"Lol, What's up with your stream last night." Zack mocks at us. I didn't know if I'd either feel annoyed or just laugh with Eli tying his hair into a small pigtails with cute yet weird looking hairclips parting his bangs to the side.
I just stared at him and looked away. He must've lost a bet with her to end up in that situation.
"Those two guys at the Sper guild is stronger than I thought." Seb sighs, accepting his defeat.
"I mean, it was pretty much obvious that Lucas will surely lose but I didn't expect you'd lose Seb." He said, his words made Seb looked like he was avoiding or hesitating about something.
"Now that I think about it. Don't your character was pretty much agile and faster with the boots..?" I asked slowly realizing something.
"No way..." Zack's jaw dropped as he stood up from his seat—shocked and baffled, his pigtails bouncing and waving around from the sudden movement. Eli was also shocked and just stared at him with disbelief.
"Did you—" Zack asked, his voice trembling but was immediately cut off by Seb.
"Hell no.." Seb rolls his eyes in annoyance. "Oh... Okay." Zack's expression turned back to normal and plopped back to his seat in relief.
Seb getting scammed might've been a interesting situation to see.. Seb's avatar in Terranox is a swordsman, his weapon was the famous limited edition reward from conquering a one time dungeon event with highest difficulty which was a max level long sword. His avatar or character rather is strong, usually swordsman characters are slow but thanks to his item— a boots that he also got as a reward for conquering another dungeon that automatically max your agility and thinking about last night's game he wasn't wearing his item boots and was slower than usual.
"Is it perhaps connected to that one gamer you've been playing all night?" I asked, and he immediately nodded in response.
"Yeah, I lost a bet you see.." He replied, leaving all three of us quite shocked. We never once won a bet with Seb, that's how smart he is not only in academics but also in online games.
"Is that the one online player you've been playing last night till dawn?" Eli asked, now braiding Zack's hair. "Yeah." He replied.
"What kind of weird ass bet was it?" Zack asked, his braided hair sticking up in the air, wiggling every small movement. I immediately looked away trying not to laugh at his appearance.
"Obviously it was a game match. What else would they take bets on when they only meet in the game." Eli commented sarcastically.
"We place out bet as whoever loses the one versus one match grants the winner's request, and surprisingly I lost and she requested if she can borrow my boots for a day so that she can conquer a new dungeon in the Dead Valley." Seb said.
"... Are you sure that person now didn't sell or put in the auction your item and will delete her account later on..?" Zack said in disbelief. "That boots is currently the only one existing in the game and many have tried to approach you for it and you refused.. Are you sure she won't do it..?" He added
"No, she isn't like that." Seb replied. "You sound like you know her." I asked.
"We've been playing together in Terranox when you weren't playing with me and I think it's almost been 5 months now."
I was shocked. My closest childhood friend ever since I was a child has a friend that I didn't know and he's already known them for almost half a year now..?
"I feel betrayed." I groaned, acting dejected.
"You look ridiculous ." Eli scoffed mocking me with her eyes.
"What's her username..?" I cleared my throat.
"@_gail"
I pondered. I've got that feeling I've heard about that username somewhere but just shrugged it off my mind.
"But to think you haven't said to me anything about that new friend of yours makes me a bit sad." I leaned my head on Seb's shoulder. He chuckled.
"Grow up lol." He pushed my head off of his shoulder and I just smiled back at him doing so.
Knock. Knock.
A student knocked at our classroom door and peeked his head in.
"Excuse me, is student Lucas Leonardo Goettems here..?" The student asked. The nameplate on his chest shows that he was a senior.
I stood up from my seat with a confused expression. "Yes, senior...?" I walked towards him.
"The teachers asked me to tell you to come to the faculty office." He said.
"Oh, alright. But may I know the reason why..?" I replied, pondering about what could it be.
"Oh, I overheard it was about cutting classes..?" He said with the word cutting classes in a whisper.
Damn, I didn't think even when our teacher is not present at the classroom and a student going out would still be considered as cutting classes. Even that senior from earlier was giving me a side eye before he left.
I arrived at the door of the headmaster's office. I was nagged non-stop by our advisor and now I'm gonna get nagged again by the headmaster. How strict does this school can be and also it wasn't only me that was cutting classes that day, Gabriel was also there!.
Loud ruckus was heard inside the office and it gradually get louder. I hesitated even more since it seems like the headmaster was also talking to someone and it'll be rude if I'll just barge in while they're having conversation.
".... Why .... looking at... that..."
I could faintly hear the words they were saying inside, words that with frustration and anger. I stepped back however the door suddenly burst open.
Gabriel who's face was pale and was clearly not feeling well. My eyes immediately widen in surprise. Our eyes instantly met with each other and he fainted to the ground, luckily enough I was able to catch him before he hits the ground. I was confused, I looked up towards the headmaster.
Chills runned down my spine. My eyes stared at the headmaster's expression while looking at Gabriel was something I feel like I shouldn't have seen. I quickly looked away and back to Gabriel's unconscious body. The teacher's were also surprised but before they could crowd around us I immediately shouted. "I'll take him to the infirmary!." and rushed out of the faculty office with Gabriel in my arms.
The school nurse quickly tended to Gabriel after I placed him in the bed. I slicked my hair back with my fingers while breathing a bit heavily.
Many thoughts that I shouldn't think about run down my mind. Why was Gabriel always on edge everytime about the slightest and tiniest imperfection in him and what were they talking about inside the office.
The nurse finished tending Gabriel and left the infirmary to report to the headmaster. I sat on the seat beside the bed Gabriel was laying. My eyes stared at him.
"I'm so curious about you, Gabriel.." I said to him, leaning my face closer to his.
"Here I thought I learned everything about you after searching you online but it seems like all those informations were all a lie."
"Earlier was quite the shock for me, I was called to be nagged by the headmaster but instead that happened."
"Say what are you afraid about..?"
"..."
"I've always envied you, you see. How your family was always by your side, supporting you. I also have a family but.. They're not always by my side but ever since yesterday.. It made me have this doubts."
"I'm so curious!" I hummed.
"About how the Perfect Lee Jaewhi from the so called Perfect Lee Family really is inside.." I whispered, tucking his fringe behind his ears.
"But I'll restrain my revenge for you someday."
I leaned back with a satisfied smile curling on my lips. Gabriel was still unconsciously sleeping on the bed. I pulled out my phone from my pocket and called Seb.
"Tell Gabriel's friends to come to the infirmary, he fainted." I said.
