Alice walked back downstairs soon, all prim and dressed up for her outing with her mother-in-law.
She had seen her in her first life, and it was beyond embarrassing. Thinking back on the situation made her cringe so badly.
It was her 70th birthday, and they had a huge birthday party for her. She was very influenced by Octavia and fell victim to her whims and caprices when it was time to get a present.
It was a known fact to all that she was allergic to cherries—anything with the smell or the flavor. Octavia had convinced her to buy a perfume which heavily smelt like cherries, and when the gifts were being seen by her, she took a whiff of the perfume and immediately went into shock.
Everybody blamed Alice, and at that time, she saw no wrong in what she did, thanks to Octavia's manipulation. But in this life, she was going to make her love her even more than she already did.
