"Well before you set out, there are a few people that are interested in meeting you."
Those were the words that I had been waiting for.
After all, a hero should have a party.
The important event for this first visit to the capital was to recruit a party that would come with me on my journey.
I had already found one member since it was clear that Amy would follow me no matter what, but that didn't mean that this was enough. Amy was the saintess and just a healer, that alone wouldn't be a balanced party.
I still needed a tank and some form of DPS to balance out this party.
That was why I was waiting for them to trigger this event.
"Of course, I would be happy to meet these people." I said to the king with a smile.
With that, the king and his group started to lead me out of the church.
Amy seemed like she wanted to follow, but she was stopped by the archbishop before that could happen. But to my surprise, it seemed like she was able to convince the archbishop to come along in the end.
I didn't see what happened since we had already left the church during that time, but the result was that Amy and the archbishop showed up at the castle. They had even arrived before the king's group, almost as if they had teleported to the castle.
The king even looked at the archbishop with one raised brow when he saw this.
But all the archbishop did was reveal a bitter smile in response without explaining anything.
The only one that seemed happy in all of this was Amy.
She had a smile on her face as if she had just grasped victory from the jaws of defeat.
It wasn't hard to guess what had happened with the way that the two of them were acting.
But this did confirm one thing…
"I don't have to look for a healer, so I just have to find a tank and a DPS."
This was the only thought that passed through my mind when I saw Amy.
Though she was happily waving at me when she saw that I was looking in her direction.
After this interruption, the king led us into the main banquet hall of the castle. There wasn't a banquet that was set up, but rather there were a bunch of people that were waiting for us.
This was a group that had all kinds of different clothes on.
All of them had clothes that were related to their classes equipped.
There were tanks, magicians, and rogues, the staple of any RPG game. But there were also different dressed people among them that represented some of the rarer jobs.
There was a jester, a beast tamer, a summoner, and several other rare jobs.
Just a single look was enough for me to tell what kind of jobs they had since the equipment that they had for their jobs were quite unique compared to equipment for other jobs.
These people with these rare jobs would make good recruits for the hero part, but I knew what I was looking for.
After all, just because one had a rare job didn't mean that they were the best option for the party. Obtaining skills was all about luck and there were times where one let the power that came with a rare job go to their head.
When that happened, their builds just weren't good at all.
Instead, I was focused on those that had focused on training up their jobs properly in terms of stat distribution and picking the right skills.
It was only those people that would work well with me.
Though it wasn't as if it was that easy to do that since I didn't have an appraisal skill.
It would have been much easier in the game since I would be able to see all the stats and skills that these people had. Instead, I had to lead them on with questions so I could figure out what kind of skills and stats that they had.
Of course, it wasn't as if everyone was that easy to lead on.
"Hero, let me join your party! I'm the strongest knight in the entire kingdom!"
"Hero, how about we have some wine together? If you have time we can have a private talk in your room later."
"I, I, I want to become a hero too."
There were those that were too arrogant or too shy to talk to properly.
Those people just weren't capable of communicating with the rest of the party at all, so it would only be a liability to take them with us.
As for the ones that tried to flirt with me, I didn't even have to do anything as Amy was more than enough.
They had confidence in their appearances, but they really couldn't match Amy at all.
Plus with her status as the saintess, it really was hard for them to compete with her.
With how few candidates there were, it really was hard to narrow down a few to bring into our party.
But by the end of it, I was able to find three candidates that I was satisfied with.
With the three of them, at least we would be able to create a balanced party that would cover all the basics that a party should have.
Or that would have been the case if not for the fact…
"Let me join your party as well."
My lips couldn't help twitching the moment that I heard this.
If it was anyone else, then it would have been easy for me to reject them. It was all because of who this person was that made it hard for me to say no.
"Andrea, are you sure that you want to go?" King Abel XIV asked in a surprised voice when he saw this person crash the gathering.
As for who this person was…
It was the third princess of this Abel Kingdom.
