Chapter 114 - Calculations Are Meaningless

As Heisenberg's words fell, Hill and Natasha exchanged a glance, both sighing helplessly.

"Alright, BOSS, we never planned to rely on the President's cabinet for anything.

Honestly, their only use is to fund us…"

Hill said this while finding a seat nearby, sitting down beside Heisenberg.

After everyone took their seats, only Matthew remained standing, looking at Heisenberg.

"BOSS, how should I respond to them?"

"Respond?"

Heisenberg shook his head indifferently.

"Why should you respond? Pretend you never received the call. I have other plans for this war!"

He waved at Matthew.

"With or without their permission, New York is already mine. Do I need their approval to own what's already mine?

If they're unhappy with my stance, they can take back New York—if they can!

By the way, Matthew, finalize your mayoral campaign before the alien news breaks.

Asgard might not be able to stop the Chitauri fleet, and this war will eventually reach Earth.

By then, chaos could make everything more complicated.

But in my plan, no matter where the war spreads, I need a peaceful, stable New York to serve as a showcase for all Earthlings. So…"

"So I'll become New York's mayor by tomorrow, BOSS."

Matthew frowned, looking out the window as if his blind eyes could see the war in the heavens.

"But I have to ask, BOSS, do you need the Chitauri to reach Earth?

Is it because you want to see Asgard fail, or because you want Earthlings to suffer?"

"Haha, Matthew, your kindness never ceases to amaze me!"

Heisenberg laughed, patting Matthew's shoulder.

"Asgard's failure and Earth's casualties aren't my goal. I just want Earthlings to truly feel the dangers and wonders of the universe!

You might think I'm unkind for not stopping the aliens, but do you really want humanity to rely on me forever?

Don't let my presence rob Earthlings of the chance to face and overcome crises.

Don't let them lose the spirit to fight death and improve themselves to defeat stronger enemies.

I could stop the aliens, but honestly, it's not my responsibility or duty.

Of course, I won't ignore this war. I'll intervene at the right moment to keep it within my desired scale.

That scale will cause damage and some Earthlings will die.

But Matthew, Hill, Natasha—you must understand one thing!

Without me, you'd face all this alone!

My plan reduces Earth's losses, and that's already Earth's fortune!"

Heisenberg tapped the sofa armrest, and the Ancient One projected the starry sea for everyone.

As the projection appeared, Heisenberg softly told the group.

"In the past five millennia, Asgard rarely lost wars, especially large-scale ones.

But this time, they'll be powerless.

It's not because they've weakened or faced internal strife and Frost Giant invasions.

Their enemy is themselves!"

Heisenberg pointed to the Chitauri flagship.

"Loki is a weak god, but we must admit he's incredibly effective against Asgard.

Though Asgard now besieges the Chitauri fleet, Loki's mind will soon turn the tide!"

Meanwhile, in the heavens.

The Asgardian commanders stood with Odin, watching the seemingly endless Chitauri insect-shaped landing ships and bio-fighter ships.

Suddenly, a rainbow-colored light flashed, and Thor appeared beside Odin, reeking of alcohol.

"What the hell is this?!"

Thor looked around, his drunken state making the other commanders grimace.

Odin was furious. He'd known Thor was unreliable, but each time, Thor outdid himself.

Odin raised Gungnir, and lightning struck Thor.

"Owww!"

Before Thor could ask questions, the lightning cleared his head.

Grumbling, he complained.

"Dad, seriously? Did you have to hit me so hard? I know what to do!

Let me see… Ah, someone's invaded the Nine Realms! Exciting!

Wait, it's Thanos's Chitauri fleet. Didn't we have a non-aggression pact? Why are they attacking Earth?

Must be Loki. Damn it, definitely that bastard. Haha.

Get me some mead, Dad. Watch this—I'll finish this drink, then drag that bastard to you…"

Bang!

Thor was struck again, looking dazed.

"Take every war seriously, Thor!"

Odin scolded, but Thor ignored him.

"I will, as long as you stop zapping me in front of my friends!

Just hold my mead. I'll deal with the fleet, then drink when I return!"

Drunk Thor extended his right hand, and the ship echoed with clanging sounds.

Moments later, Mjolnir appeared in his hand.

The ship's crew began repairs—Thor often left his hammer outside, and it often pierced the hull…

But this time was different. Instead of rushing into battle, Thor stared at Mjolnir, his eyes widening.

Countless images flashed in his mind.

Was this his Mjolnir… or everyone's?!

How many had wielded it? Was he still the only worthy one?!

And that handprint…

"No!!!"

Drunk and distraught, Thor fell to his knees, cradling Mjolnir and wailing.

The scene shocked the nearby commanders. Fandral, Volstagg, Hogun, and Sif rushed to him, asking what happened.

Thor babbled incoherently, shoving Mjolnir at them.

"Take it! Anyone can lift it now! Too many are worthy!!!"

Seeing Thor's lack of fight, Odin nearly shattered his teeth in anger.

He slammed Gungnir, roaring at the other commanders.

"Drag this damn fool outside the ship! Let him sober up in space!

Then, launch the vanguard attack!!!"

Thor became Asgard's most visible flag, hanging outside the ship.

On the Chitauri flagship, Loki stared in disbelief at the strategic projection.

Seeing Thor hanging from Asgard's ship, he froze for five seconds.

Super Giant reminded him.

"Loki, focus on the plan. It's time to go!"

"Okay, okay, I'm going. I'm just too excited! What did that idiot become after I left? Haha!"

Loki approached fifteen Chitauri insect-shaped landing ships.

The Tesseract glowed blue, and as the light took him, he told Super Giant.

"The Chitauri alone can't defeat my father in space.

After I leave, don't focus on fighting. Instead, land on the planet that will hinder Odin.

Odin claims to be merciful. On Earth, his concern for life will weaken him by at least a third.

Defeating the enemy who once defeated your master—isn't that the honor you seek?

Follow my plan. Abandon the Chitauri fighters, delay Asgard, and bring the final battle to Earth!

I'll cause chaos on Asgard, forcing Odin to split his forces, preparing for your landing and our victory.

We'll win, Super Giant!"

As his words ended, Loki vanished. The fifteen landing ships and their Chitauri warriors waited for his next command.

Super Giant, clad in white armor and a pure white cape, smirked after Loki left.

"Your plan isn't as simple as you claim, Loki!"

She muttered.

"No matter how merciful Odin becomes, he won't reduce his power to spare Midgardians.

So, Loki, you just want our forces on that planet?

What's your goal? The Mind Stone?

No, that's not your only plan. You have your own agenda!

But I like your plan. Bringing pain to life—that's what I love.

Especially making the planet that thwarted Thanos suffer. Hehe, I adore this feeling!"

She linked her mind to the Chitauri control core, using her mental powers to engage the Asgardian fleet.

Brilliant energy beams flashed, and countless lives perished in the starry sea.

But neither side cared.

For Asgard and Chitauri alike, death in battle was the highest honor!
