The morning sun rays were coming inside, through the window, painting the room with golden shimmering color on the wall of Ethan's rented room. He was in his bed—Erica lying beside him, sleeping, breathing steady and soft. Her hair lay scattered over the pillow.
But Ethan's eyes didn't stay on her for too long.
A faint blue shiny screen started to flicker in front of Ethan's eyes.
[MAIN QUEST UPDATED]
[Class Ascension: Begin Your Path]
[Travel to Graveshollow. Unlock your Class Role. Complete the Trial of the Crypt.]
Then blinked once, twice. Staring at the system window, a wide grin started to form on his face. "So, it's finally time to awaken my class, huh?"
He glanced at the system window one more time. With quiet movements, he got out of bed and picked up all of his stuff. Picked up his sword which he bought the other day and tucked it around his waist.
Before leavening, he leaned down a bit and then gently kissed Erica's forehead. "That's for the fun night, Erica. I'll see you again in the future…if fate allows it."
She murmured something while being in sleep, turning over as Ethan slipped out of the room.
Ethan then made his way to the adventurer's guild, to easily travel to the Graveshollow city.
He made his way to the office department, went near a desk, pulled his adventurer ID out and then stamped it, it's a time pass to travel by using the transport system.
Then he made his way to the transportation system, the teleportation tool made the travel way too easy and it was quick.
In a flash of silver light, Ethan's body vansidhrf from Ember town—and reappeared instant at the guild hub of the Graveshollow.
The air was colder here, at least more than what he felt in Ember town.
Graveshollow was a towering city that was between the jagged hills, covered in the ghostly fog. Black towers were so tall that they were reaching the clouds, gothic architecture looming over the crowded cobblestone streets.
Traders, mercenaries, scholars, and wandering priests were all inside of the city and some were even in front of Ethan's eyes on the street.
Ethan stretched his arms a bit and cracked his neck. "Now this is my kind of a place, isn't it? " he sighed and thought. 'The place where I'll get my first class and the place where the first main event of the game will start.'
His eyes scanned through the landscape with familiarity. He'd seen this place dozens of times while he used to play this game. But now it was all real. Every store, every voice that he could hear, everything was part of the living, it was a breathing world.
As he walked toward the Shrine of Role Ascension, Ethan thought aloud.
'Dark Mage and Knight. That's the combo, destruction and domination with the defense to survive. But… normal players can only take one class at this point of the game.'
He smirked. 'But, I am not normal'
He remembered a hidden method from one of the game's earliest development patches—it was a trick that was long forgotten and got removed after a while of the patch release.
The key was the Dual-core tablet, it was hidden beneath the shrine in the city's underground chambers. The item allowed the user to have to roles class at the start of the game, which is not possible until a player reaches level 200.
Ethan whispered to himself. 'System can you show me the comparability of me and the dual core? I don't want to take useless risks and not when it's just the start of my new life.'
The blue screen appeared in front of his eyes:
[System Sync Level: 100%]
[Dual Core Compatibility: Confirmed]
'Bingo.'
Most players could never find the tablet… and those who did usually failed to get the dual-core because of the less comparability failed the synchronization and lost everything.
But Ethan had cleared every single quest, every single hidden quest, fought every hidden boss of the game and memorized every single glitchy mechanism this game had.
He looked toward the massive gate leading into the shrine plaza, where the adventurers and other people were present
There were a lot of class quests, and he had to make a decision about which class he'd go for first. Will it be Dark Mage or will it be Knight?
