In an instant, a surge of mana erupted from Khajiit, a wave of pure negative energy rippling outward in all directions.
Adam's eyes narrowed, warily watching the necromancer.
Swish! Swish!
The two Guardian Angels' wings flared, positioning themselves before Adam, shielding him from the negative energy's reach.
Thud!
A peculiar tremor pulsed from the ground.
Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!
Rotting arms burst from the earth, clawing at the surface as undead rose. All around, zombies emerged, some crawling from tombstones, dragging severed torsos with arms as makeshift legs.
Pfft!
A zombie's arm broke through the ground beneath Adam, but a Guardian Angel's lance swiftly pierced the soil, impaling and destroying it.

Huh?
Adam paused mid-step. His summoned angel's kill granted experience?
He hadn't tested this before.
This meant he could farm experience through summons.
One point, though? These low-tier undead were weak, but one point seemed meager. Was experience from summon kills reduced, or did his higher level diminish returns from low-level foes?
Adam shelved the thought, now wasn't the time.
"ARRHHHH!"
"Hiss!"
"Groan!"
A swarm of undead filled his vision, easily over a hundred.
"Undead Control!" Khajiit sneered, his ashen face twisting. "Did you think luring my undead away would suffice?"
"This is a cemetery, corpses are never in short supply!"
"Kill him!"
At Khajiit's command, the undead horde surged toward Adam from all sides.
Swish! Swish!
The two Guardian Angels gripped their lances, yellow wings beating. Their holy-tipped weapons flashed, obliterating approaching zombies.

Adam remained calm, his gaze fixed on Khajiit atop the temple steps.
"Just a bunch of bottom-tier zombies. Numbers don't matter." He said coolly.
He knew Khajiit was probing him while preparing something in secret.
"Is that so?" Khajiit smirked.
Whoosh!
A slick, blood-red intestine shot from the zombie swarm, coiling around the corroded-armor Guardian Angel.
Bang!
The intestine tightened, yanking the angel to the ground with a thud.
Instantly, a flood of low-tier zombies swarmed it. Their meager attacks couldn't breach the angel's defenses, but their negative energy corroded the holy summon.
Boom!
The angel lasted mere moments before dissolving into light.
Adam glimpsed the culprit: an egg-shaped human corpse, split horizontally, revealing writhing organs resembling human viscera. The intestine had shot from within.
Low-tier undead, Organ Egg.
Its grotesque form made Adam grimace.
Simultaneously, six decayed, yellowish undead, moving with startling speed, leapt from the ground, seizing the second Guardian Angel.
Low-tier undead, Corpse Eaters.
Like the first, the angel was dragged down and overwhelmed, vanishing under the negative energy's assault.
In moments, both angels were gone, dispatched with minimal effort, not through brute force but by exploiting negative energy's advantage over holy summons.
Khajiit knew angels well.
"If this is all you've got, begging for mercy is too late, fool." Khajiit taunted, head high, glaring from the temple steps.
He understood divine type magic Casters intimately, having once been one.
But divine resurrection magic couldn't save his mortal mother.
Researching higher-tier resurrection required time humans lacked.
So, he'd forsaken humanity and divine type magic, embracing negative energy to become a true undead. Anyone obstructing him had one fate.
"Die." Khajiit declared coldly.
Whoosh!
The undead horde surged toward Adam.
Swish!
A fleshy intestine shot forth, and six Corpse Eaters charged.
"Enough of this tedious probing." Adam said, two scrolls appearing in his black-robed hands.
He crushed them.
Two radiant white lights coalesced before him, followed by a blaze of fire.
The Organ Egg's intestine was severed by a flaming sword, incinerated to ash.
The six Corpse Eaters were blocked by an angelic figure, its fiery blade slashing, obliterating them instantly.
Whoosh~
A breeze stirred.
Two Archangel Flames flanked Adam, their holy, flame-wreathed swords glowing like beacons in the night, illuminating his surroundings.
Their intense holy aura and searing blades halted the low-tier undead's advance.
Cloaked in his robe, face hidden beneath a wide hood, Adam stood between the archangels, exuding a sacred yet enigmatic air, a stark contrast to Khajiit, surrounded by zombies in his blood-red robe, radiating menace.
