A violent surge of Reiatsu exploded in every direction. Susanoo and the Gedo Statue—two towering figures—stood like gods or demons descending into the world.
They struck together, their power overwhelming like an unbreakable prison or divine wrath.
On the left, Susanoo raised its massive sword.
On the right, the Gedo Statue lifted its enormous foot.
Hitsugaya Tōshirō's face turned pale. He hadn't fought in the earlier battle and didn't know much about Nanaya's strength. In his mind, Nanaya was just a mutated human—not someone that could be this powerful.
But now, he realized how wrong he had been.
The other captains saw the situation and wanted to help. But the Six Paths of Pain weren't weak. Even without true life, they were strong enough to hold back the six captains and stop them from assisting.
"Ryūsenka!" (Dragon Shot Rack!)
Gritting his teeth, Hitsugaya swung his blade.
A cross-shaped blast of ice energy slashed through the air.
But before it could even hit, Susanoo cut it apart, and the Gedo Statue crushed the remaining shards under its foot.
Susanoo's sword came down.
The Gedo Statue stomped.
BOOM!
A deafening roar echoed across the Seireitei.
A massive rift tore through the ground—a pitch-black chasm no one could see the bottom of. Dust and debris filled the air.
Terrified Shinigami stared at the destruction.
The crack stretched from the 12th Division all the way to the 7th Division.
Where the Gedo Statue's foot landed, the ground sank nearly eight meters, with countless fractures spreading outward.
Buildings of the 12th Division shook violently. Walls split. Then everything collapsed.
Even the heavily reinforced walls of the Research and Development Bureau cracked like fragile glass, swaying like candles in the wind.
After all this, Nanaya calmly stepped forward and said without looking back:
"Yoruichi, run. People are about to die."
Yoruichi's eyes twitched as she sensed something.
Not far away, the Reiatsu in the air was growing hotter and hotter.
"The old man's angry."
"Trying to run!?" came a furious shout.
Yamamoto Genryūsai, the Head Captain, stood still, his soul-cutting sword in hand, his gaze burning with fury.
He couldn't believe that after eight captains attacked together, Hitsugaya Tōshirō still ended up seriously injured.
As for Susanoo and the Gedo Statue, he had never taken them seriously.
So what if they were like Adjuchas-level Menos Grande?
Even if they were Vasto Lorde-level?
Over the past thousand years, Yamamoto had slain countless enemies at that level.
Gripping his Zanpakutō—Ryūjin Jakka—he swung it down with force and shouted:
"Burn, rise into embers and leave the world in ashes—Ryūjin Jakka!"
Flames surged across the sky.
Thousands of degrees of blazing fire exploded outward, setting the sky ablaze. A massive tornado of fire twisted forward, distorting space with its heat.
Nanaya reacted quickly. He ordered the Gedo Statue to block the flames.
The Gedo Statue let out a roar. Lightning sparked from its back.
"ABU!!"
A blinding flash of fire.
The Gedo Statue was sliced in two.
Its upper body crashed to the ground, consumed by flames.
"DEUT!!"
Nanaya saw the statue fall and couldn't help muttering, "That's what being single for a thousand years does to someone?"
(TLnote-i could relate)
He took a deep breath and kept running.
Yoruichi's scalp tingled in alarm.
Even during the Hollow incident a hundred years ago, Yamamoto hadn't drawn his sword.
Now, he had unleashed his full fury.
"Yoruichi, don't fight it!" Nanaya shouted.
Seeing the fire chasing them, he wrapped his arms around Yoruichi and took off.
She struggled for a moment, then gave up and asked, "What's the plan? The old man's Shunpo is only slightly slower than mine."
Yamamoto, the strongest Shinigami of the last thousand years, had mastered all four Shinigami disciplines—Zanjutsu, Hakuda, Hohō, and Kidō. He had reached the peak of perfection.
"Just watch," Nanaya said.
His Rinnegan eyes glowed. A wave of repelling force erupted beneath him.
He combined Shunpo with this repulsion perfectly—speed with explosive propulsion.
In an instant, they dashed from the 12th Division to the 8th.
Yamamoto narrowed his eyes as he watched them flee. "What was that ability…?" he muttered, stopping for a moment.
Meanwhile, the other captains—like Aizen Sōsuke and Kyoraku Shunsui—had finished off the Six Paths of Byakuya Kuchiki.
They turned to look at Captain Yamamoto, a little uneasy.
He scowled and snapped, "You couldn't handle a few fake bodies in less time!?"
The captains looked embarrassed.
The Six Paths of Byakuya were modeled after Pain, and though they looked impressive, they were only at the strength level of a vice-captain.
If the captains had really wanted to finish them, a single Bankai each would've done it.
But none of them had.
They were made up of two traitors, a battle-maniac, a creepy girl, a reluctant brother-in-law, and two captains who just didn't want the hassle.
None of them really wanted to end the fight quickly.
Yamamoto had no patience for any of it.
He ignored his strange group of captains, sheathed his sword, and walked off toward the First Division, saying coldly:
"Captain Kuchiki… By order of Central 46, the criminal Rukia Kuchiki must be judged..."
Elsewhere…
In the underground area of Urahara's shop, Nanaya slumped against a stone wall, still catching his breath.
"Man... that was insane!"
He clutched his chest, the memory of Yamamoto's power still fresh in his mind.
"Isn't that old man way too strong!?"
Even with the Gedo Statue—his strongest summon—he couldn't stop Yamamoto.
And the statue had been destroyed in a single blow.
"That old man… he's not even human," Nanaya muttered. "He's on a whole different level from the other captains."
"Of course he is! He's the Captain-Commander, the strongest Shinigami in the last thousand years. Why else do you think he has that title?" Yoruichi rolled her eyes at him.
Even she had been shaken by what just happened.
Trying to calm her nerves, she undressed and slowly stepped into the hot spring, letting out a soft sigh of relief.
Nanaya, watching the scene, mumbled to himself, "I used to think Yamamoto was just a bit stronger than Sister Unohana… but I was way off. That Reiatsu—it's not just a bit stronger—it's overwhelmingly stronger. Feels like it's equal to three captains combined… and that was just his Shikai."
"So does that mean Sister Unohana was really strong too? Strong enough to fight the Captain-Commander?" he asked, still thinking it over.
Yoruichi answered casually, "You're overthinking it. Yamamoto beat Unohana Retsu mostly thanks to Ryūjin Jakka's power."
Nanaya's eyes lit up in realization.
No wonder after being defeated by Yamamoto, Unohana didn't go wild or resist—she couldn't. There wasn't any kendo involved in that fight. Just raw power.
Zaraki Kenpachi was kind of the same—relying on brute strength. But at least Zaraki had some foundation in swordsmanship.
Unohana had gone insane until she met Nanaya, who copied over 8,000 types of sword techniques. That's when she realized he was more suited for battle than Zaraki himself.
"By the way," Yoruichi suddenly said, remembering something. She glanced at Nanaya and asked, "That monster you summoned—it got destroyed. Does that affect you?"
"No, not at all," Nanaya replied, shaking his head. "That thing was something I created. I can always make another."
The Gedo Statue he summoned wasn't the same one from the Naruto world. His version was built by absorbing Shinigami spiritual energy.
"That's incredible..." Yoruichi said in amazement.
Even though he nearly died at the hands of the Captain-Commander, Nanaya's strength was still undeniable.
One against eight—and he still managed to seriously injure Hitsugaya Tōshirō.
Meanwhile, back in the 12th Division…
The captains Yamamoto had just scolded stood near the edge of the massive crater, staring at it in silence.
The ground was cracked in every direction, the hole charred and endless—like a piece of the world had been torn away.
Kyoraku Shunsui shook his head slowly. "What a monster… he reminds me of someone else. Another human who gained terrifying powers…"
The other captains turned toward him, surprised.
It was already hard to believe that a human could give birth to someone like Nanaya.
But from Kyoraku's words, it sounded like there was another one before him—someone just as strong.
A quiet moment passed.
Then Aizen Sōsuke's eyes narrowed, his voice calm and sharp:
"The former king of the Quincy… Yhwach?"
