"Your faceless man finally has a face." Nada commented just as she drew open the curtains to Ember's room.
Ember, who was still half-asleep, squinted on instinct, expecting the harsh rays of morning sunlight since her guest room was facing the east, but she felt no such sunlight nor its rays.
She opened her eyes slowly, and the most dreary, dull weather greeted her.
She had forgotten for a second that she was now in Vaskor—the only place where the sun didn't dare to shine even when other regions were experiencing a full blown heat season.
She expelled a breath. She supposed such dreary weather had its advantages depending on the perspective one looked at it from.
"Nada, it's not exactly good behavior to go through my sketchbook so early in the morning." She groaned, rubbing sleep from her eyes.
If anything, she wanted to go back under her duvet and continue her sleep. She was far too tired, and her bones ached, evidencing the same.
