The servants received their orders and started to take action, but just as they began to move, a clear and steady voice rang out:
"Did I agree to her moving in?"
Eleanor Spencer's joyful smile froze on her face, unable to believe and nervously looking at Mason Nightshade. What did Mason mean by this? Did he disagree?
This was clearly not part of Eleanor's plan. She thought Aurelia might react strongly and object fiercely, but doing so would only backfire and make Mason dislike her. Besides, with his mother's invitation, she wasn't afraid of not being able to move in. But now... Mason disagrees?
Could it be that Mason doesn't want to use her to make this woman loathe him? He had clearly expressed such a thought before. Was she wrong?
As turmoil filled Eleanor's heart, Sophie Nye voiced the doubts in her mind: "Why disagree? Isabel Bennett moving in can take care of you and help take care of Aurelia. What's bad about that?"
