Some time later,
the whole squad stood in front of Mei Terumī. She looked toward the two individuals Ao had mentioned. Even though they were wearing masks, she could definitely recognize that presence—especially one of them—from the Bingo Book.
She spoke first.
"So, you're the squad Konoha has decided to send here to help us?"
Naruto stepped forward and replied calmly, "Yes. We have been sent by our Hokage and the Council to support your rebellion. Our mission is straightforward: overthrow the current Mizukage and help install you as the new one."
Mei blinked in surprise, her expression unreadable. "I see. I was wondering... if Konoha has sent you, then you must be well-known shinobi." She looked between Naruto and the one she suspected to be Itachi.
Itachi responded, his voice calm. "Our identities are classified, Mei-sama. And as for our mission—it may not be exactly what you were told."
Mei's eyes narrowed slightly. "What do you mean by that?"
Naruto spoke next, with a composed tone. "We're not here to assist the rebellion in the usual sense. We are not supporting your faction because of ideology or loyalty. We are here for one reason only: to remove the current Mizukage and place you in his position. Nothing more."
There was immediate tension in the room, and murmurs began to rise among Mei's advisors. Some were preparing to object, but Mei raised her hand to silence them. Her gaze locked onto Naruto.
"I've heard of you," she said. "If I'm not mistaken, you're known as the Demonic Flesh, aren't you?"
Silence fell over the squad. Naruto neither confirmed nor denied it. Itachi remained silent as well.
Mei continued, her tone slightly skeptical. "You may be strong, but you must understand—our Mizukage is no ordinary opponent. He's the strongest Kage in our history. He can fully control the three-tailed beast's transformation. Do you honestly believe you can take him on? I've heard the rumors… but you're still so young."
Naruto gave a small chuckle, then looked directly at her.
"People have told me the same thing before. Again and again. And in the end, they were all disappointments. Not one so-called 'elite shinobi' has ever been able to truly challenge me in battle."
Some of the shinobi around Mei looked surprised or even offended, but Mei herself just studied Naruto carefully, wondering if this kid was out of his mind—or if his confidence was justified.
Then Naruto pulled a scroll from his cloak and tossed it to her. "Get ready for tomorrow. Because tomorrow, you're going to sit in the Mizukage's chair. And you're going to sign that scroll."
Mei caught the scroll and, intrigued, opened it. Her eyes scanned through the contents. It was a military and political alliance agreement between the Land of Water and the Land of Fire. Her eyes widened slightly as she read further, surprised by how thorough and strategic the document was…To be honest, these Konoha shinobi weren't so bad after all.
She chuckled lightly. "You honestly believe that you and your squad alone are enough to take on the Mizukage's forces and defeat him?"
Naruto gave a small shrug. "I'm more than enough. My squad is just here as backup." He looked toward them, and most of the squad members smirked slightly.
To be honest, whenever Naruto was on a mission, it always ended with overwhelming success—and often destruction. The rest of the squad usually just watched. Whenever they tried to interfere, they often ended up getting hurt, because Naruto's battles were always intense, chaotic, and on a whole different scale.
Itachi stepped forward and added calmly, "Don't worry, Mei-sama. Soon enough, you will be the next Mizukage. We'll see you tomorrow."
With that, most of the squad vanished in a blur, leaving Mei stunned. She opened her mouth to say something but found no words.
Had she just lost Konoha's support like that?
The shinobi Konoha had sent were... arrogant. Overconfident. It worried her—they might actually die. But there was little she could do now. Her own forces were not strong enough to take down the current Mizukage on their own. If these Konoha shinobi could deal heavy damage, even if they died doing it, then perhaps she could swoop in afterward and seize victory.
She nodded to herself.
Turning to Ao, she said, "Well then, make sure our forces are ready for tomorrow. Even if they can't win, hopefully they'll weaken the Mizukage's forces enough for us to move in and finish it."
Ao simply nodded in agreement, while Mei stood silently, staring out into the distance. She would personally watch the battle unfold.
Meanwhile, the entire ANBU squad regrouped in front of Naruto and Itachi. Naruto looked over them calmly.
"You all know your roles in this mission."
Most of them sighed internally, but nodded without question. They knew the drill. Missions with Naruto were rarely simple.
Then Naruto turned to Itachi. "Itachi, I have something to discuss with you. You'll be coming with me."
That caught the rest of the squad off guard. Even Itachi raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean by that, Taichō?"
Naruto turned his gaze toward the distant Mizukage Tower. "I can feel the presence of the Mizukage. But... there's something wrong with him. I want to confirm something—and for that, I'll need your Sharingan. I need you to see what I suspect. Even though I'm fairly certain already."
Itachi's genius mind was already running through several possible scenarios, trying to figure out what Naruto was talking about. Still, he nodded without hesitation.
Naruto looked toward the ANBU squad and snapped his fingers. They vanished instantly from the area. While they moved, Naruto murmured, "Well then... shall we begin the party?"
Itachi chuckled. "After you, Taichō."
Naruto smirked. "Alright then—let's begin."
He pointed his finger toward a section of the village—one of the quadrants where the Mizukage's forces were concentrated. He could already sense the massive chakra signatures gathering in that area.
With a smirk, Naruto fired a concentrated beam of energy in that direction.
Boom!
A massive explosion erupted as a building was completely obliterated. Shinobi began pouring out from the area, sensing the presence of unknown, high-level intruders. Naruto's ANBU squad had already started disturbing the peace within the village, creating chaos and confusion to draw out the enemy forces.
To speed things up, Naruto destroyed another building—just to demonstrate the overwhelming power they possessed.
As expected, the Mizukage's forces quickly mobilized, forming into combat-ready units and searching for the intruders. Naruto simply smirked.
He looked toward Itachi, placed a hand on his shoulder, and in the blink of an eye, both of them vanished.
Itachi was used to it by now. One moment he was standing on a rooftop—next thing he knew, they were standing inside the Mizukage Tower. A massive hole had been blasted through the wall.
The Mizukage was already glaring at them, his chakra flaring as shinobi surrounded the two intruders.
"Who are you?" he growled. "What are you doing here?"
Naruto stood calmly, while Itachi observed the scene silently.
Many of the shinobi around them were stunned that someone had dared to attack the Mizukage Tower directly.
Naruto gave a small nod to Itachi.
That was the signal.
Itachi activated his Sharingan instantly, his eyes glowing crimson as he analyzed the chakra patterns of the Mizukage.
Within moments, his suspicion was confirmed. Something was definitely off.
He poured more chakra into his eyes. His Sharingan shifted and transformed—Mangekyō Sharingan.
And then he saw it clearly.
That chakra… it was twisted, unnatural.
He turned to Naruto. "You were right, Taichō. He's under a genjutsu."
Boom!
An explosion shook the area. Several shinobi emerged from the surroundings, startled and confused. They could feel the overwhelming presence of enemy shinobi. Naruto's ANBU had already disrupted the peace of the village, forcing the enemy forces to mobilize.
To escalate matters, Naruto decided to destroy a nearby building, demonstrating the sheer power they currently wielded. Just as he had expected, the forces of the Mizukage began gathering and moving in the form of organized troops, trying to track the source of the attack.
Naruto smirked as he glanced at Itachi. Grabbing his shoulder, the two vanished in an instant. Itachi was already used to this. One moment they were standing still, and the next—a massive hole had been blasted into the Mizukage's tower. The Mizukage stared down at Naruto and the other ANBU, his expression sharp and hostile.
"Who are you, and what are you doing here?" the Mizukage demanded.
The surrounding shinobi immediately realized what had happened. The enemy had launched a direct attack on the Mizukage's tower.
Naruto gave a subtle nod to Itachi. Taking the signal, Itachi activated his Sharingan. A moment later, he frowned. There was definitely something off about the Mizukage. Pouring more chakra into his eyes, his Sharingan evolved into the Mangekyō Sharingan.
He narrowed his eyes. "That chakra…" he muttered.
He turned to Naruto and said firmly, "You were right, Taichō. He's under a genjutsu."
The Mizukage frowned at that, while Itachi looked toward Naruto. The Mizukage glared at both of them, but Naruto simply shook his head.
"I already know whose chakra this is. It's the same person we encountered all those years ago."
Itachi tensed slightly. For a long time, he had been worried—wondering which Uchiha was responsible for all of this. He'd considered the possibility that it was his father, or perhaps some other long-lost member of the clan.
But Naruto had confirmed otherwise.
He could sense chakra signatures better than anyone. And whoever was behind this—it wasn't any known Uchiha. Naruto had memorized the chakra of every major Uchiha, and none of them matched the chaotic blend present in this situation.
Naruto explained quietly to Itachi, "These people's chakra signatures don't match anyone we know. Not even close. Their chakra is unstable... a mixture of different types—Senju chakra and others—blended together. Even Kakashi's Sharingan chakra didn't feel like this. Obito's Sharingan carried Senju chakra as well, which allowed him to maintain his Mangekyō even without the Eternal form. But this... this is something else entirely."
In canon, of course, Obito retained his Mangekyō through those means. But here, Naruto's conclusion was final.
The deception was over.
The Mizukage narrowed his eyes. "Do you honestly think you're strong enough to take me on, kid? Hmph... You might be powerful, but I'm the Mizukage."
He subtly formed hand seals, launching a massive wave of pressurized water toward Naruto and Itachi.
Naruto turned his head slightly. "Itachi, get out of here. I'll take it from here."
Itachi hesitated for a moment but nodded. He could already tell that the genjutsu placed on the Mizukage was powerful—likely too strong to break unless the Mizukage was weakened first. And there was only one person who could do that.
Naruto smirked.
As the Mizukage charged forward, suddenly—his head was grabbed violently.
Boom!
He was sent flying through the wall of his tower, crashing outside as debris rained down. Shinobi all around were stunned.
Naruto calmly turned toward them.
In a blink, he vanished—only to reappear directly in front of the Mizukage's forces. He cracked his neck.
"Well then... let's dance."
The ground beneath him shattered as he launched forward. In a flash, shinobi were sent flying left and right, as if they were weightless dolls. Naruto was moving at such extreme speed that time itself felt frozen. He could feel it—each water droplet in the air hanging still, every motion slowed to a microsecond.
In that timeless moment, Naruto darted through the enemy lines, cutting them down one by one.
Then he appeared in front of the Mizukage and slammed his fist into the man's gut.
The Mizukage screamed in pure pain and agony, blood spurting from his mouth.
A moment later, when the other shinobi blinked in confusion, they found their comrades scattered across the battlefield—most of them dead, others groaning in pain, severely injured and barely conscious.
Naruto pointed a single finger toward the survivors.
"Fire Style: Phoenix Destruction."
A colossal phoenix of fire erupted from Naruto's mouth, soaring toward the remaining shinobi. They frantically formed hand signs, trying to counter with water techniques—but it was too late.
Their water jutsu evaporated instantly upon contact with the phoenix, consumed by the heat of Naruto's dense chakra, enhanced further by his inner ki.
…As Naruto's dense chakra and his ki were empowering the flames even further, as he appeared in front of the Mizukage.
He looked down at him and said coldly,
"I don't have time for weaklings. So why don't you use your full power? And maybe—just maybe—you might be mildly entertaining."
The Mizukage gritted his teeth. This kid was infuriating.
Far away, Obito Uchiha narrowed his eyes dangerously.
This is not how it was supposed to go.
He should have already seized total control over the Mist Village, and afterward, he would begin moving toward the Three Great Nations when the time was right. But this brat—Naruto—was constantly ruining his plans.
Obito clenched his fists.
I should've killed him when I had the chance—when he was only eight years old. But that day… that kid genuinely frightened me.
Now things were spiraling out of control.
Even the Three-Tails was no match for Naruto Namikaze. The boy known as the Demonic Flash was widely regarded as the strongest shinobi in the Elemental Nations—stronger even than most of the Kage.
Back on the battlefield, Naruto smirked as red chakra began to leak from the Mizukage's body, surrounding him like a thick cloak. The transformation began.
Yagura, the Mizukage, growled, "You will pay for your crimes!"
He surged forward, partially transformed into a mini-tailed beast form, with three tails lashing behind him.
Naruto sighed, shaking his head.
I really don't have time for this.
Yagura unleashed a massive Bijūdama. In response, Naruto raised his hand and fired a concentrated blast of energy. The two attacks collided.
BOOM!
The resulting explosion tore through a large section of the village, leaving scorched earth and burning ruins behind. The sheer shockwave sent rubble flying in every direction.
A squad of shinobi began rushing toward Naruto's position, intending to aid the Mizukage—but the oppressive energy Naruto was releasing made even approaching him a terrifying ordeal.
They halted.
Watching with wide eyes, they realized the Mizukage had entered his Bijū state. They would have to stay back or risk being vaporized in the crossfire—or worse, interfering with their own leader's battle.
Naruto turned his gaze toward the partially transformed Mizukage, a mocking smirk playing on his lips.
"Is that all?"
Yagura roared in fury and lunged forward.
