Chapter 55 - Magic is Amazing, Isn't It?

Despite experiencing some small interludes,

On the tenth day of their winter journey—

The Heaven Vein Dragon safely arrived at their destination, Vol Basin.

Due to the Grand Isolation Barrier,

The forest cabin's location wasn't obvious to mana detection.

But none of this was a problem for its creators.

Soon, Agusheed and Flamme brought the little magic sprout to their former residence.

"So small, so shabby... and there's no way three people can live here."

Looking at this house that was obviously just the size of an ordinary bedroom,

Frieren twitched her ears and complained quietly.

Flamme raised her eyebrows with some helplessness and anger.

But this was quickly replaced by a mischievous smile at the corner of her mouth.

She coughed lightly and crossed her arms over her chest,

Putting on a serious appearance as she answered Frieren's impolite question:

"First, this place is shabby and small because it's just a house we two built in our spare time."

"Second, silly disciple, when did I ever say you'd be living inside?"

Frieren: "?"

The white-haired elf looked at Flamme with disbelief,

As well as Agusheed standing behind her, who maintained an attitude of indifference throughout.

"Hey, hey, that wasn't serious just now, was it?"

Frieren questioned with slight surprise.

Then, after receiving cold stares from both husband and wife, she began putting on a pitiful expression as she looked at her human teacher.

"Flamme, you wouldn't be cruel enough to make me sleep outdoors..."

Flamme squinted without answering.

But her slightly curved lips and subtle expression gave Frieren the answer.

"You really are thinking that way—"

Frieren puffed out her cheeks and stamped her feet angrily.

"Flamme, even though I have a good temper, doing this will make me very angry."

Seeing her disciple who was adorable even when angry, Flamme finally couldn't maintain her serious expression.

After bursting into laughter with a "pfft," she reached out to ruffle Frieren's hair and continued joking:

"But Frieren is an elf... shouldn't elves be good at living in the wilderness?"

Enduring Flamme's palm's roughness while listening to her stereotypes about elves,

Frieren shook her ears, maintaining her pouty expression.

"Good at wilderness living... Flamme, do you think elves are savages?"

"Eh—aren't they?"

Flamme covered her mouth with her hand, looking at the little magic sprout with feigned confusion.

Her light tone was as if she was surprised to hear something strange and bizarre.

"Of course not!"

Frieren barely even thought before directly refuting her teacher's stereotype.

"But teacher always had me sleeping outdoors before."

Flamme pinched her small face and continued questioning.

"That's because even among elves, Serie is a special case who belongs to primitive people."

"You can't lump a young elf like me together with that old hag."

"Old hag..."

"If Serie heard you call her that, she'd kill you, Frieren."

"Who cares about her..."

Frieren complained quietly.

Then she turned to look at Agusheed, who had remained silent the whole time.

"Agusheed, you wouldn't have the heart to watch your cute disciple sleep outdoors, would you?"

Watching this mother-daughter pair who liked to bicker, Agusheed sighed silently.

Then, shaking his head gently, Agusheed's large hands grabbed both of them by their collars like picking up kittens.

He separated the bickering pair, ending this farce.

Frieren dangled her legs in the air, her white hair falling like a waterfall.

Meanwhile, Flamme laughed heartily, completely ignoring her own embarrassing situation of being lifted.

—Flamme's talk about making Frieren sleep outdoors was naturally a joke.

Since they brought Frieren here, they naturally prepared a place for her to stay.

Three hours later.

Frieren sat dazedly in the unreasonably spacious living room inside the small house.

Looking at the interior structure that was exactly identical to their Eiseberg home,

The white-haired elf fell into deep thought.

Especially when she discovered that the boot she had left at the Eiseberg house was right by her feet.

Agusheed's magical abilities once again caused the little magic sprout's brain to crash.

"Incredible... Agusheed, how did you do this?"

"You clearly just moved our Eiseberg house here..."

"Don't tell me this is also a different application of Severance Magic that I haven't seen."

Frieren's questions came one after another, but out of responsibility as a teacher,

The busy Agusheed still gave her an answer during his free moments.

"This is the result of combining Space Displacement Magic with 'Spatial Severance' from Severance Magic."

"I left a 'Spatial Severance' in our Eiseberg house beforehand, then used it from this forest cabin—"

"This way I can infinitely shorten the spatial distance between the two houses."

"Finally, I just need to use Space Displacement Magic to completely connect the two houses."

Under Frieren's expression of 'what the hell are you talking about,' Agusheed finished explaining.

Although he knew it would be difficult for Frieren to understand with her intelligence, he didn't explain further.

Because he was about to start cooking dinner.

So he couldn't waste time on this now.

"If you really can't understand, just think of it as spatial teleportation."

After giving Frieren a rough summary at the end,

Making the principle as easy to understand as possible, Agusheed turned and walked toward the kitchen.

"Oh right, Frieren..."

As if remembering something important,

Agusheed turned to the still-dazed white-haired elf and instructed:

"The 'Spatial Severance' I left is located in the vacant guest room—"

"Don't approach it casually out of curiosity."

"Although I didn't give it any killing power, that 'Spatial Severance' also leads to other places where I've left marks."

Agusheed spoke with a warning tone, earnestly saying:

"The 'Inverted Pyramid,' the 'Fallen Royal Tomb'..."

"Those places where I've left marks are not places the current you can wander into recklessly—"

"If you accidentally fall in, you might even lose your life."

Having finished explaining what needed attention—

Agusheed continued into the kitchen and began preparing tonight's dinner.

And Flamme had just finished bathing, emerging from the bathroom half-wrapped in a bathrobe.

Looking at the dazed Frieren on the sofa,

She naturally knew what kind of cognitive shock this silly disciple was currently experiencing.

Because she was the same way when she first saw Agusheed's miraculous magic.

And at the end of their last journey, when she and Agusheed encountered the Demon King in 'Ende'—

Agusheed had also used this move to successfully escape from certain death.

"Frieren..."

Flamme walked to her silly disciple's side, softly calling her name.

Trying to pull Frieren back from her shock.

But it was obviously unsuccessful.

"Hehe..."

Gently poking Frieren's dazed face, Flamme chuckled softly:

"Magic is amazing, isn't it?"
