. Zhang Yang pulled a Super Smoke Bomb from the points shop and aimed it at a third-floor window.

"Crash—!"

Glass shattered as the bomb sailed through. Smoke instantly filled the room.

[Oh shit! Kaitō Kid just entered the house!]

[What the hell? How'd he get in? That's impossible!]

[This is wild. With all those guards, he still slipped inside!]

[You've got the FBI and MI5 here, and they can't even lock down a door!]

[Hahahaha, this is straight-up ridiculous now!]
