Chapter 8: | The First Overlord
---
What an intriguing skill I've acquired.
Abyssal Flow Doctrine is truly a wonder.
Knowledge flooded my mind again, like any other time, but this time I comprehended it with ease.
Now this skill has given me the knowledge of how to control my anatomy and the combined knowledge of thousands of warriors.
I comprehended it like a sponge, and my Primeval Emperor – First form: Ruined Fury, has yet again become stronger as my knowledge becomes vaster.
I waved my hand.

† Abyssal Flow Doctrine (Ascension II – Passive)
This doctrine is not a technique—it is ancestral memory distilled into perfect control. Born from claw-born instinct, fluid spearcraft, and the engraved scars of a thousand warriors, it grants profound somatic awareness. You move not with strength, but with knowing—each strike calibrated by buried lessons in anatomy, momentum, and death. Your body becomes the exact answer to every threat, adapting in real time through inherited reflexes. You don't just recall how to kill—you recall how to be the body that kills best.

The hologram disappeared as I smiled at Samantha.
"Dear, did you eat?"
Samantha shook her head.
Worry began to appear on my face, since it had been days since she had last eaten.
"Dear, do you not like the dish?"
Samantha nodded as she sighed.
"They're not cooked, nor are they delicious, dear... Do you expect me to eat these? What if I get a stomach ache? What should I do?"
I sighed.
Samantha was picky about her food, and I didn't understand it, since wasn't all of it the same?
Slowly, my hand grabbed a mouthful of meat.
I chewed it, then grabbed Samantha's chin and forcefully kissed her.
Samantha resisted, as she truly didn't want to eat.
But what could I do?
Watch her starve to death?
Of course not.
I couldn't possibly watch that.
Samantha punched my chest, but I didn't care as I forcefully feed the food into her mouth, whether she liked it or not.
Tears welled in her eyes as she broke down.
"Why? Why do you force me to eat these disgusting things?"
I grabbed her chin forcefully yet gently at the same time, as I berated her.
"What do you mean by that, Samantha? Can't you see that your body is dying from the lack of food? I am worried, so please eat."
This was the first time I had ever said 'please,' and it was to none other than Samantha, the one I loved.
Samantha sobbed, crying.
"Then, cook me a proper meal, you idiot!"
I scratched my head as she glared at me.
"But how do I cook? Teach me!"
Samantha fidgeted, embarrassed.
"I... I don't know how to cook..."
Oh, it's because she doesn't know how to cook... that's why she didn't eat those raw foods.
"Then, give me an inkling of idea about it."
Samantha's head rested on my shoulder as she whispered the process of cooking into my ear.
I listened to her explanation as I nodded again and again.
"I see, so that's how you cook... Wait for me in a bit."
Slowly, I closed my eyes as I began to pull on my mana core.
Fire ignited at my palm as I slowly roasted some grouper meat.
I sniffed, feeling the meat before me smell good as it was roasted to perfection.
I see, so that's why Samantha doesn't want to eat those things, since cooking them is truly the best way.
Ripping the chitin from a crab slowly and gently, I laid down my cooked grouper meat as I slowly presented my food to Samantha.
Samantha was excited as her gaze was fixated on the food.
Then she took a bite, and I saw her forcing a smile.
"This is... good, dear..."
I brushed my hair back as I sighed and grabbed the plate.
"It's barely edible, right?"
Samantha nodded, afraid to belittle my effort.
I let out a sigh as I took a bite, and to my disgust, it was not even edible.
I slapped my forehead as Samantha tried to comfort me.
"Dear, don't worry too much. I know that your cooking skills will improve."
Samantha cheered as I chuckled, then ruffled her hair and kissed her forehead.
"You don't need to comfort me, your presence itself is already my motivation to cook better."
Days passed in a blur as I did nothing but master the art of cooking, for I, Alister, am a competent man.
Samantha and I tasted my cooking, and every meal I cooked, my understanding of how to cook a more delicious meal became deeper and deeper.
Now, Samantha would eat and crave my cooking, and that's a win, since slowly, I'm winning her heart.
Samantha groped my ass as she whispered.
"I want to eat more of your cooking."
I sighed as I slapped her hand.
"How about eating me?"
Samantha blushed as her hands swirled through my hair.
"Perhaps... but I am not ready yet."
I raised her chin as I gently kissed her lips.
Our tongues intertwined as I had now mastered the art of kissing.
Now Samantha wouldn't be able to overwhelm me.
How the tables have turned, my lovely Samantha.
I savored her taste as I wrapped my hands around her waist.
Samantha's breathing became more ragged as she pushed me away.
"It seems that you've become too dangerous, dear."
I smiled as I caressed her.
"Well, it's all thanks to a great coach."
Samantha blushed for a moment, but then she raised her hands, and I knew what this meant.
Gently, I carried her on my left arm as she rested her head against me, whispering.
"Do you think that you will be able to protect me from any danger?"
I snorted. If that's all she's asking, then I would ravage the entire realm just to protect her from any form of danger.
"My lovely Samantha, please don't worry about such a trivial thing, as I, Alister, will protect you from any harm."
Samantha cuddled as her hands were wrapped around my neck.
"That's reassuring, dear."
I hummed as my legs broke the ground below me.
"If you ever need anything, just ask me, dear... and I will acquire it."
Samantha's lips curled into a smile.
"Then, swear to me that I will be the only woman in your heart."
I was confused at her request but I nodded.
"I swear that you will be my woman forever."
Thwack!
Samantha smacked my head.
Samantha pouted as I laughed.
"Didn't I tell you to call me 'dear,' not 'your woman'!"
I chuckled.
"I already know it, but isn't it fun to tease you? You're just too cute when angered."
Samantha giggled as she whispered,
"Then... kiss me."
Without any hesitation, I kissed her and savored her taste as I couldn't help but ponder how fun our life would be.
Hours passed as I traversed the floor but found nothing.
I've forgotten which floor I'm on, but I'm pretty sure I'm at Floor 15 or above.
Samantha slept on my shoulder as I couldn't help but push her hair behind her ear while traversing through the currents.
Then pain struck my body as I let my back take the brunt of the attacks.
This time, the Overseer was a humanoid male with draconic-like features.
I sighed.
As I raised a finger, then in the next second, red lines spider-webbed across its body as I appeared behind his back.
The dragon-like humanoid before me was in disbelief.
"How?"
His scales were utterly obliterated as his horns were cut into pieces.
"It's because you're weak."
The dragon-like man shouted.
"Me, Dranic, am weak! Are you mocking me, whark?"
I sighed as I gazed at him pitifully.
"But didn't you know that you're already dead?"
Dranic clutched his neck as blood splashed.
"Impossible... this is utterly impossible."
Dranic shouted, "Dragonization!"
Then I saw it, his body shifting.
It bulged as his draconic features became more and more draconic.
But I didn't give him a chance to transform.
My body blurred like a ghost, and in a split second, I had already circled him hundreds of times.
Then red lines were etched on his body as I sighed.
"Primeval Emperor – First form: Ruined Fury."
His body was sliced clean as I yawned.
"Your strength may be strong, but such strength doesn't work on me."
Dranic's vision blurred.
So this is my end?
I, the proud Dranic of the First Calamity!
An ancestor of the Draconic Clan, utterly destroyed by a mere Whark?
It was unbelievable.
Dranic couldn't believe it.
But it was useless, his body had already been sliced into numerous pieces before it was devoured by a tentacle.
Dranic's existence was futile.
I, Alister von Fai, am a monster among monsters.
I don't need the acknowledgment of the weak, for I alone remain unmatched.
I gazed at the mural as I pondered for but a moment.
When will I truly have her approval?
