Chapter 84 - [83] Chidori and Rasengan

"How about you spar with Tengen, Kakashi?" The suggestion reached Tengen's ears.

Tengen paused for a moment, not because he was to duel with Kakashi, after all, in his mind, Kakashi was no match for him. Especially after absorbing the elite Jonin experience pack last night, Tengen had grown even stronger. Even Minato wouldn't stand a chance against him in a fight.

The reason for his pause was that a task had been triggered in his mind.

"Engage in combat with Kakashi; victory will grant you a standard Naruto video." That was the task.

While a standard Naruto video wasn't the most valuable reward, it was still better to have it than not. Tengen was always eager to collect various videos, and standard ones were better than ordinary ones.

Moreover, the idea of overpowering the young Kakashi stirred a complex emotion within Tengen, perhaps stemming from some mischievous aspect of his 15-year-old self.

Now, Tengen no longer concealed his abilities, be it Armament Haki or other skills. Dealing with Kakashi would be effortless.

Upon hearing Obito Uchiha's suggestion, Kakashi's eyebrows twitched slightly, indicating his interest.

"Kakashi, if you're up for a challenge, why not give it a try? As Konoha's genius who became a Jonin at twelve, an unprecedented feat, perhaps today you'll meet someone who can defeat you and learn that there's always someone better." Minato smiled as he looked at Kakashi.

"Alright, Tengen, would you duel with me?" Kakashi turned his gaze to Tengen.

"Of course." Tengen replied with a smile. He had just received the task to defeat Kakashi. Earlier, he had considered inviting Kakashi himself if he refused, knowing it would be easy to provoke the stubborn genius who had become even more obstinate after his father's death. But now, that wasn't necessary.

"Excellent. This training ground is perfect for your match. I'll act as the referee." Minato said, observing both of them.

The training ground was spacious enough for their battle, eliminating the need to seek another location.

"Both of you possess Jonin-level strength, so exercise caution in your attacks." Minato warned.

With Jonin capabilities, a single misstep could prove fatal. However, Jonin typically have superior control over their ninjutsu compared to lower ranks, making accidents less likely. Still, when opponents are evenly matched, the risk escalates, and a small mistake could lead to grave consequences.

"Kakashi, I've heard you've developed your own lightning-based ninjutsu. I'd like to see it." Tengen said, eyeing Kakashi from a distance.

"Tengen, I've also heard from our teacher that your knowledge of ninjutsu is exceptional, even surpassing his in some areas. Let's see who the true genius is between us." Kakashi responded.

"Both of you, prepare yourselves. The match begins now." Minato announced, watching the two ready themselves.

With a swift motion, Kakashi unleashed a barrage of shuriken.

Tengen remained still, deftly deflecting each shuriken with precise strikes of his kunai.

In an instant, Kakashi was upon him, kunai in hand, slashing at Tengen.

Their kunai clashed with a resounding clang, and the force of the impact sent Kakashi staggering back several steps.

"Try again, Kakashi." Tengen challenged, stamping his foot and charging forward.

"His taijutsu is incredibly strong, even surpassing Might Guy's." Kakashi thought, his expression shifting. He had known from the Chunin Exams that Tengen's taijutsu was on par with a Jonin's, but now he realized it was fully at that level, and Tengen likely wasn't even exerting himself fully.

"Konoha Great Whirlwind!" Kakashi concentrated his strength into his right leg, unleashing a powerful sweeping kick towards Tengen, reminiscent of a raging hurricane.

Though not a taijutsu specialist, as a Jonin, Kakashi had mastered essential physical techniques.

"Impressive taijutsu, but still not enough." Tengen retorted, swinging his arm with tremendous force, generating a fierce gust.

He aimed to counter Kakashi's leg attack with his arm, despite knowing that leg strength typically exceeds arm strength.

Their limbs collided with a thunderous boom. An overwhelming force surged through Kakashi's leg, sending him flying backward. He crashed into a nearby tree, which toppled from the impact.

The sheer power of Tengen's punch was evident.

"Remarkable taijutsu." Minato murmured, his eyes fixed on the scene, ready to intervene if necessary.

Tengen's physical prowess astounded Minato; each strike seemed imbued with strength akin to Tsunade's.

"Tengen, since you're eager to witness my original ninjutsu, here it is." Kakashi declared from afar. He lowered his arm, and silver lightning began to crackle around it, accompanied by the chirping of a thousand birds.

The piercing sound echoed throughout the training ground.

"So this is Kakashi's Chidori." Obito thought, feeling a pang of envy. In terms of skill, Kakashi was indeed superior.

"Chidori." Tengen acknowledged with a smile. In his hand, chakra rapidly coalesced into a spinning blue sphere.

Rasengan.

Empowered by the lightning, Kakashi's speed surged dramatically.

Tengen matched his velocity, both ninjas hurtling towards each other.

Their techniques clashed with explosive force.

"Boom!"

Chidori and Rasengan collided in a spectacular display of power.
