Seraphina's POV
"Two months, just for me?" I repeated, trying to keep the sarcasm from my voice. "How generous of you to dedicate your precious time."
Damien's lips curved into that dangerous smile again as he moved to sit on the edge of the bed, patting the space beside him. "Come, sit. We need to discuss our arrangement."
I remained standing, arms crossed over my chest. "I think I'll stay right here, thanks."
He shrugged, unbothered by my defiance. "As you wish. Standing or sitting, it doesn't change what I'm about to propose."
The word "propose" sent a chill through me. Nothing good could come from whatever this man had planned.
"For the next two months," Damien continued, his eyes fixed on mine, "you and I will be in a relationship."
"Excuse me?" I nearly choked on the words.
