Chapter 42 - Turmoil and The Weak Beast

...

The Immortal Realm.

The Peak Sect was in a turmoil due to some unknown reason. Disciple of the sect were running and flying here and there. All wore a worried and grim expression on their faces.

The Elders wore even more grave expressions, as they commanded the disciples, because they would be held responsible for any mistake and receive punishment from the Ancestor himself!

Nobody dared to slack off especially at this time when their lives were in danger!

There was only one reason for this chaos: ?????

...

The Azure Sky Mortal Realm.

Xian Li and his group ventured into the forest by road. When they came, they were on horses only, but now, they had bought a carriage. After Xian Li demonstrated his powers, some of the people came to curry favors with him or just become acquaintances.

As a result, they bought their goods in considerable quantity. Xian Li payed no heed to them and left them for others to attend, but those 'customers' were stubborn, saying that they will only buy from him. Xian Li intitially refused. But after the countinuous persuassion of his group, he finally yielded and sold them the goods they wanted, though with an expression that certainly didn't suit someone selling.

But they did not mind it, on the outside at least. As they had seen what he did to the one who disrepected him or disliked his attitude.

In the forest.

A carriage full of young men and women was coming from a city. Inside, everyone was sitting except for one, who seemed to be sleeping. In reality, he was not sleeping but unconcious, knocked out by Xian Li's icy chill gaze. Fear filled his mind as he fell and fainted.

The group, however, unbothered by the unconcious young man in front of him, talked and laughed with each other , ocasionally giving few gazes to their 'sleeping' friend.

Xian was not with the group, but was driving the carriage, as no one in the group had ever travelled in a carriage, let alone know how to drive it. So, Xian Li volunteered for it.

They had rushed and met a pharmacist and the pharmacist said that he would wake up in couple of hours. Only then did they let out a sigh of relief. They wanted to ask Xian Li, as they were completely confused. They did not know that how their friend had fainted but they did not suspect Xian Li.

Xian Li met with a mountain of question asked to him but he stayed silence. After they saw that Xian Li did not want to disclose any information about him, they decided to leave it and continued normally, as if nothing had happened.

After they stopped asking questions, Xian Li felt a huge force of a mountain carried off his shoulders and he quitely led the group in the carriage to their next location: Their home!

Upon entering the forest, Xian Li hastened the carriage, taking the group off-guard. When Xian Li said that it was just for fun, only then did they beleive everything was fine.

After 40 minutes, the carriage was slowly moving with Xian Li in the front. Xian Li suddenly heard the sound of footsteps, a lot of footsteps!

He let out his divine sense to see what was going on. He saw that a large herd of Red-bone wolves was rnning towards them.

Red-bone wolves were ferocious beasts with only killing intent in their eyes, not even sparing their own when they were hungry. They were red in colour with two teeths who looked like tusks or bones, coming out of their mouth, hence their name.

Xian Li saw that they were running as if their life depended on it. When he spread out his Divine sense, it turned out that they were really running for their life. Behind them, was a monstrous beast in front of which, wolves looked like specs of dust, or ants if not bigger.

It had an elephant - type shape except that It had two devil- like horns on top of his head which emmited a terrifying aura filled with red, killing intent. The strange thing, however, was that Xian Li didn't sense it before. Ionly when he focused, did he realsed the presense of that monster.

It was at the mid-stage of The Void-Step Realm and released aura which looked like, it was supressed deliberately by the monster itself.

Though Xian Li didn't know the exact reason, he felt that it must be because the monster was recently released from a bind or curse.

The second reson could be- There was someone stronger than him near-by and due to the fear of being killed by that cultivator with strong preseence. Xian felt the second reason more logical because He, too had sensed a strong presence at the Peak Of Void Step, Half-Step into the Mahayana Realm.

Nevertheless, Xian Li didn't pay any attention to it and immediately turned towards another direction because they were too weak to even raise their head in front of him, let alone attack him. Xian Li didn't had anything to do with them as long as they didn't come bother him or his group, or the consequeces of which would be too terrifying for it to even imagine!

It would face consequences worse than death. Hell!, It would even beg for death!
