Birds chirped in happiness as the sun's first warm rays pierced the darkest of corners, illuminating the world. The wind blew softly through the trees, leaves rustling with every encounter.
Sunlight entered Sei's room, escaping from the thin spaces between the curtains. Sei's eyes flickered as the rays flushed over his face. He opened his eyes with a groan.
It had become unusual for him to encounter sunlight so early because the academy walls don't let the sunlight in before late.
He stood up, grabbing his head, "It hurts," he complained.
Then he opened his eyes in realization, "Oh shit, I have to go back today."
He immediately threw himself off the bed and walked out of his room with slow steps. The house was silent, and no one was around. He went ahead to his mother's room, but no one was there, not even Navi, who had been staying in her room.
'Huh, where did mom go this early?' he thought, scratching the back of his head. 'Maybe out to get some fruits and stuff.'
