It has already been a few days since Spes's party set off from Port Ortus, finally leaving the Continent of the Great Kingdom.
"Hahaha!" The old captain Oblitus laughed loudly as the clouds above parted, revealing the calm blue sky, vaster than the waters below them.
"Them gods are in our favor!" he shouted, slapping the ship's helm, keeping their course straight.
The old Oblitus would randomly add comments such as these every now and then to chase away boredom from his mind.
"Ye Inquisitors be lame!" he grunted, seeing how the fully armoured knights would spend most of their days training non-stop.
"Somebody gotta clean ma baby!" he shouted at Vota's men who were just idling around, their pride making them ignore Oblitus's excessive demands as they only answered to Vota, who was still deeply snoring within his cabin.
Sighing deeply upon being given the silent ear, the old Oblitus glanced below him, where two figures were pouncing on each other on the ship's deck.
"Keep it on, lad! Maybe in a few more hundred years you'll make it!" Many drops of saliva shot out of his mouth as he cackled, seeing Spes getting thrown around.
His small fun time paused as he suddenly felt a chill behind him. Turning around, Crystal stood there with her usual cold demeanor, staring annoyingly with her silver eyes.
"Leave them be," she said, getting closer to the helm, leaning on the wooden railing in front, turning her head at the pair that just took a small pause.
"Ye not training the lad today, milady?" Oblitus smiled wryly, his golden tooth shining brightly among the few teeth he had left.
Crystal completely ignored the old man, her eyes glued on the two on the deck, especially towards Spes, the pattern of beautiful flowers reflecting through her eyes.
"I didn't expect you to have this much potential!" Decus smiled after the small spar they had earlier. The handsome man with long hair was standing completely fine, while Spes was slumped on the ground, exhausted.
"This Decus is a monster..." Liber's robotic voice resounded in Spes's head.
"Even with the Seed's Combat Assistance, each calculated move of ours was easily brushed off. Both your stamina and my magic did not even faze him a bit!"
Spes bitterly chuckled, realizing the disparity in strength between him and the two Inquisitor leaders. Standing up, he could now feel his Physique in effect, his bruises healing, his stamina slowly returning.
Since they sailed, every day he would continue training with Crystal. Of course, it's not that he previously beat her that his bouts with her would be easier. On the contrary, Crystal got more serious, using more speed and strength.
Something that Liber reveled in as the Seed would send in reports on Spes's progress on the LifeStream Physique's cultivation.
[[Spes]]
[[Race: Human]]
[[Job: Apprentice Knight]]
[[Mana Pool: 5 U]]
[[Spiritual Sense: Lvl 3 (in sync with Liber)]]
[[Physique: LifeStream Physique (Mortal Stage / Middle Phase)]]
+New: Apprentice => Apprentice Knight
+New: Spiritual Sense Lvl 2 => Lvl 3
+New: LifeStream Physique Early Phase => Middle Phase
Upon reaching the Middle Phase of his Physique, not only did Spes receive a boost in his regenerative powers, but his flesh's durability increased significantly. With the new data, Liber theorized that the LifeStream Physique wasn't only limited to regenerative powers, especially during its Mortal Stage.
With how Spes had been advancing the past few days, the boosts he received in his regenerative powers were slight, unlike his fleshly body which had changed drastically. Liber deduced that the Mortal Stage was all about cultivating the fleshly body.
With his Physique at its Middle Phase, Spes's body was more defined; the young man no longer looked like a scrawny kid.
It was then that Decus approached him, maybe noticing his enthusiasm or his sudden physical change. The handsome young man accepted to give Spes knight training, both he and Crystal now training him daily, alternating each day.
And today his first training with Decus had begun, receiving warm words about how he had potential despite his miserable defeat against the Inquisitor's vice captain.
"Hey, I was serious when I said you had potential." Decus approached Spes, patting his shoulder a few times, seeing how he was just wryly smiling.
"You have some good fighting intuition there. No... good seems to undermine your skills... You got genius-level fighting intuition, Spes. I just need to grind into you the Knight's way and you'll be like me in no time." Decus laughed, seeing how his words of encouragement had their effects on Spes, who scratched his head as a small smile formed on his face.
