Chapter 112 - Chapter 113: The Collapse of the Bigwigs – A Massacre Was Just the Opening Act?

"Alright, ladies and gentlemen, now that the ones who needed to go are gone, shall we move on to the main event?"

Alex's voice rang out again as he casually clapped his hands, like he had just wrapped up a trivial chore.

The survivors—all high-ranking officials—felt their minds going blank.

What?!

He just slaughtered over twenty top-level government figures, and that wasn't even the main event?

That was just… a warm-up?

Are you kidding me?!

If the prelude was already this bloody and brutal, what the hell was the real deal going to look like?

Some of them were already on the verge of tears.

"I told you—I came here today to demand justice for us mutants."

Alex didn't care what expressions the bigwigs wore. He calmly continued, "And now, there's just one final step left."

"You twisted the truth in your press conferences. You smeared mutants in front of the entire world. You painted us as monsters and criminals—made my brothers and sisters carry sins that weren't theirs."

"What I'm demanding now is simple: fairness and justice."

"I won't deny what we mutants have done—but the crimes you committed? Don't think you can just pin them on us."

"Tell your president—he has twenty-four hours. I want him to tell the world the truth. The real, unbiased, unfiltered truth."

"If he doesn't... today will just be the beginning. I'll wipe out every single key figure in your country's leadership."

"You've seen what I'm capable of. You've witnessed it with your own eyes. Your weapons, your armies, your pride... they're worthless against me."

"Choose wisely."

"Emma, we're leaving."

With those final words, Alex turned to White Queen and strode away without looking back.

The remaining officials could only stare as the two executioners walked out. No one dared to stop them.

Even after Alex and Emma's figures completely vanished, the survivors remained frozen, breathing only when the door finally closed.

Only then did they realize—they were drenched in cold sweat. Their limbs were weak. Many collapsed straight into their chairs, completely drained.

The devil... was finally gone.

Even long after the two mutants had left, a few officials hesitated before nervously cracking the door open to peek outside.

To their shock, the hallway was quiet as if nothing had happened. No chaos. No alarms. No bodies.

The agents posted outside were standing there as calm and casual as ever.

What the hell?!

All that had happened inside—and these guys had no clue?

One of the agents noticed the officials' pale expressions and walked up respectfully. "Senator, General. Is something wrong?"

The senator and the general glanced at each other. Both saw raw fear in the other's eyes.

How could no one outside know what just happened?!

"Are you telling me... you didn't notice anything?" the general asked, his voice shaking.

"Notice what, sir? Did something happen?" the agent asked, confused.

"What about the two people who went in earlier? You didn't see them?" the senator questioned, disbelief written all over his face.

"Two people? No, sir. No one has gone in," the agent replied firmly.

"You're sure?"

"I'm absolutely certain, Senator."

Boom.

It felt like their brains exploded. Their hearts plummeted straight into the abyss.

Their fear of Alex skyrocketed to a whole new level.

He'd just murdered twenty-plus top officials a few meters away from fully armed guards—and not a single soul outside noticed?

Was it all an illusion?

But back inside the conference room—those mangled corpses on the floor said otherwise.

When the returning officials relayed everything that had happened, the others in the room reacted just the same.

Gasps filled the air. Faces went pale. Bodies trembled.

Who the hell were those two?!

They came and went like phantoms. Even now, the bigwigs weren't sure whether Alex and White Queen had truly left—or were still lurking nearby.

Fear ran deep. But truthfully—they were overthinking it.

No one could blame them though. Alex had utterly shattered their courage.

At that moment, he and the three women were already strolling away from the Pentagon, as casually as if they'd just finished a coffee break.

---

Back outside the building—

"Alex, do you think they'll actually do what you said?" Raven asked, glancing one last time at the looming Pentagon behind them before turning her eyes back to him.

After all, what he'd demanded... was no small thing.

It meant the President slapping his own face on the global stage. It would make America the laughingstock of the entire world.

"Honestly, I think they will," said the White Queen with a sly smile. "Shame you weren't there to see it, Raven. Those so-called elites? They looked no different than terrified rats."

"If they're not complete idiots," Copy cat added, "they'll know they have no other choice."

"Alex waltzed into the Pentagon, killed over twenty high-ranking officials, and walked out untouched," she continued. "Anyone who saw that would know—his threats aren't just empty words."

"He has the power... and more importantly, the will to use it."

Exactly.

Slaughtering twenty-plus leaders as a mere prologue—if that doesn't make them wake up, then Alex would have no problem coming back to finish the job.

That said, Alex doubted it would come to that.

Even putting aside the optimism of Emma and the others, Alex remembered something else—

That ever-smiling man... the President?

Alex was fairly certain he was a mutant too.

Sure, the guy hadn't stood up for mutants during the last press conference—but in that situation, it might've been out of his hands.

Blindly defending mutants back then would've looked suspicious. Reckless, even. No seasoned politician would've risked that.
