I strode down the hallway toward Lilith's room, my jaw clenched so tight I could feel a headache building. Being tasked with interviewing that snake was the last thing I wanted, but as Kaelen had pointed out, someone had to do it.
The door was ajar when I arrived. Peering in, I saw three maids fluttering around Lilith like she was still royalty—one brushing her hair, another arranging fresh flowers, and a third setting out a tray of pastries.
My blood boiled instantly.
"What exactly do you think you're doing?" I growled, shoving the door fully open.
The maids froze. Lilith merely smiled, looking smug as she lounged on her bed.
"Alpha Orion," one maid stammered. "We were just—"
"Just what?" I stalked into the room. "Treating a traitor like she's still a concubine?"
"I am carrying your pups," Lilith said calmly, stroking her flat stomach. "Shouldn't I be comfortable?"
I turned to the maids. "Get out. Now."
