He was a hunter... so why was he in this dark dimension? How did he even get here you ask? Who knows.
All he knew was that he was supposed to protect her. Her short white hair was unruly and unkept, her clothes had seen better days but they would do.
The sounds of the shadowy creatures hunting them were heard in the distance. The hunter had tried to patch up the girl as much as he could, but he didn't have any more blood left.
In front of him was a mirror, and in that mirror was a reflection of a girl, almost exactly like the unconscious one he carried. He held the girl like a sack of potatoes as he raised his hand.
As his hand touched the mirror there was a loud crack and suddenly he ended up on the opposite side of the mirror.
A flash of white blinded the hunter, and when he gained his bearings he carried Atlas unconscious as he felt the shadow monsters closing in.
"Begone," a voice echoed throughout the clearing. Destroying the shadow beast that followed.
The hunter felt the warmth of something he hadn't felt in forever as the sun Magick gave him a boost.
...
The hunter awoke in an office stripped of his gear, as he sat up he looked around to see three sets of eyes gaze at him.
"He can't speak, he's mute," Atlas said to professor swan and her sister Alexa.
(Author note. Usually names are customized for your character, so I picked alexa)
The hunter's eyes drifted to atlas as he stood, and looked swan in the eyes. The hunter's eyes flashed with a pale moon before nodding his head.
"Huh... that's a first," Atlas said with a face of wonder as she looked at the professor.
"Please refrain from doing that again," professor swan said as she shuddered.
...
Raife was too strong. Atlas, Beckett... zeph... we were too weak.
Atlas struggled to sit up, and Alex watched as she rang a bell once. Then slump to the floor.
Alexa watched helplessly as she battled raife to no end. His healing far surpasses the damage she could deal.
She was blown into a wall by raife air Magick, and tried to stand to no avail. Her Magick was running amok as the eclipse became closer.
*ding*
Noise drew the attention of both Alexa and raife, the sound of glass shattering was heard as a very pissed hunter came into view.
The shadows themselves melted before him only to be brought back to life by raife.
"I remember you," raife said with the shittiest smile on his face.
The hunter's hand went to his neck where a long cut was that never healed. A quick slice that took his vocal cords.
The dream could cure many things, but not old wounds.
"I remember you were the little rat that ran with this one," raife said as he put his fingers on his chin, as if thinking of something.
"I was so very close at that time. If it wasn't for you, atlas would have been in my hands long ago," raife said, his hand sliced down.
...
How infuriating...
The hunter closed his eyes before drawing his weapon of choice. The blades of mercy.
Not because raife was getting mercy, but because he was a hunter. A hunter of hunters.
"No response? Typical," raife said before his body was engulfed in sunlight, only to heal seconds later.
The hunter turned to the girl and nudged his head towards the mirror. He could take it from here.
"Annoying ants," raife said before throwing Magick towards Alexa.
"Solis," Alexa raised the shield just in time but the recoil sent her into the wall.
*boom*
The noise made the people who were unconscious stir and open their eyes.
The hunter moved, and fast. The hunter blade slashed across him drawing blood by the liters.
The blood only served to heal him more than raife, as the hunter drew on the lifeforce that was split.
"Enough," raife yelled before using air as a barrier.
The hunter was faster though, immediately getting out of its range, and in front of Atlas, and everyone else.
"isn't that-" Shreya said as she looked at the hunters neck.
There was a hunter's mark, but to those with no insight… Well.
"A blood att...," Becket said as he knelt, pulling Zeph, Griffen, and Atlas away from the battle.
"Who knew," a new voice joined the crew as a shocked professor swan appeared and healed them while watching the battle.
Raife stood no chance.
Healed as he wanted but the hunter was faster, stronger, more agile. He could dodge whatever Magick, or trick he wanted, but the hunter dodged or escaped them.
The hunter didn't kill him. No, he stood and forced raife to look into his eyes. The eyes of the unseen horrors of the world.
"Ahhhhh," raife screamed as he thrashed on the ground as he grabbed his head.
Forbidden knowledge... madness... so much... plip...plop..... plip..... plop.
All that remained was a shell of a man, driven to madness with the souls of the people who he killed.
"May you never find peace," a soft whisper of a voice blew through the wind. But it wasn't the hunter who said that.
The hunter stared at the red moon, of course she was here. Stupid flora and her dimensional warping powers. Could never catch a break.
"You...did it," the hunter turned to the voice and saw Atlas with a smile. Could you believe that?
Yeah... yeah he did. Now he could finally return to the dream... if only to begin his next hunt... continuing the cycle over again.
